A young woman with hidden desires. A cocky heartbreaker. The proposition that could destroy everything.
He’s wrong for her in all the right ways: a loyal family friend, a bad boy mechanic, the bully who teased her growing up. She’s off-limits to someone like him: a college girl, all innocence and soft curves, but most of all, his boss’s daughter. When Darcy Reyes returns home from college to … most of all, his boss’s daughter.
When Darcy Reyes returns home from college to care for her ill father, she comes face to face with Brian Kotler, the man who’s haunted her deepest desires.
But can Darcy brave the dominant form of affection Brian offers her? And when a bully from her past resurfaces with a new threat, will Darcy hide herself away once more, or have the courage to follow her heart?
If you like the heat of Madison Faye’s Blackthorn Mountain series and the alpha heroes of Carly Phillips, you’ll love Dakota Davies’ new novel.
Just like all Dakota’s stories, Yours is safe, with no cheating, and a heartfelt HEA. Due to explicit sexual content and colorful language, this book is recommended for readers 18+.

Growing up is never easy
I have read a number of books by Dakota Davies and liked them so I was looking forward to reading Yours. Plus the book description really looked like it could be a fantastic story. For the most part i really enjoyed the story of Darcy and Brian. It is sweet but also dirty sexy and sizzling hot. The story-line kept my attention and the characters were well written. There were a few times that I found myself not fully into the story-line but these were brief and things would pick up again shortly. Overall this was a good read.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
3.5*
I liked a majority of this story, I just couldn’t connect with the heroine. Darcy is this smart college girl who rushes home to take care of her dad and has to come face to face with Brian the man she has been avoiding because he broke her heart. I don’t want to give too much but I will say first off she was 15 he was 20 and if she was as smart as she was teased for she should realize she was too young. She also comes off as a bit of a push over, a bit timid and always questioning herself and her actions. Her and Brian did have some hot and steamy moments.

Darcy returns home from college when her Dad falls ill. Being back in town, she dreads seeing the guy she always had a crush on since he broke her heart the night he refused to refused to kiss her.
Brian is thrown back at the beautiful young woman that Darcy has become. She’s not just beautiful to him, she is smart and funny as well.
They hit it off and Brian realizes there are some underlying issues that are causing Darcy to have negative feelings about herself. When he finds out what exactly those secrets are, he is more determined to protect her and make her his for all time. But will Darcy allow the ghosts that haunt finally be laid to rest and get her happily ever after?
This story was sweet, but I just wasn’t able to connect with the characters the way I prefer. I loved the gentle protector that Brian was, but I would’ve loved to hear his backstory. Darcy is strong young woman, but I didn’t like that she was somewhat a pushover. But, Dakota can write some nice and steamy scenes for sure – my favorite was the happily ever after.
