A young woman with hidden desires. A cocky heartbreaker. The proposition that could destroy everything.
He’s wrong for her in all the right ways: a loyal family friend, a bad boy mechanic, the bully who teased her growing up. She’s off-limits to someone like him: a college girl, all innocence and soft curves, but most of all, his boss’s daughter. When Darcy Reyes returns home from college to … most of all, his boss’s daughter.
When Darcy Reyes returns home from college to care for her ill father, she comes face to face with Brian Kotler, the man who’s haunted her deepest desires.
But can Darcy brave the dominant form of affection Brian offers her? And when a bully from her past resurfaces with a new threat, will Darcy hide herself away once more, or have the courage to follow her heart?
If you like the heat of Madison Faye’s Blackthorn Mountain series and the alpha heroes of Carly Phillips, you’ll love Dakota Davies’ new novel.
Just like all Dakota’s stories, Yours is safe, with no cheating, and a heartfelt HEA. Due to explicit sexual content and colorful language, this book is recommended for readers 18+.

Authentic First Love
This book has ALL THE FEELS. They are young, so all the emotions are just so much larger and defining. I felt like I loved ever moment of this book with Brian and Darcy, the separation pain, the uncertainty, the utter joy in a new relationship, all of it. I liked that their first time felt very authentic; too often, “virgin” romances feel too fetishized and unrealistic. If you’re looking for a genuine and emotion-evoking read, look no further.
Absolutely fantastic, entertaining, and captivating! It is well written, relatable, well developed, steamy, and emotionally deep with drama, insecurities, character development, ups and downs, and more. The characters you will love and root for; their chemistry is off the charts. A really good read; strongly recommended!

Note: The following review is for the September 2020 updated release to this novel.
I really liked this book. There’s a sad undertone throughout as Darcy struggles to find her place in the world and escape the sins of her mother. As she finds confidence in herself after several life altering days (or rather hot, hot, HOT and steamy nights) with Brian, she experiences some heartwrenching encounters. What happens after that is uplifting and made my heart fill with joy. There are bumps as she finds her path but the ending is so sweet. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
My review in emoticons (because why not?):
This is an incredible virgin romance that is completely engaging. This isn’t one of the saucy virgin stories where the young woman is attracted to an older man and it is only a matter of time before she loses her virginity and falls in love. No, this is more of a real life story surrounding that experience and it’s consequences that involves some painful and crippling memories and emotions.
The characters are so genuine that you feel what they feel, especially Darcy. She is the young college woman trying to fit in somewhere where her past can no longer keep her prisoner. Brian, the seemingly bad boy has a heart of gold when it comes to Darcy. He is so patient, understanding and her champion that he should have a special place in heaven set aside just for him.
I truly like the book but, I will admit that there are a couple of scenes that bothered me because the depiction is so real (which is a credit to the author) so, just a heads up. Not to put you off but, be prepared and so you know, there is a very happy ending that awaits.

Darcy and Brian is Sizzling. Its never too late to explore with the person you want, even against all the odds and misunderstanding. After waiting so long, Darcey was not disappointed. I enjoyed reading this story.

Darcy is a smart college girl but she doesn’t seem to fit in at the school she at. She does well with academics but can’t seem to get on well with her classmates. When her father takes ill suddenly she rushes home to see him and see Brian a guy she has a crush on and he works for her dad. Sparks fly between them because Brian finally sees how grown up Darcy has gotten. Brian tries to fight how much he wants her but she makes it hard for him especially when he learns how innocent she is. When they do finally get together he knows that she is the one he wants but he won’t come between her and school. When she goes back to school neither of them make anything concrete about their relationship so its just open ended. Darcy is confused and ends up making some bad decisions causing her to re-evaluate whether she wants to stay at that college. When she comes back home her and Brian reconnect and reestablish the relationship and know they need to let her dad know about them. What will her dad say about them? What will she do about school?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Very emotional storyline for Darcy and Brian. Great character development with all the backstory that explains her distress and and hang ups of trusting people and making friends. Love how Brian is patient in showing and explaining how she should be treated by someone who cares. Nice ending in giving Darcy closure on so many levels, to help her move forward with life.

