just loved the book
Shew! This story spans a lifetime, literally. It opens to “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” Relax, it’s two eight-year-olds talking about the rocks they found to skip at Pebble Beach. This is the story of Nick and Joelle. They were born on the same day, lived just feet away from one another, and are each other’s best friend. They are inseparable. They’re BFFs. Until high school when they realize that they are not only are BFFs, but their feelings run much deeper.
This book is rather exhausting. There is a lot of time spent in the early years. Probably half of it could have been condensed without losing anything necessary for the story. Both Jo and Nick are self-absorbed. Nick has his dreams and he’s unwilling to even consider Jo’s feelings. She is often unreasonable in her expectations of Nick and their relationship. She also often changes her mind quicker than you can flip a light switch!
The story drags in many parts and then all of a sudden takes off so quickly that it leaves you wondering what just happened. The basic story is great, the telling of it disappointed me.
Surprised by the twist in this book but all in all it was a great book!!
I love, love, loved this book. I immediately fell in love with Jo and Nick. I literally could not put the book down. It was such a sweet story and the characters are so likeable. This is a wonderful story about falling in love and holding on to hope when you don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. I won’t lie I figured some things out before they happened but I was surprised a time or two as well. I devoured this book in 2 days.
Every once in a while, a book comes along that really touches your soul and brings a smile to your heart. Yours and Mine by Lacey Silks Is that book. Yours and Mine is a story built on friendship, compassion, acceptance, love, loss, change and true realities. This book is one I will long remember as being poetic and powerful with a wonderful message of everlasting and true love. The character chemistry is flawless and the flow of the story, fantastic. I laughed, I cried and even cursed a few times while on this amazing journey with Jo and Nick and it is a journey I’m glad to have taken. This book is definitely a favorite and one I encourage everyone to read, You won’t be sorry. I can’t wait to read Carter’s story, I know it will be hysterical and heartfelt. Thank you Lacey for writing such a beautiful story and sharing it with the readers of the world, one of whom I am lucky to be
