Wow what a ride. While this doesn’t feel like a cliff hanger, I would definitely start at #1 other wise too much last story will be missed.
Yucatán Dead – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Evil Salazar taunts and torments Kate as she tries to free herself from him and the violence of the war between rival drug cartels in the ancient temple ruins of Central America.
After terror, danger and a fierce gunfight, Kate makes it through to join with Quinn and his men in celebrating the victory of justice…great stuff!
Like every installment in this series, Yucatan Dead is riveting. Kate Jones has come a long way, but she still has further to go to escape or defeat her enemies in the drug cartels. In this book, she escapes only to plunge into the middle of the fight. The setting is as dramatic as the action, and there’s plenty of action. Kate’s narrative voice is unique, with the ironic humor of someone who has survived hell, knows it’s not over yet, but refuses to quit. If you haven’t read this series yet, begin at the beginning with the Kate Jones Thriller Series Vol 1, the boxed set that includes Bad Spirits. I predict you’ll keep going.
Kate has been through so much in the past 10 years, you would think she’d get a break, but no – the bad guys just keep resurfacing! She is captured but then escapes, and joins up with a group wanting to dismantle the cartels. Although she would rather just go her own way, than go up against the people from her past, she knows her history could prove to be valuable in this fight.
Kate is a tough woman who will do what she can to help those she cares about. Even when all her emotions get the better of her, she brushes it off and goes off to help others. This is a great series, full of action and twists, and I thoroughly enjoy reading Kate’s story.
Good characters, good story. Easy read.
Lots and lots of action
Good read.
Now this was a book I enjoyed. It flowed well and kept me reading when I should have been doing yard work.
Reading more like a spy caught behind enemy lines than a person in hiding, the heroine rescues herself, finds her courage, and faces a difficult past. An inventive story filled with inspiration for doing the difficult and honorable thing.
Best one of the series so far.
I couldn’t put this book down! I loved the characters and all the action. The ending was kind of abrupt. I was hoping for a little more. I definitely recommend reading this.
This is the 6th in a great series of books, called the Kate Jones Series. There are two more currently in the set. All are very well done and I look forward to more in the future.
Entertaining and action packed but not too believable.
For a light read with some twists and turns fans of tales of drug cartels will find this entertaining.
scary to realize drugs lords will not allow people out of organization even when they were young and made a foolish choice.
fast paced, action, good character development, strong female
Unbelievable.
Wordy with too much mind games and not enough action
Found it hard to finish. Slow moving unsuspenful book.
Great book
