Hunter Caldwell has never encountered a challenge he can’t conquer. He’s built an impressive real estate business in New York, succeeding against all odds. He shatters every obstacle in his way…until now. He only has one option: asking for help the one woman who is off-limits…his best friend. It all starts as pretend… The first kiss is unplanned, but Josie surrenders to him instantly, driving him … instantly, driving him crazy. The second one is in front of his tight-knit family. They have to be convincing, but he’s not pretending at all. Her taste is addictive, the scent of her skin is intoxicating.
On their first night together, he barely stops his fingers from pushing down the straps of her dress…
Their second night is sexy as hell, intense and unforgettable.
How can he stop the lines from blurring when all that really matters now is Josie?

Hagen claimed my heart two series ago and has yet to let go. I fell head over heels the first time. The second time was a reminder as to why. Josie and Hunter are a sweet contradiction. Destiny laid the ground work, it only took a push from fate for these clueless hearts to catch up. You’re the One continues my addiction with my one click button and is explanation enough as to why Layla Hagen reigns supreme on my MUST HAVE list.
5 star review of You’re The One by Layla Hagen
Layla Hagen is a relatively new author to me and why that is I have no idea. This is a friends to lovers story which was captivating.
The writing was strong and the characters were easy to relate to and I found myself totally invested in Hunter and Josie’s story from the first to the last chapter.
This is a feel good book that left me with a smile on my face, it was also steamy and passionate. Hunter ticked the boxes for me, hot as sin and an alpha who set my heart racing.
I loved that their relationship is based on a strong and devoted friendship that builds into a passionate and explosive love. As circumstances bring them together, the chemistry between them intensifies.
However what will happen to their friendship if they cross the line and things don’t work out, will it be ruined forever?
I enjoyed the banter and fun between Hunter and Josie and it made for an entertaining read.
5* Not Fake Marriage Stars
Layla is one of my favourite authors and I was so excited to begin a new series in the lives of the Winchesters family, their cousin Hunter and his best friend Josie.
Hunter and Josie have been best friends since school and both of them have been hiding their feelings for each other in a civil way. Everything changes when Hunter, who is a British Citizen, finds out that his visa will not be renewed and his only hope of staying in America, where he is a highly successful businessman, is to marry his best friend Josie. Faking their marriage was not as easy as it seems given the chemistry between them, convincing immigration agents and the consequences surrounding Josie’s career.
The journey that Hunter and Josie face to get to their HEA is emotional and tests their long-time friendship. The chemistry between them was undeniably hot!
The secondary characters in the story are wonderful and I am so excited to get to know them better in whatever Layla brings us next.
Once again Layla had delivered a super sexy, slow burn, friends to lover’s romance with characters you will fall in love with.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about Hunter and Josie and how their friendship developed and grew. Hunter having issues with his visa but his aunt and cousins stand by him as family does. It was a good start in the series and a standalone read.
Layla Hagen has a wonderful talent of writing beautiful love stories while intertwining the importance of family in the mix. I absolutely love Hunter & Josie’s story and can’t wait to read the stories of the Winchester siblings! Way to go Layla!
A swoon filled romance that a spent an afternoon and a latte enjoying.
This was a quick romance that was light and sweet and had just enough spice to have me fall in love with it. Sometimes I don’t want all the crazy drama, I just want a book to give me two people and let me watch them fall in love and be warm and fuzzy.
This book delivered that eloquently and in a way that let you enjoying every single page.
I loved this sweet and steamy, friends to lovers/marriage of convenience romance! Hunter and Josie have been best friends since they were young. Hunter has always looked out for Josie, and now that he needs help, she doesn’t hesitate to be there for him. They have always been close, and never wanted to consider that their love is more than that. But as they perform like a loving couple, boundaries are blurred, and they soon want more than a temporary arrangement, but don’t want to risk losing their close bond. I loved how their relationship grew, how they enjoyed being together even more, and realized their love was so much more than they ever imagined. I also loved the terms of endearment they used for each other, not sure why, but I did. I really liked how close they are with their family, making it hard to lie to them, and putting them at risk. That made it so much fun watching how excited everyone was for them, and constantly putting them in awkward situations. This story did not have alot of angst, which made me so happy. It had the perfect blend of humor, heart, and passion. Narrators, Joe Arden, and Maxine Mitchell did a fabulous job bringing this story to life. I loved how they made each character come alive, being adeptly at voicing so many characters and making them all distinguishable. Mitchell was so great at portraying all Josie’s misgivings, and excitement, and Arden made me swoon with his portrayal of possessive, fearless, sexy Hunter. This is a great start to Hagen’s new, Very Irresistible Bachelors Series. I really enjoyed this captivating, entertaining, and sizzling romance, and can’t wait for Ryker’s story next!
