Probably not a good sign when you start reading the refund policy on your mail order bride… the most brilliant scientist in the Alliance. He’s been working on a new engine to bring parity against the Coalition. But his work life balance is suffering and his superiors determine that he needs a…Companion.
They thought they ordered the perfect mate. What they got instead was Vera – a human woman whose been sentenced for over twenty counts of grand larceny and fraud.
She has no idea how to cook food for an Alzhon. She has no idea about their customs. She’s sassy, independent, and fiery. With a figure that can send you into a supernova.
The sweet, caring, cosmically handsome and trusting Zerberu should be an easy mark then, right?
Wrong.
Because there’s one thing Vera never realized in her life of theft and crime.
That a quiet alien would steal her own heart.
Zerberu is the third book in the Trident Alliance Mail Order Bride science fiction romance series within the wider Athenaverse. It can be read as a standalone, but it still shares the same universe and situations you’ve found in other books. Each book features the romance of an alpha male alien warrior and a human woman who doesn’t put up with any nonsense. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and HEA guaranteed.

I couldn’t put this one down. I loved the characters, their chemistry, and the adventure. It’s not a very long read and it has a very fast pace, but it doesn’t lack for anything that makes a great romance.
Having not read the previous books in the series the story was easy to follow. It was spicy and hot, I enjoyed this book.

Vera is a woman of many talents that has seen her share of hardships. A scheme that brought her to a new beginning and a new love. The sex scenes is sizzling hot and definitely made me wanted an alien. A must read. I can’t wait for the next book.

In this third book in the series we meet Vera who ends up being sent to mate with Zerberu. Each story is wonderful and easily read as a standalone story. This is an easy to read story about how the two very different people get along and fall in love with each other. It’s a wonderful read.

For me this was a 3.5 star story. I had a problem relating to the female lead character. She was rude, abrasive, vulgar and without any manners whatsoever. Zerberu was brilliant but extremely sheltered. He really did need a dose of reality. So any people made his decisions for him without even asking. I finally found some common ground with Vera in the last quarter of the book. I was furious with her for punching him, but that’s just how she is. I decided I really liked Gurlak, his guard, as well for telling Zerberu what was really up. So not to spoil anything, let’s just say that I loved the new Zerberu! I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
I received this book as a gift of an advanced reading copy. Having read the book I would like to give an honest opinion of what I read.
When I fist started reading this story I didn’t think that I would like Vera very much. It wasn’t the fact that she was charged with assorted crimes like theft, and other things but it is what she did after she was sentenced that had me bothered. It is the fact that she sent an innocent person off in her place and took there place instead. I kept reading though. I found the Vera to be very funny and the alien that she was to be the Companion to very sweet and innocent in the way of the world. Like most people that have a high IQ he has been more focused on what matters and that has been his work other than being around people.
Zerberu is a scientist and he is trying to develop a faster engine for their space crafts as they fight in the war. He has not been himself lately so the Commander (who is really an unpleasant person) decided that Zerberu needed a companion. When the pod arrives it is Vera that pops out of it, and boy oh boy is there ever a learning curve here.
This story will make you frustrated at times, it will make you laugh a lot as well, it will also make you cry sometimes in the bad way sometime in the good way. It wills show what the true meaning of love really is as two people find not only themselves, each other but the world around them.

This book is about a group of scientists that are on a Alliance ship with a Commander that thinks they are warriors. But all is not what it seams with the ship and the Commander. But now is the time to buy the book to find out what is going on. I will be buying more books from this author.
After reading a previous book of the author’s, I was expecting this one to be as tightly written, but to me it fell a bit short. The male character was on point, but the female character? Well, I was expecting her to be a bit more savvy, given her previous occupations. The book is still very hot and bothersome, so please give it a go!

This book is so full of action, the descriptions of everything was so perfect I could picture it in my head. I thought how Vera changed throughout the book is great. Loved Zerberu’s personality he’s not your average hero.
