Ivar The Destroyer is dead. Killed by my hands. Now, I hold the throne, and the Berserkers look to me for leadership. But loyalty runs deep—can I really trust the men who followed Ivar’s ruthless orders? So much blood has been spilled to end this fight before it ever began, but bigger challenges loom. My men were captured and taken to The Cities, and now fractured pasts, lies, and love will … pasts, lies, and love will blur together as I fight to save the only people I care about—the men I love. It’s a race against time, and an exercise in trust requiring the assistance of both family and allies, new and old, from all four corners of the Wastes.
Slave. Champion. Queen. I am all of these and so much more. It’s time I showed them who I really am.
The Wasteland is changing, I can feel it in the air, war…war is coming and I will lead the battle cry.
Long live the Berserker Queen.

I keep falling deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole that is The Wastelands. Taz is my hero, and I need my own harem, stat. Taz and Dray are explosive, the fighting and bloodshed just add to their passion. The storyline is progressing rapidly and is keeping me firmly entrenched. I detest The Cities government and what they stand for. The Champion strikes again and I loved every minute.
5 stars for The Cities by K.A. Knight. This is book three in Their Champion series. This book picks up right where book two left us. Taz/Worth is on her way to get her men back. She is truly epic. Ivar is dead. Now Worth/Taz is looked at as the Berserker ruler. Worth men were taken and now she must go to the Cities to get them back. She must fight to save them. If I say to much it will ruin it. I can not wait for the next book.
I have so enjoyed this series so far. But when I read the Cities, things jumped up for me. Everything was stepped up.
Worth is such a great character, I enjoyed her immensely before. But it seems like she stepped up more so. Add in that I have been waiting for something to happen and it finally does!! Yes!!! I do not want to give anything away, but just to say that this is so worth the read. So much happens with the plot, relationship wise, and just everything is stepped up.
I know I am not giving much away, but I do not want to slip up and reveal anything. Trust me this is a great read. This whole series is awesome, and one that if you are on the fence about, I would highly recommend. Also while you are at it, this author is crazy good. Worth looking into her other works.
I Give this Book a 3.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.
HEA(?): It does comes off as one (kinda wish for a head scratching emoji), but there is a book 4 coming soon so I’m assuming that this is a cliffhanger.
Cliffhanger: Yes……?
Heat: 5/5, while there’s is quite a bit of it, Loved the Scenes with Dray! But at some areas it did seem a tad repetitive or just very short lived, especially with the other guys, but nonetheless I enjoyed it.
Dark: 3.5/5
Romance: 3.5-4/5
Drama: 4.5-5/5
Suspense: 3.5-4ish/5
Pacing: Mid.
Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem MFMMMM
Though, at times I did almost think the RH was secretly dispersed or at the very least was Demoted.
Especially in importance, cause (to me) some of the guys just seemed to disappear or just become rarely mentioned.
Secondary characters seem to be pushed to Main Characters, while some Main Characters become either Secondary or nearly Background characters at times.
Dray is the main guy featured in this book, and I without a doubt have to say that he is my Absolute Favorite!
What I didn’t/don’t like is the utter devotion to Taz, everyone is immediately enamored with her, but at times I just don’t understand why.
The third book in this post-apocalyptic Saga and this one concentrated more on the developing dynamic between seeker king Dray and his chosen soulmate.
So after Ivor, the Destroyers annihilation at the hands of his prior pet Taz finds herself at the helm and the new Berserker Queen.
She is ready to lead her people into a better age but also to retrieve her men who have been captured and imprisoned and taken back to the City.
This book covered Taz and the efforts she will go to to see them all reunited and together as a family.
Taz was her usual take no messing bloodthirsty savage self but now with an equally crazy seeker king by her side for added muscle and sexy times.
And the sexy times here were hardcore and very erotic.
I really like Dray and what he represents and brings to the table when paired off with our girl.
But as much as I adore him and believe in his feelings and their overall dynamic which was mesmerising, I still don’t think he is the sort of man to share his woman he’s just too possessive and overtly male for me to ever see it.
He comes across as the sort of man who wouldn’t share his toys or play well with others at least not without a very good reason like a deep bond with the males involved which wasn’t the case here.
There are examples of his particular mindset throughout this with what Dray says and does showcasing this fact every time he threatens someone for even looking at Taz.
The others though I could see it not because they weren’t equally as possessive but mostly because of there close emotional bond with each other.
This felt more like Dray was her husband and the others were her harem like in times of old.
This dynamic disturbed me slightly as I do think this would have worked better as either her males or her seeker but not both.
I did actually like them all I just didn’t think this worked as a unit and as I have said in a previous review of this series Dray slightly overshadowed the other males for me.
He was just so overtly male and psychotically savage, he was a tough one to measure up to.
This was again interesting with where it went but I did think the finish was a bit abrupt.
I still really enjoyed myself this is an incredibly imaginative series with some fantastic world-building that Was a fascinating read.
There is also scope for future stories set in this world or even a continuation of this one.
Even with my slight issues, this was a solid four-star read for me the writing with this one was again excellent and it definitely easily kept my attention.

