Fantastic!!!
I absolutely loved this book. So many emotions and feels. Extremely well written. I would highly recommend this book and the entire series.
OMG! What a journey I had with this couple Diogo and Tara they have not have it easy they defeated one enemy when there is another one just beginning. But every single time they get through it like the saying says from the ashes we rise and they definitely did that with every loss with every fight they were more stronger more in love then they ever were. This was a great ending to Diogo and Taran journey but I hope we still get little bits from them with the next ones to come of this apocalyptic series.
perfect freaking ending. so much going on still but everything is resolved in the end. I cant think of a better dystopian story. this series literally had EVERYTHING.
skye and wolfe!! F YES! im dying to read the next book but with sky and him. great epilogue and intro to their story at the end. this was perfection
If you are a fan of dystopian novels, post-apocalyptic fiction and an over-the-top, possessive hero, this is the book for you.
This is the last book in the trilogy where Diogo and Taran’s story comes to an end. Nikita Slater has built a world where you have to fight to survive and Diogo and Taran do just that to protect their family and create a better place in their sanctuary city.
Diogo’s love for Taran opens him up to the problems of life at sanctuary. He finally learns how to protect his people in the best way with the guidance of Taran. Taran’s sister, Skye also makes an entrance in this book. I loved the parts with Skye and Wolfe and I can’t wait to read their book when it comes out.
Overall, Diogo and Taran’s story was amazing. Nikita Slater never disappoints and this is definitely a must-read trilogy.
What a fabulous 3rd book in this series!
Diogo and Taran’s story continues in this post apocalyptic saga! And they are my new favourite book couple!
Phenomenal Conclusion!
OMG! What an amazing conclusion to this absolutely fantastic series. From beginning to end the action, suspense and intrigue will keep you on the edge of your seat and utterly entertain you. There were so many twists and turns throughout that kept me guessing on the outcome at the end. And what a fantastic ending – it was exactly what I was looking for!
Each character in the series is so well written that you love some and hate some but then totally understand and feel for the bad ones. The world building and storyline is so remarkable and believable, it felt like I was right there with them.
Taran and Diogo are such amazing characters and the ultimate power couple that I couldn’t ask for a better ending for them. Their growth as a couple and their intense love for each other is explosive and powerful. They both still have their flaws and fierceness but their passion and love for each other and the new world they live in is awe-inspiring!
This was an amazing series from beginning to end and I am happy that even though Taran and Diogo’s story is at an end, the author is continuing other stories in this amazing world. Absolutely phenomenal writing and storytelling. This has become one of my most favourite series. Highly recommend.
*Holy (NSFW word) y’all*
I’m actually at a loss for words on this review. I’ve been sitting on it now for a couple of days, because I just can’t figure out how to get the words right to convey my feelings. About Last Sanctuary itself and The Sanctuary Series overall.
Taran and Diogo are perfect. This series is amazing and this book had me ignoring EVERYTHING as I devoured it. Just read it. Read them all, and when you turn that last page and sit staring off into space wondering what you should do next? Head on back to Nikita Slater’s backlist and (re)read. Them. All.
Nikita Slater writes characters and stories that stick with you. The believability. The intensity. The heart pounding action. The HEAT. Her books grab a hold of you and just. Won’t. Let. Go. Talk about a book hangover… No. Regrets.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
“Wow,” is all I could say about the 3rd book of this series. This book took me on a great journey, and I was excited and sad at the same time, since I was under the impression that this was the last book of this series. But NO! We will still be getting Skye and Wolfe’s story in the summer of 2020! Anyways, I’m in love with Diogo and Taran; they have a unique relationship that you will definitely fall in love with. They haven’t had it easy; every time they think things are getting better something else happens. They always find a way around it though. Or better said, Diogo finds a way around it, since he will not let anything get in the way of his love for Taran – his Sanctuary. Nikita Slater, you got me hooked! I need more of these stories, just like a druggie needs their drugs. Maybe that wasn’t the best example… Please keep on writing; this world needs your stories! They make our days better.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK/SERIES! YOU WON’T REGRET READING IT!
I read very few dystopian tales, but I believe this has been my favorite! Packed full of action and suspense and hot romance, it hits all the right spots! I can’t wait to read more from this world!
Astounding Story! 5 Stars+…
One of the best series I have ever read. It’s a page-turner that was enthralling. I love the characters, especially the Warlord, Diogo, a man that no one opposes. Taran, Diogo’s wife, is a tiny red-head that isn’t afraid to stand up to her strong Warlord. It’s a great love story amidst all the danger of a new world. Diogo will allow nothing to stop him from protecting his wife. The entire series is phenomenal and I can’t wait for her next one. Read it today, you will love it!
What an amazing epic end of this trilogy. I read this book in one sitting and now feel like I need to go back and re-read the entire series because it’s so good!!!
This one starts off in a fiery blaze with Taran and Diogo trying to stay alive. Taran has matured quite a bit with her love for Diogo and her unborn child tempering some of her recklessness. Diogo is still a hard warlord but his love for Taran shines through affecting some of his choices. Quite a bit of action throughout this book with some sadness for inevitable losses, anger at some characters for their betrayals, irritation with Diogo because lets face it whether he is right or wrong (this will make sense when you read the book)Taran is going to remain by his side if she wants to or not lol and finally joy when this couple triumphs over all the obstacles thrown at them. I am always a happy reader when love wins !
#review THE LAST SANCTUARY by Nikita Slater (Book 3 in the Sanctuary Series)
#DystopianRomance #Favorite

