Book 4: The Importance of Being ErnieClaire:I never used to think that there was such a thing as a stupid genius, but that opinion changed when I met Ernie Flynn. Ernie is smart to the Nth degree about nerdy stuff, but when it comes to women, he’s clueless. My name is Mary Claire Hammer, and I’m in love with that nerd. The trouble is, I’m also his best friend and roommate. So, while this book is …
So, while this book is named after him, it’s really about me. It’s also about Ernie finding his way in the world when things sort of fall apart around him and it’s about me figuring out whether or not Ernie is the One and more importantly if he’s the Right one. So, no matter what you read in this story about Ernie and me… one thing you can be sure of is; I will always love Ernie Flynn but it may turn out I’m not IN love with him. And that’s okay because I believe whole-heartedly, if it’s meant to be,it will be.
This book is part of the series The Flynns. It is a stand-alone with an HEA. Due to coarse language and sexual content, this book is suitable for readers 18+.
Bonus Book 5: The Importance of Being Kennedy’s
Dear Chick Who’s Reading This Sh*t,
(Or dude. No judgment here.)
I’m irritated. The book before this one was supposed to be all about me. Hell, it was named after me, but my asshat baby brother ended up stealing the show. So, this little book is all about me––about me getting my shit together, about me figuring out that Kennedy Corcoran’s my person, and about me working my ass off to convince that same Kennedy Corcoran that I’m her person too. It hasn’t been easy because my woman is stubborn. And bossy. Oh, and dominant. Surprisingly, I’ve discovered the dominant side of my woman is hot as hell. More about that later.
So, sit tight and enjoy the ride and don’t expect to hear word one about my little brother. Well, not much anyway. I’m sure he’ll get his nose in my business because he’s a dick like that.
I’m out.
Ernest Flynn
Beware! This book has coarse language and sexual content. Intended for readers 18+ and for those who want to read something a little naughty.

You know…I think Ernie is in the forefront and has surpassed David as the most selfish Flynn.
When I first started this one, I was like “oh how cute, it’s going to be a friends-to-lovers type of romance”…ehh wrong! And I have to tell you, I’m so glad it didn’t turn out that way, because if this author tried to find a way to convince me Claire and Ernie find a way to get passed his manwhore ways I’d call bullshit!
But let’s backup and rewind.
Claire and Ernest met in college and became instant friends bonding over their computer classes. Ernie has some social anxiety that Claire can seem to calm and help him in awkward situations of meeting new people or being called out on in a larger group….that is unless he’s shitfaced drunk, then he has no problem putting the charm on and getting into the women’s panties. Over the years Claire’s feelings for Ernie change from friendship to more, although I have to tell you I don’t understand why. Fast forward and after graduating from college Ernie is working a kickass job using his computer degree, drives a nice car, and has somehow managed to purchase a bit of property around Chicago to help bring in some cash. Claire moves from her small town in Iowa to Chicago with Ernie in the apartment he found for them. She’s attempting to get her game off the ground, but with working so many hours at the diner to afford the rent and utilities on the place she and Ernie are living, it’s impossible to find the time.
When Claire finally has enough of Ernie’s shit (he’s 69 a girl on her bed) she moves out and the first person she thinks is Ernie’s younger brother Ethan, who has been nothing but nice and respectful to her.
Now onto to Ethan. Ethan has loved Claire since he met her when he was 16. He’s dating other women who could be replicas of Claire because he had resigned himself to never getting the girl since she was in love with his brother. When he finally gets the chance to be a knight and rescue Claire he jumps at the chance to finally show her what she’s been ignoring for the last 8-10 years? I will say I was ecstatic to realize that Claire was not going to end up with Ernie but maybe finally give Ethan a chance…until she screws up to take the plunge and sleep with Ernie, which in turn finally makes her realize how stupid she’s been to pine away for a selfish a-hole.
All in all, this story probably would’ve gotten more stars if I didn’t have to constantly read so much about Ernie and his conquests and how much he honestly thought his so called best friend was disgusting because she gained weight. I really wanted Ernie to get his comeuppance, especially after taking advantage of Claire (by not telling her he was the landlord and raising her rent so much) and then sabotaging Ethan’s chance with Claire every chance he got.
The second book in this one is all about Ernie and how he tries to find a way back to being himself and finding forgiveness when it comes to Claire and the rest of his family.
In this one Ernie is no longer working with computers, because he no longer finds it enjoyable. Instead he is back to working at his family’s construction company, and *gasp* finds himself under the authority of a woman!
Now I’m all for a woman being a dominant in the bedroom and having a backbone. However, I didn’t like Kennedy much at all. She decides to try and have a fling with Ernie, even though he is her employee, but then she tries to treat him like shit because that’s what he’s done to other women. Oh but wait folks, I’m not done. She tries to play as if she’s a domme. The one time she tries to spank Ernie for his disobedient behavior, she smacks him too hard and too many times with a METAL ruler, leaving welts and scratches that could get infected. This ladies and gentlemen is why novices shouldn’t play in something they know nothing about.
The good thing that I can say about this book is at least I’m not constantly having to read about Ernie’s conquests.
