Red never shies away from a challenge. Never. But when Miss Hannah St. John strides into his life demanding—yes, demanding—he help her, he’s certain she’s more challenge than even he can handle.Hannah is determined to transport an artifact from France—one that will change everything—even if it means working with a lawless man like Red. Nothing is more important than preserving history. Nothing. Not … than preserving history.
Nothing.
Not even the touch of a smuggler who inconceivably makes her stomach twist.
When it becomes clear the irritating bluestocking will do anything for this blasted artefact and needs saving from herself, the earl-turned-smuggler steps in.
Carting a cursed stone across the country with a know-it-all woman is not Red’s idea of fun, particularly when their journey runs far from smoothly…so why does he find himself enjoying her company just a little too much?
You’re the Rogue that I Want is book 1 in the Rogues of Redmere series. It can be read as a standalone story and has a HEA. It includes some steamy content.

Adventurous spirit and likable characters
I started “You’re the Rogue That I Want” over Thanksgiving and was loathe to put it aside to cook dinner! If I could have just curled up and read the whole book through, it’d have been a great holiday. Red and Hannah were fully developed characters perfect for a slow burn romance with a citrusy climax. The English country, seaside, and bustling city settings were all beautifully described, and the plot was cleverly worked. I highly recommend this one to historical romance fans. While the end is adequate for a romance, it is the only thing that kept the book from receiving 5 stars. It feels a bit gapped and rushed, missing complete satisfaction. However, I am certainly looking forward to reading the next volume in the Rogues of Redmere series!

A delightful Regency romance set in Cornwall where smuggling is the order of the day, Red discovers that the persistent woman wanting an artifact recovered from France, will not take “no” for an answer. When he turns her down, he is appalled to find her making other less savory arrangements. The end result is that Red accompanies Hannah St John from Cornwall to London to finally deliver a stone to its end resting place, but the journey does not run smoothly. Hannah is an avowed bluestocking and Red can only come to one conclusion – he really appreciates her intellect and stubbornness and even her incessant arguing. The story basically revolved around two people, but the supporting cast of characters are just as interesting an entertaining as Red and Hannah. Red is a strong hero and I really loved that Hannah had the ability to upend his way of thinking. As logical as Hannah is, she also needed Red to force her to look to the future. The book is adventurous and interesting and the plot kept moving along quickly. I previously purchased a copy of this novel, however, I also received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
Quick-read story of Red and Hannah. Enjoyable and different premise. Have since read the remaining books in series. I received this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! It was well written and entertaining. I would recommend it. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
A well written story but it lacks a bit in plot. It is very simple. Lacks depth to the characters but they develop nicely through the story. Hannah annoyed me most of the time with her lack of respect for Red. She insults ham a lot and does not react to what he says. That brings them in trouble a lot of times and that was annoying for me.
I like the writing style and the read was easy and enjoyable.
Hannah St. John finds herself in the small Cornwall village of Penshallow after a long journey on her own, seeking help from the infamous smuggler, Red, to bring a priceless Egyptian artifact from France to England. Red is uninterested, as he has no need for more money; he’s an earl, after all. Red is careful to keep his smuggling endeavors quiet and wholly unconnected to his life as the upstanding Earl of Redmere. Of course, Red’s smuggling ring is just a front used to get spies and supplies into France to aide efforts in the war against Napoleon, though even the Home Office, though aware, cannot acknowledge the operation, so the dangers in being caught are just as real. But when Hannah’s determination to retrieve the artifact nearly results in her kidnapping, Red decides to listen to her plea for help a bit more closely. Red has absolutely no interest in the historical meries of this artifact, but winds up agreeing to help Hannah anyway, since she is on her own and he is concerned she’ll wind up with more criminals. Once the artifact is retrieved, Red winds up accompanying Hannah to London to deliver it to the national museum, encountering heaps of bad luck along the way.
I was very unimpressed with Hannah’s arrogance, attitude, and need to have things her own way, but she does at least realize she’s being ridiculous and starts to straighten up as she gets to know Red more. I thought this one was a bit anticlimactic, but I was eventually satisfied with the resolution; I would recommend it.
I received an ARC via Booksprout. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Patience, while amusing, tried my patience from time to time. I am definitely Team Nate on their journey to discover love. I loved the HEA and the humorous spots throughout.
She needs to transport a item across France and he is shocked when she demands his help. He is shocked when she is so determined to do what she needs to do. Will he fall for her? Will they make it through all the different situations? See how they get on