—————————–
My review: Nikita Slater created a world in this book where survival and humanity clashes. A true dystopian romance, this book is full of action and compassion.
Taran has always been the more compassionate one in this book. Her mission, her passion and her unwavering belief in humanity is what I loved most about her. She might started seeing the wrongness of the cause of the rebellion but she still held high hope that Diogo will somehow find a way to fully rule the sanctuary with more regards to the slums and illegitimate rescues (by Taran) than he used to.
Diogo, on the other hand, has proven over and over again how much he loves and worship Taran by his small actions (but actually bigger that what he gives himself credit for). It’s not an overnight change for him and I love how he opens Taran eyes in the real reality of their situation by not forcing her to see things but rather show her the reasons behind his every decisions which made him more appealing in the story. Being a warlord, a leader in a crumbling world where one mistake in leadership will result in damnation of the sanctuary of New Tucson, Diogo manages to carefully balance his decisions, of course, with the help of his now wife, Taran by giving more conpassion into it and thinking thoroughly without a disregard to anyone.
I just love the camaraderie between these couple and how they handle their differences and move forward even with this.
There’s also so many events where it keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting for what and where the author will take you.
The character and plot build up was fascinating to witness. From the first page up to the last, I was gripped by the story and just waiting for how things will eventually unfold. You can’t just help but wonder what’s in store for you while reading this.
This author has definitely mastered this genre, you would think this isn’t new to her. The story flows fluidly and the writing is at its best. The characterization is perfectly apt and the build-up from the first of this series until the last is marvelous! I am absolutely satisfied and definitely left wanting more from this series!

This third book brings to a close the journey Taran and Diogo have been travelling and it managed to wrap things up to my satisfaction this may be the end of their particular story but it’s also the beginning of another continuing on the series with Taran’s sister Skye and her mysterious deadly shadow Wolfe
Where we left things previously they weren’t looking good the tower was burning and the situation faced was perilous this picks up in the aftermath of all this and whilst Diogo is recovering a coup is in motion and the identity of the leak feeding information is finally exposed.
There’s a lot going on here and the secrets Diogo has been concealing from Taran are finally revealed in the form of yet another threat. Taran is of course completely devastated at what she perceives as her husband’s betrayal and relations between husband and wife are strained a wall going up between them that Diogo struggles to breach.
We also have refugees congregating outside the city more than can be housed with their limited resources at hand and we finally get to meet the baby warlord Blaze.
Taran and Diogo both had work to do here to regain the trust and closeness they had lost but they do get there, in the end, I adore these two as a couple so was hurting right alongside them.
There’s also a lovely epilogue set five years in the future and this definitely gives us hope for going forward.
There’s no question that I’m reading Skye and Wolfe’s story they intrigue me so much but I am waiting till both books are out I believe it’s going to be a duet so I’m looking forward to that.
The world-building for this series has been fabulous and very well done I totally recommend this trilogy I’ve enjoyed it a whole lot.

What a satisfying ending. I love how this author had everything come together in the end and still give us something to look forward to with a new couple, and a new book. I’m going to be itching to get that next book, but I’m also glad that Taran and Diogo felt complete.
Taran and Diogo butted heads throughout this whole series. To me, that is what made Diogo’s possessive nature shine through and also showed Taran’s independence. Those moments were actually fun to see with these two. The only time I wish this didn’t happen was in this book. I only say that because it did have these two not working together for longer than I would have wished for. I’m just a reader who prefers a couple handling conflict together, not apart.
This was a great series that I see myself re-reading often. The world building was fantastic and the characters just pull you right into the story. Now I’ve gotta check out the other books his author has written. I’m hoping to find more gems.
The Last Sanctuary is the final piece to puzzle. Taran is pregnant and hanging off the side of a burning building forced to decide between her husband and her unborn child. This series has been a roller coaster of emotions. Love, hate, and devastation. Taran is a strong woman. A survivor. Diogo and Taran together are unstoppable, but one lie could be their downfall. I’m addicted to this series and to these dynamic characters.
