Words are so powerful
My rating is 4.5 stars
When her rant finds its way onto social media, Jenna’s life begins a rapid spiral downward.
I have to confess. When I first started to read this, I thought Jenna was pretty awful to express her judgements so strongly in the office that it caused her to lose her job. I mean, really. Who does this?? And then I started to think about it and realized that it is so easy to be trapped by our words. And Jenna didn’t set out to have anyone outside of her team hear what she said… And as I continued to read about the way these ripples spread, I couldn’t help but wonder how many times my words have had that type of an impact. The author gave a very clear illustration of James 2, the picture of the tongue being like a spark that sets off a forest fire…
Imminent Threat brimmed with action and suspense as Jenna attempted to evade her stalker.
Carissa and Mark, two other bodyguards at Protection Inc., who we met in Direct Threat, endeavored to solve the mystery behind the stalker frightening college-age barista, Hannah, while the rest of the team worked on protecting other clients.
I really enjoyed the way most of the cases intertwined and had fun trying to solve the mystery of who it was behind all the problems. While I was right, partly, I was surprised at the end to see the answer.
I loved seeing characters from two of the Brides of Seattle series show up! Not in such a way that made it necessary to have read these stories to appreciate seeing them here but I remembered them. If you also enjoy romance without suspense, be sure to look for these stories as well.
If you enjoy suspense with romance and faith, be sure to read all the stories in the Protection Inc. series. And watch for Frank’s story to come out later this year.
Read my review of Imminent Threat by Kimberly Rose Johnson at AmongTheReads.net
I love Ms Johnson’s books! I’ve read everyone of them, and this one is no exception, especially now that she’s moved from sweet romance (which were ALL good) to more suspense. She writes tight, clean, and keeps the pages turning.
Another winner by Kimberly Rose Johnson. I liked the continuation of the romance from the first book intermingled with a new romance. It was well-written and contained the right mix of romance and suspense.
Overall, this was an excellent book that could’ve used another round of editing to smooth out some minor inconsistencies.
Jenna made a mistake that actually went viral. I really love to follow the clues and figure out who done it but this one kept me guessing – that’s okay. Jenna and Peter keep meeting – loved it. The team at Protection Inc have several cases going on at the same time and how they interact is really cool. There is some romance which was very sweet. Loved getting to catch up with previous characters.
