Readers back for a third round of the bestselling Cocktail series will enjoy a madcap romantic comedy about bodice ripping and chest heaving, fiery passion and love everlasting. Plus a dash of paperwork filing and horseshi–wait, what? By day, Viv Franklin is a tough-as-nails software engineer who designs programs and loves hospital corners. By night, Vivian’s a secret romance-novel junkie who … junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor, or a cowboy on a wild stallion, or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. And she gets to wear the bodice–don’t forget the bodice.
When a phone call brings news that she’s inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don’t they?
There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.
In Screwdrivered, Alice Clayton pits Superman against Clark in a hilarious and hot battle that delights a swooning Viv/Vivian. Also within this book, an answer to the question of the ages: Why ride a cowboy when you can ride a librarian?more

I LOVED IT…
This is such a fun read and Viv and Clark had me captivated by their chemistry and slow burn romance.
This book was just what I needed to relieve me from angst and stress.
Alice Clayton’s words are so witty and amused me non stop.

I highly recommend this wonderful Rom com.
5 Stars
Never have I ever related this much to a character in a book before. Vivian Franklin spoke to me immensely. Whether it was her day dreaming, or her wild fantasies, whether it was her blatant attitude, or her free spirited nature. Viv was such a breath of fresh air.
Our girl receives an unexpected phone call. She has inherited a beach front property from her long forgotten great aunt. Seeing this as an adventure of a lifetime, Vivian packs up her bags and moves to Mendocino, California. She hopes to find her storybook ending there.
On arriving there, Viv is absolutely mesmerized by the sexy cowboy. She thinks she is finally going to get a chance to live out her fantasy.
But there are complications present. One particular brooding ‘complication’ named Clark Barrow. He is a librarian who is making Vivian’s life a bit tougher than she signed up for.
Aice Clayton has created an amazing blend of romance, banter, steam & humour in this cocktail. You don’t want to pass on this one, trust me!
Another out of the ballpark book for Alice Clayton! This story is so hot, funny, and romantic that you will not be disappointed. I actually read this one via audiobook on Audible and found myself laughing out loud at so many parts, the best one that comes to mind is the leg stuck in the front porch. You will have to read for yourself to truly understand to appreciate it!
All I can say is Clark Barrow is one seriously hot librarian!
I was hoping the heroine was as cool as my first impression of her. She really seemed a lot cooler from the previous book…now, let’s just say that if I’m rating her alone, I’d give her a (generous) star. She’s a mess throughout the read. As in I don’t get her attraction with Hank, the dullest guy ever. I mean, for a woman like the heroine who prides herself to be an intellectual, I can’t believe she went through the whole read trying to hype up for the douchebag. Said douchebag isn’t even trying to be subtle about. He’s just plain and dull. And it’s so freaking obvious how big of a bully he was. Again, I don’t see the attraction. At. All.
Clark, now from the little snippets I’ve had of him, he’s clearly the cool one here. And the patience of this one is saint-like. I mean, he had to be, to come back and forgive the heroine. Every. Goddamned. Time. I totally want to protect him from the likes of Hank and even from the likes of the heroine. I’d go as far as she doesn’t deserve him at all. So yeah, all three stars are for him and for him only. In my heart, he’s a solid 5-star even.
Love the whole “Cocktails” series!
