Having a younger, beautiful sister is hard enough. Having one who’s on the cover of magazines and is loved by all? Torture. For single mom Marie Stephens, all she wants is to survive her new business, provide for her children, and ignore the intense feelings she has for her married neighbor. When her famous sister, Sadie, shows up after a five-year absence, Marie’s normal life ceases to exist. … to exist. Add in their celebrity-obsessed mother, it’s no wonder they can’t get along.
The most important thing Sadie and Marie will learn? Accepting your sister can change your life.

I loved the sibling relationships in this one.
I could only give three stars because the book jumped around so much between paragraphs that it was hard to follow. I felt like there were almost too many things introduced into the story. It was like the author wanted something else for the characters to deal with but didn’t have the time to give it good detail or background. A few of those things she could have left out and the story would have been just fine. It was an easy story to read otherwise but unfortunately it was not high on my list for a read again. Single mother Marie across the country with her two daughters to move in with her critical mother. While trying to get her new bookstore off the ground, she daydreams about her sexy neighbor. When her superstar sister also moves in, it brings up a lot of unresolved feelings. I received a free copy of this ebook from eBook Discovery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I really like this book and the way this author wrote. This book is told first person from Marie’s point of view. I especially love the dialogue between characters as well as Marie’s thoughts and what she would like to say. This is an interesting and amusing read about dysfunctional families. This is the first book that I read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I will keep her in mind for future reads.
Difficult family relationships are unfortunately more common that one would hope for. Add fame and a mother who idolizes her celebrity daughter to the mix and someone is sure to get hurt. Marie has been on the receiving end of her mother’s barbs and criticism for as long as she can remember and when her sister unexpectedly arrives back home, it is like throwing fat into the fire. Marie’s one solace is her daughters, who are the light of her life, but when her mother interferes, the festering past wounds erupt. With Jeffrey coming into their lives, he and his daughter round the small family off perfectly, but his silence on important matters almost ruins their relationship. I was ultimately pleased that a truce was eventually reached between Marie, her mother, and sister and that Jeffrey’s life became more settled. I found this book rather confusing as the subject matter continually changed from one paragraph to the next, and I had to keep rereading passages to figure out what was going on. Marie and her two daughters move in with her mother after being widowed for five years. She is instantly attracted to the neighbor Jeffrey who also has a daughter, but where is the wife? Throw in a tense relationship with her mother and an estranged famous sister who shows up for a “visit” and many comical, soul searching and heartbreaking events abound. This is the first book by this author I have read and it turns out is her first novel. Enjoyed it immensely! I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. I received a copy of this book and I’m giving my honest opinion.
Having read many books about siblings and love I was very pleasantly surprised by the newness I experienced while reading. The characters are real, they are fully developed, and they each have their issues with highs and lows. I found each of the sisters very relateable, Marie more so. Having three sisters myself I can say out relationships are not all sunshine and roses so these characters really struck a cord. As for the love story, it’s sweet and clean. The overall story grabbed me and sucked me in by the third page. It was a quick read but definitely one I will be re-reading!
Widowed Marie is now living with her mother again. After five years struggling with her two daughters, she is happy in Arizona with her bookstore. But when her sister Sadie, a famous singer, shows in their mother’s house, she knows that they will need to face their past, their fight in order to really be active happiness. An her handsome neighbour Jeffrey will play an important role in her future happiness. A sweet story about family, love, forgiviness and everything in between.