Hunter and Josie have been best friends for 15 years. She is an attorney he is a real estate mogul.
Hunter was born in England and does not have US citizen ship and did not get his visa renewed.
He asks Josie to marry him so he is not deported. The gist of the story is best friends to lovers.
Who knows you better then your best friend of 15 years and will do anything to help you out of
this situation. Josie is the best friend that decides to help Hunter. The hot sexy Hunter agrees to
Josie’s demands but she has her doubts if they can pull this sham marriage off.
There is not much angst to the story just a sweet swoony love story that takes you on the journey
of Hunter and Josie finding each other. Layla Hagen has a way of always giving you that HEA ending
that puts a smile on your face. I did an audiobook with the sexy voice of Joe Arden which compli-
mented Hunter’s sexy touchy feely vibe and personality making you swoon. MORE JOE

This is a cute friend to lovers romance. Hunter and Josie have a great relationship that you can tell has always hinted at more. Suddenly married, these two have a hard time keeping their attraction and feelings for one another at bay. Luckily, the feelings are mutual. With a little drama from an over zealous Immigration officer and a great cast of characters with the whole Winchester clan. Book one of the Very Irresistible Bachelors Series is put; irresistible.
“I’ll turn this into something beautiful after you’re going to break my heart.”
“Maybe you’ll break mine.”
They are destined to be happy forever. And fate will give them a little boost, so they can find out.
Josie and Hunter have known each other since school and are best friends. She has become a successful lawyer who fights for a partner position in the law firm where she works. And he is a very successful contractor.
Despite living in the United States since the age of four, Hunter is British. And the easiest way for this confirmed bachelor to get a Green Card is to marry the woman of his dreams. She just doesn’t imagine how difficult it will be for him to think about divorce.
Josie thinks she has overcome her adolescent passion for her best friend. She just doesn’t know that the feelings she has for him are reciprocal. But nothing like a good honeymoon to make the chemistry explode, while the couple wonders if they have what it takes to build a happily ever after. Or if it’s all illusion and lust.
Cheeky in the right measure, funny without being overdone and with that touch of sweetness to make you sigh from the first to the last page. It is the first book I read by the author and the writing surprised me. There was no exaggeration or lack, the rhythm of the narrative was perfect, the reading was fluid and pleasant from start to finish.
A perfect book for lovers of romance, able to make you smile and warm your heart. All at once.

This story is one of the sweetest loves stories.
Hunter and Josie. Best friends. Each other’s ride or die. The one that you would do anything to protect. And so the adventure starts.
What I loved about this story was watching their relationship fertilize what was already growing. Love. Respect. Friendship. Passion. It was all there and they just needed to cultivate those feelings. Add a fake fiance, a marriage of convenience and two people that have the utmost respect for each other and you know you have found the one!
Layla wrote such a feel-good story. Such a five star read.
You’re The One by Layla Hagen has become my one! This story is such a steamy slow burn! I loved every minute of reading it! I couldn’t put the beautiful story of Hunter and Josie down.
Josie is a young lawyer with a longtime crush on her best friend. Josie’s best friend, Hunter is a handsome, broody New York business man with the hots for his best friend. When Hunter enlist Josie’s help, what started out as pretend might now love.
I have not read a book by Layla that I didn’t absolutely find captivating! You’re The One is a must read! You’re The One will be live on all platforms February 4th! Just in time for that Valentine’s Day love bug! You’re The One will definitely have you swooning!
You’re the One is my first book by Layla Hagen and it definitely will not be the last. This is a best friends to lovers story and this author had me hooked right from the beginning with her storytelling. I thoroughly enjoyed Hunter and Josie’s friendship, his immediate trust in that friendship when he went to her for advice with his problem. I loved that Josie is a strong, independent career woman who can take care of herself and does not come across as a damsel in distress; in fact, Josie is the one that is there for Hunter in his time of need. Hunter is swoon worthy especially when he continuously springs surprises on Josie just to make her happy and makes her heart melt. The dialogue in this book flowed seamlessly and I loved seeing their interaction with each other and their friends and family. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series.
Layla Hagen has done it again. I think we have a new start to a wonderful new series. Hunter and Josie’s story was a page turner and I literally couldn’t put it down. At one point in their story, I was in tears because of what they were going through. Any book that can make me feel what the characters are feeling, is a TEN in my book. The entire Caldwell family was a hoot and I can’t wait for their stories to be told. This is one of those books you want to continue reading to see what happens for years down the road. Looking forward to the next book! WAY TO GO LAYLA! Another home run knocked out of the park!
