I loved a boy.Gavin Lodge. He was sweet, gentle, kind and he made me feel alive. Letting him go was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. A hundred times I wished I had done things differently.A thousand times I wished I had gone with him. A million times I wished he had chosen me.I didn’t. Neither did he. Now he’s back. No longer a boy, but a man. I can’t love him again. It almost … back.
No longer a boy, but a man.
I can’t love him again.
It almost destroyed me once and I won’t let that happen again.
That should be the end of it.
And maybe it would have been.
If someone wasn’t trying to kill me…

Slammed on! The next chapters from Luna and Gavin. 13 years seemed long enought but for these two? It was time.. Im not gonna lie that it was very emotional. Honestly, the Author wrote the story with being sensitive and lay down the truth about hurting.
I loved the story had shown the rough sides of bad choices. The part had stirred my emotions. Every chaptera kept me going and boy it was intense.
This was a second chance romance with perks
Patiently waiting for this book, the conclusion of Gavin and Luna’s story.
This book doesn’t disappoint, it is full of drama, suspense, laughter and tears.
Page turner, from the beginning to end, the emotions pour from each line…
Never knowing what happen next, glues to pages, and not being able to put down. Love the tension, chemistry, from the characters… keeps it real!!
A second chance romance with some mystery suspense thrown in. I absolutely loved this one. I didn’t know what I was getting into going in. So glad I read this one. Gavin left years ago to start his career with the FBI. He left Luna behind. Luna was pregnant at the time but Gavin didn’t know it. Years later Gavin comes back to town to investigate a murder. But the thing is more murders happen while he is there and they seem to center around people that are involved in some way with him. While investigating the murders Gavin is trying to win Luna back and finds out about his son. This was quite the storyline. Twists turns suspense mystery. Everything you would want in a great storyline. I absolutely loved Luna and Gavin. These two characters were amazing . The chemistry was spot on and hot. Even after so many years you could easily see that they still had feelings for one another. I loved the shocking aspect of who the actual killer was all this time. Just an overall well written book. Cant wait to read the next one in this series.
When You Were Mine is book 2 in the Stone Lake series and the conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story, and what and epic finale it was!! Completely floored, the book was oh so good, I couldn’t put it down, was hooked until the end.
Jordan Marie I applaud you. The author did not disappoint with this thrilling conclusion. I was so invested in how Gavin and Luna’s future would work out, especially with the way book one finished and left me totally stunned.
13 years later. We pick up with Gavin and Luna after 13 years apart. How their lives have changed. So many people tried so hard to keep them apart and it worked. There was no contact for 13 very long, lonely years. A killer is on the loose and has made his way to Stone Lake. Gavin Lodge, FBI Agent, is on the killers trail and it leads him back to the one placed he vowed never to return, not matter who or what he left behind.
Luna Marshall has spent the last 13 years trying to give herself a better life. In the aftermath of Gavin leaving, and the influence of her father that she never seemed to shake, Luna has managed to give herself a very good and fulfilled life. There is only one thing missing and she refuses to look deeper into why that is the case.
Thrust back into each other’s lives under these harrowing circumstances, Gavin and Luna must navigate the midfield that their previous relationship has created. Luna is not ready to confront Gavin, and Gavin is only to ready to push. However when Luna drops a truth bomb in Gavin’s lap it shakes his very existence to the core and has him questioning everything and everyone from the past 13 years.
Their’s is a love story to aspire to. For the embers of their love to still be burning after everything that they have been through and have put each other through over the years is awe-inspiring and just warms your heart.
This is a love story, wrapped in a mystery, wrapped in a thriller. The plot twists that this story takes will keep your head spinning and completely engrossed in the story. You won’t want to miss a word from this book. A fantastic conclusion to a highly anticipated duet. A great summer read!
I loved the suspense throughout this book, I was on the edge of my seat completely engrossed with Gavin and Lunas story.
It’s a whirlwind captivating read full of mystery, murder, romance, heartache, revelations and second chances. It’s utterly gripping from start to finish and I couldn’t put it down.
Gavin and Luna were childhood sweethearts we felt their connection in book 1 all teenage drama and angst. They separated then years Gavin returns to Stone Lake to catch a killer.
The pace of the story flowed well and I was intrigued as to who the hell the killer could be and what the connection was. I LOVED how the story all came together piece by piece. It was a very cleverly constructed well thought out plot.
I’m beyond excited for the next book and so pleased Jordan has decided to write a story for these characters as they truly deserve it.
Fast-paced, exciting conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story!
After the first book broke our hearts, this one tears them into little pieces before finally gluing them back together again. Thirteen years after they separated, Gavin’s now an FBI agent on the trail of a serial killer, and that trail leads right back to Luna. So many secrets, so many machinations that kept them apart all this time, so much time lost for everyone.
It’s a gut-wrenching story to read as both Luna and Gavin finally figure out the truth behind all the lies. The suspense of the investigation heightens the tension between Gavin and the rest of the Stone Lake citizens. The way it all unfolds, with a shocking twist that almost came out of nowhere, will leave you breathless by the time you get to their triumphant HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
When You Were Mine is the conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story. It picks up years after Letting You Go ended. I really liked it. It was intense and emotional at times. I loved Gavin and Luna. They were just great together. Their chemistry and love was everything. Loved loved them together!
