Cassandra is everything I’m not. Kind, warm, optimistic… happy.
If I was less of a selfish prick, I’d walk away. But I can’t.
It was supposed to be one night of fun, but ten months after Valentine Roulette he can’t get the feisty model out of his head. She’s invaded his dreams, ruined every session at Black Light, and it’s been four months since she even returned a text.
This isn’t him.
… text.
This isn’t him.
Logan Chisholm doesn’t obsess over women.
He doesn’t replay every sweet cry he drew from their lips, doesn’t remember the way their smile changes when they laugh, but Cassandra Moreira is different.
He has to figure out if their chemistry was real… or just part of the game.
Luckily, Christmas has come early this year, because she’s back in L.A. and he’s not letting her leave again without getting a second date.
And this time he won’t take no for an answer.

Love has no age. There is no right or wrong to it. It just is. Logan and Cassandra found each other in the craziest of places. Black Light is the place where dreams seem to come true. You put your truest self out there and know your deepest desires will be accepted. Logan was sweet in his pursuit of Cassandra, and as the story shows, he needed her light to cut through his past darkness. Everyone should have a family-like Cassandra’s. I liked the quiet words her brothers had with Logan to help welcome him to the family.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
It all started at the biggest bdsm event of the year. they hit it off right away. The problem she’s a model and travels for work. how will it ever work with his work in california and hers is the world. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Although this is part of a bigger world of books this is a standalone with a HEA
A new book in the Black Light series. It has been a while since Jennifer Bene wrote a a full length novel in the series, but she is back with a bang.
Since it takes place in the BL world, this book isn’t dark, but it does have those yummy steamy BDSM scenes which only Jennifer Bene can write. And there is also humor and a lot of emotions and feelings. From being on top of the world to down in a dark hole.
It is a story about two people finding each other, but also a journey into themselves. Specially for Logan. The characters aren’t perfect, they have flaws and make mistakes, but that is what makes them human and easy to relate too. It takes a lot of strength to admit you did wrong and to make a change.
Book 15 in the Black Light series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. Logan and Cassandra met at the Black Light Celebrity Roulette when Logan was the winning bid on playing with Cassandra for the valentine’s event. I liked that months later they are still on each other’s minds even though they have not been able to reconnect due to their equally busy schedules. Their story takes place over several weeks where they get to date and really get to know one another. It was nice seeing secondary character Vanessa & Wyatt from that same event too.
I can not get enough of this series. This is Logan and Cassandra’s story and you will fall in love with them like I did. Get in, sit down, buckle your seat belt and get ready to get your kink on.
I found Logan and Cassandra’s story to be witty, charming and yet deep as well. The connection to the hero and heroine in this story are felt throughout. I love dark romance and Ms. Bene does it well. Cassandra is a bratty submissive, but also a strong-willed, independent woman. Logan is an A-type, controlling dom that fights against his chemistry with Cassandra. I was invested in both Logan and Cassandra and I looked forward to the back and forth between them.
4.4 stars
I make no apologies for my love of all things Black Light. There is just something about that world that draws me in. What I wouldn’t do for a real club or a chance to spin that roulette wheel. I would be hardpressed to say whether I love the individual stories or the anthologies better. The anthologies always gives me a chance to see some of my favorites and also introduce me to new authors but it is the full-fledged books such as this that truly dive into the relationships of the characters.
I adore this author because she always takes me on a journey. Her books aren’t just about Kink. Instead, there is a connection that goes beyond having a sense of realism but instead it focuses on what makes these characters tick; their nuisances, their strengths, weaknesses, fears, hopes, and chance to discover love. I definitely got that in this book and then some. Logan was like an Ebeneezer Scrooge in all aspects of his life and Cassandra was pure happiness. Yet, even as Logan was intense and standoffish in his life he was willing to pursue everything with Cassandra, regardless of time or space. Cassandra, on the other hand, was joyous and happy was encumbered by time and space and couldn’t see beyond that. I liked how the author showed these differences because it showed how the right person can help see things from a new perspective.
I loved the steamy times and I FLOVED the epilogue. His last line was the stuff made of legends and really hit home the importance of family and living a charmed life. I wish there would have been more of a look in the future but will keep my fingers crossed that these two will make an appearance in the next Roulette and give it to me then because I need to see how charmed their life really was.
This couple in this book, Logan & Cassandra, was first introduced in the Black Light: Celebrity Roulette. Cassandra is a model & was paired with CEO Logan for the night. Ten months later, Cassandra is back in town. After their sizzling night together at Black Light, their connection is strong but can it last? I adored Cassandra. She knows her worth and respects everyone equally. She’s grounded, down-to-earth, and values her friendships. Cassandra is a beam of sunshine. Logan is driven by his work, a bit of a friendless loner who manages his stress through alcohol. There’s a few obstacles to hurdle before they get their HEA & I loved the ride. Ms Bene has a way of drawing me into her characters’ world & I feel all the emotions her characters feel. So, so beautifully written in her lovely flowing way.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
Boy! This was such a great story. Not all BDSM stories are great and some turn to the unrealistic but this was such a great story with Jennifer’s own mix in. I love Cassandra and her whole outlook at life. Logan is that broken man you want to fix but that also needs to do some of the fixing himself. I loved reading their progress and growth and the chemistry is amazing! I couldn’t put this down. I am pretty sure this is my first book by this author but now I am hooked.
A more light-hearted take on the series Black Light. Charmed is a story about passion. Logan, after experiencing one of the best 3 hours of his Dom life, is certain that Cass would be the perfect addition to his everyday one. He is, by all other aspects, not only successful in business, but handsome in appearance and more than capable in Dominance. A hugely successful model, Cassandra is all about the social life, family and friends. Her job requires travel, dedication and commitment. But her smart mouth, eye rolls and lack on constancy makes becoming a one-man woman difficult. The chemistry they share is intense. But the troubles between their worlds, the differences in their outlooks, and the degree of control may be more than can be resolved in one lifetime.
The BDSM in this book as spot on and I really enjoyed it. Cassandra was a breath of fresh air, light, airy, and fun, but not flighty. She was also smart and sexy, and she knew it. She did jump into things, but she trusted her instincts and her feelings. Logan was a bit too hard at times for me, and a bit too wishy washy at others. Nothing truly over the top, but he seemed to have an almost dual personality and switched on a dime. The biggest problem I had was that I didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters. They were hot together, but I didn’t feel the steam between them. Everything was there, and everything happened, and the story was good, the characters were fine, but the spark between them was missing.
Cassandra and Logan had one amazing night at Valentine Roulette…and months later, Logan can’t get her out of his mind.
These two embark on one hot and intense journey! Cassandra and Logan are opposites but that’s what makes them so great together. There were a few times I wanted to smack them both upside the head, but thankfully the feeling passed.
Black Light books are a necessity, I can’t get enough of these folks!
OMG!!! What an emotional story. The difference between Cassandra who is a brat and Logan who is so serious. It is amazing how they ever could be together. Total opposite and yet the sex between them is explosive. You need to read this very emotional story. Enjoy
Logan and Cassandra, they are the perfect couple but they each could not see it due to their own hangups. Cassandra is his light, and Logan is her dream guy, but can they make it work. Mr. Dover has “definitely does not have more personality than a potato”. Hilarious. What I read was a real life scenario and you become one with the character’s that Ms. Bene conveys, you can really feel their pain. I especially loved the last couple of chapters and the family’s traditions. It was heartwarming and gave me a fuzzy glow. You can never go wrong with a Black Light chapter.
I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.
