A provocative new standalone from the author of Slip of the Tongue. FINNNo matter how cruel it’s been to me in the past, I’ve never been able to flip fate the bird. I’m a romantic at heart. So when fate drops a leather-bound journal at my feet, I know I should walk away. I don’t. I pick her up, bend her spine, spread her pages. From the first word, I’m a goner. The owner didn’t give me access to … owner didn’t give me access to her most intimate desires, but I devour them anyway. Her private darkness, her candid, sensual poetry—it all goes down like warm milk. And from that point forward, I drink, eat, and sleep her.
HALSTON
I went to his apartment and let him take my picture. Just once, to see how it would feel. I’m not his to look at, to inspire, to touch, but when he watches me through his lens, it gives me a high I don’t want to come down from…
My journal is the one place I can be myself—as long as I can tie it up and put it away when I’m finished. But when Finn undoes the bow, he pulls strings that could unravel each of us.

Jessica Hawkins has done it again!!! I am just in awe how wonderful her words are that she brings to life in each and every book she’s written. The desire to go non stop reading any of Jessica Hawkins books is real people…
Finn, he needed to have his story told. I counted the days down to finally reaching release day and to have this book in my possession! What a story he had to tell…. While this is a standalone book, you get the full picture if you have read Slip of the Tongue… Totally not needed to read prior but you will know more of the history having read it.
God, I didn’t think it was possible to love Finn more than I already had…but now that I’ve finished this book…He’s the one!!! The one who knows how to treat a woman, knows what to say to make you feel wanted/needed, the patience to handle what ever is thrown his way…
Halston, well she is in need of someone like Finn… She has been controlled for the past 10 yrs by her father and ‘boyfriend’….after a traumatic event happened at the age of 15, she has been medicated to just get by…
To read their story, it just flowed perfectly and was sexy, hot and emotional…had some Highs and some Lows but most of all, it told a story of unconditional Love.
Thank you Jessica Hawkins for another fantastic Book!!!

Once again another original! . This is Finn’s story as he moves on with his life after Sadie. The way he meets Halston is unique and intriguing. I’m glad he got his happily ever after.
Yours to Bare by Jessica Hawkins a soul baring five star read. This book does contain scenes of a sexual nature and is suitable for mature readers only. Finn Cohen and Halston Fox are the main characters in this book and it’s all about their story, the struggle they face to get together and stay together as they both have a dark past that neither of them are willing to face up to. It all starts with two simple things, Coffee and a Journal, such simple things that make such major life changing events for these two people. Halston a has an addiction to coffee, its replaced her other addictions as she has a pattern of replacing one with the other to get over the darkness of her past. As well as the coffee, she writes her darkest thoughts in her journal, she has done this for several years and has found its helped her keep her dark side under control. The things she writes in there are for her eyes only, she puts them in there so she doesn’t have to face them. Until one day she accidently leaves it behind in her favourite coffee house Lait noir.
Finn is getting coffee in his 2nd favourite coffee house, he can’t go to the first as it must many bad memories for him. While sitting and relaxing drinking his coffee and just watching the world go by, he finds a journal, he can’t stop himself from reading it, could you? He reads it and he falls hard, he needs to find the woman who wrote these words, these explicit words that open his eyes and make him feel things that he was wondering if he would feel those again. He realises he can find her, and he decides he wants to devour her whole. They begin a journey of discovery, each helping each other learn new things Finn takes photos of Halston and shows her that she is beautiful and shows her she can believe in herself. Halston shows Finn that he can trust again and can grow as a person, and shows him he does have a talent, but will they be strong enough to stand apart as well as together. Only time will tell. Will they get there happy ever after? Or will they be stronger apart.
Honestly, I had no clue what this book was about! But I have read Jessica Hawkins work before, and loved it, so knew I was safe in buying a book blind (so to speak).
This book is insane! And I mean that in the good sense. Now, I don’t think I am a prude in any sense, but this book is the first in a long time that made me blush….
I loved the premise of this story. I think the idea behind it probably resonates with quite a lot of people. We all have those inner, dark desires that we are too embarrassed to share. For Halston, she writes these desires and feelings into her journal. This is all well and good, until she leaves it behind at a café. Enter single Dad, Finn!
Finn finds Halston’s journal and is instantly attracted to the stranger with the deep rooted fantasies. And he knows he needs to find out who the journal’s author is.
After some tumultuous relationships, Finn isn’t ready to rush into anything or anyone. Well that was true until the journal. Once he discovers who the owner of the journal is – he makes it his mission to meet her.
When that happens, he is instantly spell bound and couldn’t walk away if he tried.
This story follows two people who need to be saved.
Who need to be empowered. Who need to be loved.
I found this book easily relatable, as I too, have many issues with my self confidence and self esteem. It was great to read along with a character who is as flawed as I am.
Yet another amazing addition to Jessica’s work.
Such good writing. Amazing writing. Great story with fantastic characters. The sexytimez were well done. I knew this was going to be a good book right when I finished chapter one. Loved these beautifully flawed people and their beautiful story. The ending did seem a bit rushed. Overall, definitely recommended.
Another hot, hot listen from Jessica Hawkins. Loved the chemistry between Houston & Finn. So very steamy. Andi Arndt & Sebastian York hit it out of the park with their narration as they always do.
I absolutely love this author’s books. I’ve read them ALL. This was the last one I had left to read.
I enjoyed it well enough BUT there is 1 issue that really bothered me and I can’t get passed it.
I don’t like when fathers don’t take care of their child. Finn was way more interested in his own happiness and his needs and his daughter was an afterthought.
Single daddies trope I love and this single dad sucked.
This did have some very hot steamy scenes.
Finn is still devastated from his loss of Sadie a year ago, his divorce, and now limited contact with his young daughter. Halston suffered a traumatic event almost 10 years ago and has been on medications ever since. Her father and boyfriend like her calm and controlled. Her passion only comes out in the journals she writes.
Finn finds her journal under a table in a coffee shop. He is intrigued with her writing and becomes obsessed with the woman who wrote it. He is obsessed with finding her. And find her he does. When they meet, each sees in the other something that has been missing in their lives.
Halston and Finn have passion that is hot and a connection like neither has ever experienced before. They know they are soulmates. Their passion bleeds over into the photographs that Finn takes and Halston captions. Their Instagram account blows up the internet with the photos but can they handle the criticism as well as the praise if they go public? Can Halston stand up to her controlling father and the boyfriend he handpicked for her and to run his company?
This books handles the touchy subject of trauma and mental illness very well. Can love conquer all? Is love and passion enough to get Halston and Finn to the finish line with a HEA? It’s well worth your time to read this great book and find out.