This was an absolutely delightful romantic romp. It had all the essential elements that make for a great, historical romance read. The story line was interesting, and the characters will complex and rich with life. I enjoyed this new first-in-series immensely!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review…we have the The Earl of Redmere and a bluestocking Hannah. Hannah needs help to retrieve a stolen artifact and she gets Red to assist along with his friends. This is a slow building love affair and funny. Grab a copy and enjoy the story because you will.
This is dramatic, romantic, engrossing, entertaining and funny. Watching Red and Hannah slowly come to see what lies underneath the persona they first encountered is funny and sweet. Red really is a character, with a charming personality and great sense of humor. Hannah is a sweet, naive woman with a wicked sense of humor who does a lot of growing during the journey to London. I highly recommend this book.

Understandably the best era written book I have ever read. The book was lively, delightful and at times humorous. The characters are well rounded and developed. The story line and plot was excellent. It is about Hannah retrieving and delivering a stone from France to London. She meets Red a smuggler to retrieve the item and to escort her back to London. The trip takes twists and turns but never a dull moment for these two. This definitely a must read.
I voluntarily reviewed and received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
Emotionally thrilling, action packed, sexy and fun romantic adventure filled with danger, secrets, excitement and passion…. was so enjoyable to read could not put it down. The setting and charters are both intriguing and engaging making this journey both highly entertaining and a must read… loving this series.
The Earl of Redmere and his team of smuggling rogues have been approached by bluestocking and history lover Hannah to retrieve a stolen Egyptian artifact from France for the British museum. From the beginning Red’s friends think the artifact is cursed. A series of mishaps happen on Red’s journey with Hannah to bring it to London and he starts to feel the same way. But they also can’t deny their attraction to each other. Hannah is so obsessed with this stone and pleasing her father can she consider another life with Red? There was plenty of humor and suspense in this first Regency romance in the series.
You’re the Rogue that I Want is book 1 in the “Rogues of Redmere” series and it is one I really liked , you want to read until you get to the end. What happens when a Bluestocking meets a smuggler? This story is about Miss Hannah St. John and Guy Kingsley ( Red ) the eighth Earl of Redmere who is also a smuggler . Hannah’s father an archaeologist who has been researching items Napoleon’s army found in Egypt and brought back to France,he thinks he has found a treasure and he is desperate to sneak into France get it and take it to England he entrusts Hannah with doing so.She goes to Red but he at first refuses to help, when Hannah is almost kidnapped he changes his mind. Will these two get the artifact to England? What happens?
Amusing historical read
I enjoyed the funny moments and somehow comedic story with this one as well as the adventure the main characters got themselves in. Both characters fit the bill, and are both likeable. There is also romance interjected, the passion and sizzle between the H and h is slow burn, not the insta love thing that usually is being depicted in most romance stories. Overall, an easy and fun read without much complication within the story.

Meet the Earl of Redmere in the 1st book in the Rogues of Redmere series
Red never shies away from a challenge.
Never.
But when Miss Hannah St. John strides into his life demanding—yes, demanding—he help her, he’s certain she’s more challenge than even he can handle.
This is the first book in this enjoyable and well written series by Samantha Holt.
This is another of the can’t put down variety that draws us regency fans to this author’s works. I actually read book #2 of this series first and got a glimpse in it of these characters. Although each book can stand alone they may be better read in the correct order.
I gave this book 4.25 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development.
This is an enjoyable series that’s not to be missed.

This was just an ok read for me. I can’t say I was much of a fan of either of the main characters. The storyline was ok but it did not hold my interest well and my mind did wander. In my opinion this author has definitely written better books.
This is the first in the Redmere series and sets up the background information of the major characters. It gives insight into their behavior and the plot. Red and Hannah are thrust together accidentally. They initially find themselves at cross purposes but as time goes on realize that their goals are the same. The story includes a lot of drama, humor and “accidents”, that all serve the purpose are driving the lovers closer together.