A delightful romantic novel. This book is a very well-edited story of a romance between two people who knew each other for years but never dared to think of the other as the one. Their character development, as well as those of the other participants in the book, were very well described and the dialogues were character and scene appropriate. The physical attraction between Brian and Darcy is undeniable, therefore the novel is a steamy romance with language to match, but it is never smutty. There is an interesting family backdrop to the story which fits in very well to our couple’s union in the first place. Darcy’s heartache stemming from her Mother’s behaviour follows her even to University, where she might fit in as far as her academic efforts are concerned but she is socially and emotionally far removed from the people around her. We see deep respect, regard and emotional attachment developing between our couple and almost from the start the reader can feel that these young people have in-fact found their soul-mate. There is an HEA, which completes the feel-good factor of this novel which I can recommend without hesitation.

This is a really sweet story and romantic as well. There are two parts that might have been published seperatedly before but that I am not sure about. I am just really glad to have them both together now as I just hate with all my heart stories that are short and end on a cliffhanger… why not make a longer story and have it complete? So this story is complete and in two shorter parts. It has quite a good storyline and the characters are well written out. It is a story that I can very well recommend. And I am also glad to be able to happily give this story four stars and I just hope you will enjoy it.

Trigger warning: dubious consent with a possible sexual assault, as a result.
What worked for me:
-I enjoyed the age gap and their chemistry
-the steamy scenes between our main couple were explicit and detailed
-I like how we witnessed her journey through college
What did not work for me:
-this story held promises by saying it was safe with a HEA. This was not the case for me and I found parts of it difficult to read.
-I wish Brian noticed her (romantically) when she was an awkward 15 year old

This was a nice story. Darcy was a bit annoying at times but she had her reasons. It seemed there was an age difference although not huge. I was a bit confused by what the Brain did that was so bad in their past it seemed like he let a younger girl down nicely. Overall thou the story was good with lots of sweet moments.

Darcy has been off at college but she returns home to look after her ill father. She crosses paths with her crush and bully, Brian. He is working for her father as a mechanic and has always been around the family in the past but Darcy remembers him as a bully and bad boy that continues to draw her in. Brian is opposite of Darcy and he knows it but she is like a magnetic force that he is always pulled towards. Obviously, time apart has not changed their attraction to one another but has enough time gone by that they can truly have a second chance? The past and its events can be a tough thing to bury or move forward from. This is a well written story with great characters that I enjoyed reading and watching them grow as they move together as a couple. Enjoy!

I loved Darcy and Brian and boy were they explosive. Yes, it’s a virgin story but they’re similar age and the connection they develop is sweet. I had a hard time connecting with them at some points and getting into the story but it was a nice read.
This was my first book by this author. I liked the book and the characters but at times had a hard time connecting with them. But overall it was a good book.

I received a copy of Yours from Dakota’s newsletter and I really enjoyed the story. The story is about Darcy, who is a virgin due to her history because of her mother. She was bullied in high school and refused to be what they labeled her. She leaves town after high school in order to go to college. When she comes back to help her dad after he had a medical problem, she reunites with Brian, the guy she had a crush on as a kid. She asks Brian to take her V-card and now she can’t stop thinking about him. She goes back to college and the guys are starting to bully her. Darcy realizes she loves Brian and doesn’t fit in with the college anymore. She makes plans to transfer so she can be closer to Brian and her dad. I thought it was a cute story and people could relate to different parts. There are some steamy bits too.
Sweet, steamy and a healthy dose of emotional depth
Yours: A Virgin Romance by Dakota Davies is a wonderfully well written virgin romance. First of all, I fell head over heels for these characters. Darcy and Brian stole my heart and probably won’t let go for a very long time. This author has a way of doing that with her characters. I have read several of her books and some of them just refuse to leave me. That’s ok, it’s all good because they are wonderful and deserve all the good stuff!
The plot of this book is emotionally driven. Darcy has a great deal of emotional baggage, yet she is strong, resilient, smart and determined despite it all. Where she struggles (and where Brian is integral) is embracing her sexuality and desire. Brian is just about as perfect as perfect can be. He intuitively understands Darcy, reads her so well even though the underlying reasons for Darcy’s reluctance and hesitancy for intimacy.
Overall, this virgin romance speaks to the heart and provides a perfect first time that is high on the sexy, comfort and care most would hope and dream for. Brian and Darcy work through the emotional ups and downs, the distance, fear and obstacles to embark on their very own HEA journey that promises truly wonderful things. This one did my heart good!