A sweet romance between friends.
Hunter And Josie’s Journey Is So Much More Than A Fake Marriage Story. Everything Is At Stake From The Very Beginning, So Their Journey Is Emotional And Tense.
This book is the first in a New York-based series about the Winchester family. Here the family is introduced, beginning with a close cousin.
Powerful and headstrong Hunter Caldwell, thirty-two, owns one of the largest real estate development companies in country. The Caldwell name is famous in New York. While Hunter’s professional success and generous charitable efforts define him as a powerhouse to be reckoned with, many remember his late father’s success and subsequent failure in real estate development, quietly sneering about parallels and gleefully anticipating Hunter’s downfall. Hunter is driven by the desire to avoid the downward spiral that destroyed his family and hopes to restore the family’s good name.
Hunter’s life changed at age fourteen when his father died and his mother returned to her native England. Hunter didn’t want to leave America – the country he called home since the tender age of four – and it worked out that he earned a scholarship at a private boarding school. Alone, grieving, and adjusting his new social status, Hunter had nobody to turn to. A loner, he quickly learned to defend himself against bullies who nicknamed him ‘the stray.’
Months later his Aunt Amelia relocated to the same area along with his four cousins and he felt the warmth of family again. The Winchester family had its own issues they were dealing with, but they embraced Hunter and pulled him into their family circle. Amelia, his maternal aunt, became a second mother to him and his cousins felt like siblings. They became an important part of his life.
Three years later another person entered Hunter’s life. His best friend Josie. Like him, she attended school on a scholarship and was alone. Her family lived out west and had humble means, so Josie showed up in clothes that stood out against the expensive threads worn by their classmates. He saw her being bullied one day and couldn’t stand by to watch. The scrawny girl, two years younger than him, stuck with him like glue after that, much to his chagrin. But over time the young girl became his friend, and somewhere along the way she became his best friend. Fifteen years later, he routinely invites her along to business events that would otherwise be boring. Josie is fun, adventurous, and they can talk about anything. Like him, Josie has been embraced by the Winchester family, so their lives are inseparable. But lately it has been hard to be near her, especially when she shares too much information – information that sets his imagination off in directions he would rather not venture. He has become too keenly aware of just how beautiful his best friend is, and he won’t let himself do anything to ruin what they have.
Josie Gallagher, thirty, is on the brink of achieving her life’s goal of becoming a partner in her law firm. She has put in six years of grueling hours, but she loves work and thrives with the structure and purpose. Once she makes partner, the insane competition, unending work days, and personal sacrifices will be well rewarded.
Josie misses her family in Montana, but she loves her life in New York. She hopes to be married and have kids one day, but none of her relationships have gotten too serious – perhaps in no small part due to her devotion to her career. She is thankful for the Winchesters, who make her feel so much a part of their family. And of course for Hunter. Her relationship with Hunter is complicated. She crushed on him for a long time before mostly accepting that they will only ever be friends. Still, sometimes her hopes have her wondering if maybe Hunter has feelings for her, too.
When Hunter learns that his visa will not be renewed, that his entire life may be ripped out from under his feet, he puts his best people to work on a solution. There is no easy answer. But the easiest solution is marriage.
Hunter and Josie’s journey is so much more than a fake marriage story. They have been friends for fifteen years, their lives intertwined. Faking a marriage is one thing, but convincing immigration agents is another. Hunter and Josie risk everything to keep him in the country. He risks deportation from his family, friends, business, and his home country of twenty-eight years. She risks jail time and her career. And perhaps most importantly, they risk losing their friendship as a result of pushing the bounds. Everything is at stake from the very beginning, so their journey is emotional and tense. Yet their story becomes even more complex when both Hunter and Josie face personal challenges before they have acclimated to their new normal – whatever that is. As they navigate their way to understanding what they mean to one another, the couple will make you laugh, cry, and cheer for their HEA.
Hunter and Josie’s fake marriage story is steeped in angst, steam, and friendship as the couple struggles to keep Hunter in the U.S. The POV alternates between Hunter and Josie. The book is very well-written. The plot is complex. The characters are well-defined. There is a large cast of characters introduced which will play into the remaining books of the series. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Enjoyed the story and the characters.
It was interesting to see how the two of them made a plan that didn’t last long. I enjoyed the whole story and loved the family.
A relaxing afternoon read with wonderful characters.
this book is a disappointment. The potential is there, but never developed.