Holly amazeballs! This book was the bestest! This is my favourite so far, ha, ha, I say that every single time, but the truth is, this is one of my favourite series in the world and each of the books is my favourite in its own way. But this one was a bit different, and I will do my best to explain why.
While the previous books were focused on Worth’s hardships and past and present, and the relationships with the guys and various parental figures, this book seriously focuses on Worth and Dray, and not only on present but future as well. Worth is finally shedding the past, saying painful goodbyes and starting a new life with a lot of stepping out of her comfort zone. And getting out of her comfort zone for Worth means, not being tortured, beaten, abused, and having food, water and someone watching her back.
Worth’s growth and transformation were amazing to observe as the author did such an amazing job with her character. Obviously, she did an amazing job with all of the characters but this was on another level, this was Worth finally becoming who she was always meant to be, no fears, no secrets, no surviving day by day, but just going strong and taking control not only over her life but over the lives and future of her people.
There is a lot of violence, but that’s one of the main reasons I fell in love with this series. Worth kills. And she kills without hesitation and she does it magnificently. All the bad guys meet their ends at her hand. She is the Champion after all, and the Queen. Oh, and there is hot and steamy, but that another one of the main reasons why I love this series. The author is just freaking great in writing everything!!!
But the best part is the story itself and the world. The world is expanding as Worth moves south with her people and we finally get to see how the Cities look like! That was incredibly exciting, but so was everything in between. It feels like everything is coming together now. And the story itself is so exciting, fast paced, full of suspense, unexpected turns and so many moments that just had to happen, moments like, of course that was coming.
I almost forgot the warning for cliffhanger haters but then I realised that most of them wouldn’t get this far in the series in the first place. It was an epic ending to one of the best books of the year, and I’ll be dying to read the next one.
Books are best read in order, which is: The Wasteland (Their Champion Book 1), The Summit (Their Champion Book 2), The Forgotten (Their Champion Companion Novel 1), The Cities (Their Champion Book 3), and The Lost (Their Champion Companion Novel 2).
5 Amazing Stars!
“This might be a castle and I might be a queen in a tower, but this is no fairy tale. Dray isn’t prince charming, no, he’s the beast, a monster, and he doesn’t save me. I save my fucking self. This woman doesn’t need a prince, for that, just a sword and air in my lungs.”
“Did you know butterflies are strong? They have beauty and are covered in marks from life, but they still keep flying.”
Tazanna Worth. A conundrum wrapped in an enigma. Queen. Warrior. Champion. Leader. Lover. Soulmate. Woman. Human. Tough as nails but with a huge heart. A badass fighter and a fierce lover. The Protector who also needs the love and protection of her five men. While struggling with the demons and nightmares of her past, she bravely marches forward to war for those she loves; to save the North from the Cities and to rescue her men. Another amazing book in the Their Champion series. Just as good as the first two. Action packed, full of heat, heartbreak, tragedy, suspense, and even heartwarming moments, I could not put it down. Great read!!! Loved it!
The Cities (Their Champion Book 3) Kindle Edition
by K.A Knight
I borrowed this book via Kindle Unlimited and am leaving an honest review.
Is it bad that I loved the fight scenes more than the delightfully, devilishly deviant sex scenes? Because I did. They were incredibly well choreographed and cinematic. I was, figuratively, there, watching Tazana Worth carve a bloody swath through the hordes of evil-doers in the desert wastes of a post-apocalyptic Northern UK.
Is it wrong the sly, dry and dark humor made me grin and snicker? Because it did. Ms. Knight has a talent that outstrips most stand up comedians for taking a bleak moment and through gallows comedy, make it palatable. As a child of GenerationX, I have to admit, this tickled my many funny bones.
Worth is a true unique character. I haven’t met any one like her in the pages of a book before. She’s more Sarah Conner than damsel in distresss. Except, I don’t think a terminator would take her on! She is a blend of the best male anti-heroes and the best female serial killers ever, but in a good way. She is truly the vision of a fully liberated woman. I’d like to say the end goal of feminism, a woman who is more than the equal of men, willing and able to do what men can and be respected for it. I may be reading in subtext that isn’t there, but with Piper, Nan and Lera, we see that women have a lot of choice I the new world about who they want to be. Even with the hellish world, some women are now truly equal.
I have a couple of issues:
1 82% of this book is with just one of her men. That kind of defeats the purpose of a RH, right? Had the second book spent mainly with the same man, I could forgive this.
2 Their vehicles seem to be really suped up magical beasties because they never run out of gas or eed to be charged.
.
Ms. Knight has an amazing ear for dialogue and regional accents. I can hear the Deep Fried Mars Bars and haggis in many of the Northern folk.
Ms. Knight does illustrate many truths about humans. Primarily, we will always find love and always, always have alcohol! She plays with the Noble Savage trope. The Cities are a form of slavery and only the Noble Savage has true freedom. But she has an obsession with love scenes while bathing – whether in a tub or a shower or a sink. Fun and interesting
The final villain, Regina, was a great bit of word play. She’s a Queen as well, that’s what her name means for those who are word nerds. But the Peter Pan feel of the story makes up for that.
