Goodness! This was such a good book! So emotional! The last 20-25% was hard to read, I kept tearing up. It makes you realize life is short, and not to take it for granted. I loved this so much I have already pre-ordered the 2nd book in the series! I was excited to see it comes out in 9 days! Keep up the great work Heather!
Hot and Sweet
Aubrey Steven’s Dad has cancer. On this worst day of her life, she and her best friend Kennedy go out for a night of drinking at a nightclub, and even though she has a quick dance and a deep connection with a gorgeous man, she has absolutely no room in her life for a relationship, so she leaves, no exchanging of numbers.
Noah Davis is a firefighter and has his best mate Grayson with him. Grayson is aware that Noah met and connected with a beautiful blonde named Aubrey, and when a beautiful blonde teacher of kindergartners come to visit the fire station, and her name is Aubrey, Grayson tries to convince her that his friend Noah is genuine
He is disgustingly perfect. This kind of man is actually a unicorn that only exists within the pages of a book. And that is why books exist – to feed our fantastic imaginations.
This is a fantastic easy reading book that provides great feels. It’s about a family coping with the premature loss of a loved one, and respectfully captured the emotions at the end. As with me, there will be many readers who will remember our own parental losses at this point in the book.
I totally can’t wait to check out Grayson and Kennedy’s book.
Thank you to Heather Lyn for offering Hearts Ablaze to Quirky Blind Date With A Book readers group so that we can have the privilege of reading Aubrey and Noah’s story. 4 Stars.
“You’ve worked your way into my heart, baby, and I’m never letting you go. Don’t you understand that? I’m falling so hard I don’t think I could stop even if I tried.”
What a sweet story! I loved Aubrey and Noah’s story, and c’mon, he’s a hot firefighter – how could I not love him?
Aubrey Stevens had just received devastating news. The last thing on her mind was love. She needs to deal with this, be there for her family – she can’t afford distractions right now. Until him. A chance meeting in a bar where her only intention was to drown out the tragedy unfolding before her, turns out to happen at the worst time, but with the best possible results. He’s a good man. A sexy man. And he’s been there for her, wiping away every tear she’s shed. But, when the worst happens, and she pushes him away, is it too late to fix it? Has she lost him forever, and along with it, her chance at happiness?
Noah Davis was drawn to her from the moment she literally ran into him in that bar. She was feisty and full of snark. She’s made it clear that she can only give him friendship right now, but while he can live with that, he’s going to do what he can to convince her to give them a chance. Just when things seem to be on solid ground, tragedy strikes and she pushes him away. Should he stand and fight for them, or walk away? She’s the one for him – he knows it. Now, he just has to convince her that he’s the one for her too.
This was my first read of Heather Lyn, but rest assured it will not be my last. Great characters, a heart-tugging story line, humor, love, steam, heartache, and heroics – it’s all here!
Hot firefighter? check. Sweet school teacher? check. Emotional turmoil? check. All the elements of a first class romance, waiting for the next reader. But beware. There is definitely an ugly cry in there too. of course, that’s balanced out by the lot’s, so it’s all good. it’s hard to believe this is a first, because it ranks right up there with some of the best that I’ve ever read!
