Red never shies away from a challenge. Never. But when Miss Hannah St. John strides into his life demanding—yes, demanding—he help her, he’s certain she’s more challenge than even he can handle.Hannah is determined to transport an artifact from France—one that will change everything—even if it means working with a lawless man like Red. Nothing is more important than preserving history. Nothing. Not … than preserving history.
Nothing.
Not even the touch of a smuggler who inconceivably makes her stomach twist.
When it becomes clear the irritating bluestocking will do anything for this blasted artefact and needs saving from herself, the earl-turned-smuggler steps in.
Carting a cursed stone across the country with a know-it-all woman is not Red’s idea of fun, particularly when their journey runs far from smoothly…so why does he find himself enjoying her company just a little too much?
You’re the Rogue that I Want is book 1 in the Rogues of Redmere series. It can be read as a standalone story and has a HEA. It includes some steamy content.

I enjoyed the engaging characters & the plot moved along at a good rate. All in all a very good read & look forward to Book 2 in the series. I highly recommend the book.
It starts out with him and his gang fighting the ocean to get some things in so they can load them up and hide them. Then he meets Miss Hannah St. John, she has been sent by her father to find him. Her father right now is in France but he has an artifact he needs to be removed fast. Red says not interested until he sees Miss St. John going aboard another ship that has thieves. So he takes the commission and sends his ship to France. They come back safe but all kinds of bad things have been happening. So he decides to take her and the stone to London and the museum there. Needless to say, it does not stop there. There are a lot of surprises.
I enjoy the comradery between them. She likes to have things her way but sometimes she almost gets them killed. A good lesson there. It was easy to read and kept you on edge. The characters were wonderful, Red tries to be patient with her. But he can’t wait to go back to Cornwall. Her father is not around so she does everything by herself. She makes a post carriage ride of about a week by herself. Scary, huh. I do recommend this thrilling book. But you know for yourself how amazing this writer is.
I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
This was a fun, easy read. The characters were entertaining although Hannah could be frustrating at times. The secondary characters were also fun. Hannah’s aunt being my favorite. The story moved along nicely. There were a few spots that seemed unnecessary and slowed the book down but they were few and far between. I will definitely be looking to add this author to my collection! “I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.”
What do a smuggler and bluestocking have in common? A piece of history that could open the mystery of civilization. This is one of the most amusing journeys from Wales to London. One mishap after another delay their journey. Rain, mud, transportation, shelter, cows, injury, sickness, etc. You have no idea what’s going to happen next. Very entertaining with a hero that’s willing to do what it takes to make a young lady happy. A sigh worthy hero!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I enjoyed reading this book watching Hannah (bluestocking) and Lord Redmere (smuggler) fall in love. And Aunt Ellen is hilarious. This book was well written, with a little humor and romance. I received an ARC for my honest opinion.
Hannah St. John is a well to do young woman who tends to work with her dad because her mother died when she was young. Hannah traveled by herself to find a smuggler to help her get an artifact into England from France. She gets a letter from her father who tells her what smuggler to hire. We then meet Red. Who turns out to be the Earl of Redmere that happens to smuggle on the side. This is an adventure and romance of these two trying to get the Egyptian Stone back to her home town.
I was shocked that we did not get to see the adventure of the guys getting the stone. It just skipped over that and the ship was suddenly back with the stone. The ending was good but it somewhat felt abrupt maybe I missed that the brother was trying court someone. They go back and forth a lot between Red and Hannah. It was interesting enough that I would read more in the series.

This story is a lot of fun. What appears to be a cursed stone is actually a matchmaking stone. It’s this stone that causes them to spend so much time getting to know one another. What’s impressive is Hannah, a young woman who doesn’t care about the bounds of society, but about preserving history. She demands to get her way, and it seems as Red work his way into her heart, she has worked her way into his. It’s the ending that surprises me, because even in today’s society, this is not even done.
Adventure into Love!
This is a delightful romp from one place to another, firstly to collect an ancient artifact and then to safely bring it to to her father and his team so that it can be studied.
The lady is a Bluestocking by the name of Hannah St John and her partner in this adventure is Red, an aristocrat cum smuggler. Both are absolutely delightful characters and they kept me totally enthralled and entertained with their antics and adventure. I couldn’t help but love them.
There is a bit of steam but I thought it was written in good taste.
This is a page-turner of note. It had me reading into the wee hours and I am happy to recommend it.
I requested and read a free Advance Reader Copy (ARC) and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
Terrible editing.
Liked this book. The main characters were funny and believable. You wanted to like both characters and the minor characters were interesting as well. It made you feel like you were living the book right beside each and everyone of them.
I am enjoying reading about the Redmere gentleman. Hannah is very different from myself and it made it enjoyable to see the world through her eyes.
Loved it!
I always enjoy reading historical novels and this one is really good. A saucy heroine and a handsome Rogue/Duke. Good story, exciting and fulfilling.
The author took the time to develop the characters and their relationship. Lovely read!
It was entertaining. Largely tame. Every time it introduced an intrigue, problem or possibility of tension, it just offered the initial lip-service description but then never let it become anything. So, in the end, it was simply an average romance that could have been so much more. If you’re looking for purely light romance, this one’s for you.
Entertaining light reading. Perfect for those days you don’t want to think too hard.
A bit unbelievable but interesting about travel in England during this period. Glad that I did not live then!!