4 stars out of 5

Ok, this series has become one of my new favorites, how did I live under a rock for so long! I think K.A Knight did a fabulous job and I am dying for more Worth and Piper! I don’t always gravitate towards dystopian (or at least I have to be in the mood haha) but I devoured this series in record time. I also listened to what I could on audio and it really brought these characters to life.
So I don’t want to spoil too much, but Worth totally kicks butt in this one and we get to see more into the relationship we have all been dying for…Dray and Taz!!!! I wasn’t a huge fan of him in previous books (until he showed some vulnerability at his camp) but he totally outdoes himself in this one and thank you Katie for finally letting us have that sexy murdering crazy man hahaha. He loves Taz so much and it totally shows. I love how unpredictable he is (especially with Nan and permission haha). I totally want to whack his head sometimes while I am reading, but love the antics and the back and forth with Taz. I love that he would do anything she needed, especially go rescue her other men from The Cities. I think they are a nutty pair, which showing each other they are there through weapons, like the bombs hahaha. I was so happy to get the amazing reunion and can’t wait to see all of them again after the War is over. Hopefully they all come out of it (we know it wont be pretty since Katie does like gore and heartache – I totally say that with love). Oh and I totally bawled my eyes out again. There was a chapter that I had to keep putting down, I couldn’t continue with all the crying. It was amazing, but still, ripped my heart to shreds all over again (like the ending of book 2)
I was intrigued with The Cities in general. I think it will be interesting to see how the uprising affects the war, and I hope they knock them down a peg so Taz can win the war and things go back to normal in the North. I feel like Paradise will rear its ugly head back, since we had no idea what’s happening the bunker. I think the Captain will hurt Taz somehow, but only time will tell. 2020 is going to be bittersweet since we finally get book 4 (and Piper’s book 2) but that means the series is coming to a close and I don’t want that haha.
Definitely highly recommend this series, it doesn’t take long to fall for Worth/Taz and her gristly men. Also, the side characters in this series are phenomenal. I bet Katie could write about them all for a year and still would have more to talk about, since they all have their own stories and depth, and even some we don’t see a lot of anyway! Ok, will end my rambling now, I just can’t stop gushing about this series
Holy mother of blood and guts. This book was absolutely amazing!!!!! Lots of fighting and f*cking. Just the way I love it. I really didn’t know what to expect, I never do with this author. She continually surprises me.
Worth is on a mission to get her city men back with Dray’s help. Easier said than done. All hail our f*cking Queen!!!
I highly recommend this fabulous book/series! I’m totally addicted to it!
Once again the champion Series has completely blowed my world apart… I don’t know whether to laugh or cry… Freaking love this series and everything about it!! Worth is the most fierce , loyal , badazz , women I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. I’m legit still trying to process the awesomenes
OMG that was a freaking awesome story!!! Author has done it again!!! This is book 3 in the series and is definitely on my high recommendation series reads!!! Absolutely loved this book!!! Need more. Like now. Please!!! Seriously this series needs to be read. I absolutely loved it!!!
K.A Knight did it again. Worth’s story just keeps getting better. I love that we got to see more of Dray and Taz’s relationship in this book, as the rest of her guys were detained. The character development that continues to happen is just fantastic. Worth is still the badass Champion but we are also able to see her softer side in this book. She deals with the loose of her father and the worry she has for the rest of her guys but is still strong and ruthless. There were a few missed words here and there but honestly, I barely even notices because the story was so could. Of course, the sex scenes were out of this world hot and the amount of quotable material that off the charts. Also, we finally got to see the cross over from the companion series with Piper and her men and it was done perfectly. Knight set it up for the next book in Piper’s story, the Lost, without taking away anything from this series. I can not wait to see our it all ends for Worth and her guys as well as what happened when she left Piper behind to take care of Paradise.
I absolutely adore Worth as a character. She is just so fierce and love with her whole heart when she lets people in. The men are a great balance and the world is so detailed it pulls you in until the last word.
No spoilers of any kind included!
I’ve waited so impatiently for this book to be here and I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all when it finally got here.
The Cities was so amazing!
Heck every book in Their Champion series has been amazing and addicting as heck.
So yeah I am definitely going to recommend this book because I loved it!
Actually I recommend the whole series because it’s best to start with book one and work your way through, that way you know who’s who and what’s happening.
Ok so I only have one bone to pick with you Katie, where is the rest lol I need so much more from Worth and her men….. Man what an ending I loved her story. From beginning to end, everything including the pain made her what the world needed to help it survive, noone was better for the job for sure. Can’t wait to see more of Piper and her men now Thanks Katie for an amazing read I will definitely put this series on my re-read list!!
Wow wow wow that’s all I can say I had high expectations for this book and K A Knight has not let me down it took me straight into her world I could not put this book down as I hoped we had incredible interaction with her characters and boy did we have hot steamy sex scenes I can not recommend this enough and can’t wait to see what happens next