The ending to this duet has me in my feelings. It’s an emotional roller coaster with twist and turns. The only criticism I have is I wished it didn’t end. Jordan Marie always packs a punch with her writing style. She knows how to break your heart and soul and piece it together again. This book is sexy, hot, sensually seductive, yet emotionally satisfying. It’s a page turner. Gavin and Luna will have you rooting for them. It’s told in different points of view, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a hea. I highly recommend this book.
The ending to this duet put me through all the feels and a full range of emotions!! I love that Jordan provided us both a suspenseful story but also a romance story; it was like getting two books in one! After over a decade away from his hometown, Gavin is back after the string of murders advance to the town. When he returns, he is in for the surprise of his life after finding his previous love, Luna, and what she has been up to since their time apart. While Gavin has moved up in the ranks at the FBI, Luna has become mayor of the town. As the two start to navigate a friendship while working through everything that has happened over time, they find there is a tie between the murders and Gavin. While I thought I knew where the killer was, as the book continued on I was unsure of if I was right and had my doubts and it really added to the enjoyment of reading this book. The questions that arose from the last book are answered here, and it closes out the storyline of Gavin that we got in previous books. Overall, I really enjoyed this book as well as the duet, in addition to the rest of Jordan’s books. Not only are the storylines great but her style of writing and flow of the books really add to the reading experience.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Following on immediately from Letting You Go, When You Were Mine is a really exciting, at times nail biting, conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story. With more twists and turns than you can throw a stick at, this tense romantic thriller, lives up to the promise of the first book, which was so very good. The plot thickens to pea soup level, ensuring that you are delivered shocks and surprises throughout.
I loved the love between Gavin and Luna in their first book and was rooting for their HEA all the way. This is a fabulous book and I have enjoyed every minute.
*I was given a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.*
What an amazingly remarkable book. Suspense, tragedy, and romance kept my heart racing and kept me glued to the book until I finished the last word. Congratulations to Jordan Marie for producing all the answers to our questions in this jaw dropping fashion.
In book 1 we read all about Gavin and Luna’s romance as they were going through high school. Things didn’t end well for them in book 1. Book 2 begins 12 years in the future, right back in Stone Lake, and the surprises just kept coming. Gavin has held a candle for Luna since the day he left town, seeing her again brings it all his feelings front and center. Luna has moved on with her life. She has a son and doesn’t even want to see Gavin when he shows back up in their hometown. Gavin may be in for quite the challenge. You will get all your questions answered, but they might not be what you were expecting them to be.
Second chance romance……Jordan this is my new favorite for sure! Talk about shit for luck. Gavin has life against him in regards to his real love, Luna. Can he return 13 years later and pick up the pieces? Settle in for this read because you won’t want to put it down the end! It will suck you in and squeeze your heart!
When You Were Mine is the second half of Luna Marshall and Gavin Lodge’s story. Let me tell you..it is fantastic!
Both lead characters have obviously grown up, being thirteen years later, and things have changed for both of them in so many ways, but not so much in other ways. This story reveals everything bit by bit and you find yourself so absorbed in the story that you simply can’t put it down, darn pesky things like work do interfere though!
There is so much excitement and action in this story that you find yourself on the edge of your seat quite a bit, I loved it. The suspense generated is almost a killer in and of itself as the plot seems simple enough but is very twisted…bring it on Sister!
I love the tie in with previous characters from another series, or rather..ping..that was the sound of the penny that dropped when I realised just who the Gavin really is once another character is mentioned! Very cleverly executed by this author. Plus meeting fabulous new characters being an added bonus too.
Another brilliantly crafted story by this sensational author also there will be a third book, yes I am already looking forward to reading it.
I knew book 2, When You Were Mine, was going to be epic…it had to with the ending we had in book 1, Letting You Go. I was devastated by the cliffie in book 1….did Luna miscarry baby Luvin? Did Gavin really never think of Luna and not look back? Was Awful Atticus going to replace Gavin as Luna’s love? In usual Jordan Marie style, we get twists and turns as we see the “realness” of the characters when they reunite years later. All the hurt, mistrust, doubts, lies and betrayals combine with the danger of a serial killer and the still-simmering lust and love swirling around Luna and Gavin upon their ‘reunion.’ The hesitancy Luna had about Gavin and the disbelief that he didn’t know about Joshua was totally understandable. I wanted to punch his baby makers when we found out why he signed the dotted line! Aack! To know the background of who set Gavin up to sign away all rights…shocker! I didn’t see the Betrayer coming for Gavin AT ALL. I felt sorry for Sherrif Ben, but who can compete with the love that Luvin had back in the day? I loved seeing Gavin and Luna remember the past but focus on the future. I admired Joshua’s protective attitude of his mother and how he let Gavin in a little at a time. Fool me once and all that jazz, right? There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and a couple that totally broke my heart for Gavin. I’m already invested in the characters introduced to lead book 3 in the Stone Lake series, so I hope we have their book sooner than later. Either way, I’ll wait as long as it takes to get their story. If you want second chance romance with murder, plot twists, characters you can hate, characters you love and a HEA for some, then click this book and settle in for the ride.
