Escaping Rosenberg hadn’t exactly been the easiest task but the tragedy that comes after nearly destroys River.
She once again finds herself all alone. With her heart shattered into pieces and her hope dwindling by the second she musters up just enough strength to continue on.
She couldn’t quit now. Giving up wasn’t in her no matter how much she wanted to end it all.
After roaming aimlessly … aimlessly through the forest she had found escape in she manages to find a safe place to rest, a small town with a secret past of its own. God only knows what had happened once upon a time in the upstairs of the house she chooses to hide in.
With the threat of Rosenberg behind her it will have to do. She just has to hope that the house’s previous occupants don’t return.
Just when she loses all hope of finding her family and Zach again she sees him, standing in the window of the house across the street. Within seconds everything is threatened to be taken away from her once more. Davy has her in his grasp, but not for long.
As he takes his last breath he reveals an agenda that they all hoped wouldn’t be true. Rosenberg will do anything to kill them all. That threat only leaves River, Zach, and the others one option to take. They must take down Rosenberg and its leaders in order to secure their future.
But how, how can they take it down without an army? It’s nearly impossible until fate brings that army directly to their doorstep.
The question now is will it be enough. Will they win their war with the town or will they lose? Will death come for them all or will River finally find peace in a new home?
With a little luck they might just make it.

River and her friends are back in trouble actually there was never a time they were not in trouble. So much danger humans face thanks to the virus that hit everyone. Now River is carrying Matt;s baby and though he isn;t with her anymore, Zach has taken on the role of protector along with Knox and any other male that has come into contact with her. She is like a magnet that draws the good out of people. But the big job now is to bring Rosenberg down. Now to accomplish that without too much death will be the trick.
OMG! This story pulls everything in and will keep you enthralled as you follow these people through thick and thin, heart break and happiness.

The book is a good storyline that is an interesting conclusion of this trilogy. The characters are intriguing and well developed. I did like reading this book.
The characters have been through so much during this series. They have dealt with loss and horrific abusive by power hungry men as well as multiple attacks by zombies but they have persevered. I was pleasantly surprised by how the author was able to draw me into the story through the emotional descriptive prose. I loved the character of River and while at times, I thought the back and forth of loving one man then another was hard to understand, I came to realize that the characters grabbed love whenever and wherever they could because today could be their last day. I still didn’t like it though. 🙂 I did find a few things that didn’t make sense but hey, it is fictional fantasy and I still liked the book.
River was alone after Matt died. She finds a house to get some rest. The last thing she expected was to see Zach across the street!!! Cole caught up with them and told them that Rosenburg was coming for them and will not stop until they are all dead. They got forces together, took back Zach’s military compound, and then took over Rosenburg. River was pregnant through all of this. The one last piece she had of Matt. This was an incredible series!! They all finally got the life they wanted and a better world to begin building for their children!

This is the third and final book in the series. It has loss, love, overcoming difficult challenges and finding family. The book is well written without many typos which is always a plus in my book. I enjoyed the story.
