This is a fast paced sweet romance on Percy, The Neighborhood Chef. A novella that will take you on a quick journey as Percy finally meets his match in someone who wants to take a chance on the quiet man. She teaches him that his past is not all his fault and that he deserves to move on and be happy. Book 5 in this series is a little steamy with a beautiful dose of romance.
Percy and Bev were a great story that had me rooting for them from the beginning. I liked their chemistry and the way they were together and the spark that happened every time they were together.
This is a quick read but a strong storyline and characters. Percy, a chef, has sworn off love for the time being due to an awful recent divorce. He fills his time mostly with work at the restaurant owned by a friend of his. As the story progresses, you come to find out why he chose to work where he does while learning more about his past.
Bev is a sassy woman who comes into Percy’s life at what seems just the right moment. She’s a meat vendor and visits Percy to impress him with her selection from local farmers.
As a mini foodie, I did enjoy the fact that the characters were immersed in the food world and catching a small glimpse of that was fun.
Bev and Percy’s instant attraction can’t be denied and you soon hope they indulge with each other! Some feisty and frisky scenes make this quick read a fun and naughty read as well.
Give it a whirl with a glass of wine!
Loved this hot little story about a chef and meat vendor! Seeing Percy fight his struggles from his past to get what he wants was inspiring, and I loved how Bev boldly went after what she wanted and did not relent. I’m excited to hop over to Your Neighborhood Cowgirl to see what’s next.
Really loving this series set in the Neighborhood. This time we get the mysterious chef Percy. He keeps to himself, punishing himself unnecessarily for his past. Bev, who is Noah’s cousin, is a strong, intelligent woman that knows what she wants, which is Percy. Their connection is blazing hot, we also get a bit of drama, some heartfelt moments, and a wonderful HEA. Another hit for a great series.
Can he forgive himself first to be with her
Your Neighborhood Chef takes us back to the town of Mercy and to The Neighborhood Bar family. This is the story of Percy Wilkins who has been the chef at the bar for the last 5 years. He holds a lot of secrets about himself including that he comes from a background of haute cuisine, having owned his own 2 Michelin Star restaurant. After his wife left him in a bitter way he has been broken. So he sold his half of the restaurant to his business partner and moved to Mercy to lick his wounds. He has a stable life at the bar working and working some more. He does do a few things after hours but women are not one of them. As far as he is concerned he has a selfish streak that would ruin all other relationships so why even bother.
In “calls” Beverly James, Noah’s cousin. She works for her family’s meat vendor business which sources meat at various locally based farms and sell it. She called to set up an appointment to meet with Percy because Noah had mentioned that the bar was looking for a new meat vendor. When they meat Bev is a firecracker to say the least and they do have a spark between them. The meat samples she brings are good and they decide to do a 2 week trial.
Bev’s company invites Percy to attend a 3 day culinary expo in the city. So Percy and Bev end up being conference friends, as they drive together into town and stay in adjourning rooms at the hotel. Let’s just say that the doors on both sides of the adjourning rooms end up open, a couple bottles of wine get drunk and some walls come down.
Bev is a really great for Percy as she decides to remove all obstacles to them having a relationship herself, which Percy is not quite sure about and cannot believe she did it. However, he is still not budging and finally opens up and tells his full story to her. Bev accepts what he says, tells him that he should forgive himself because he did not know about something that contributed to the break-up of his marriage and then walks away. This gets Percy thinking more about his situation and what he has felt and believed the last 5 years. It also allows him to think about what he really wants for his future and how it may not be getting Michelin stars but being the chef at The Neighborhood Bar and surrounded by people that make up a “family”.
Tarrah Anders has once again written a wonderful short story packed with so much emotion and fantastic characters. There are some characters from the previous books in the series that add to the story but do not over power it. I really enjoyed coming back to the town of Mercy and getting to know another Neighborhood Bar family member.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
each book is better than the last

Totally loving The Neighborhood series! Percy’s book is no different. A nice quick read that takes you back to all the friends we know and love. When Percy meets Bev will he get his happily ever after??
I love these steamy sweet quick reads from Tarrah. We meet Percy/Perce, The Neighborhood’s chef. He has basically moved to Mercy and spent the past few years cooking and giving his all to making the kitchen at The Neighborhood awesome. And one fateful day he takes a call from Noah’s cousin, Beverly, about her meat. And so we have their ‘meat cute’. Bev makes him feel again. To think about more than cooking. To think maybe he deserves more. Loved it!! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Percy is a laid back kind of guy and he’s not looking for love until Bev walks in to his restaurant as a new vendor. After they spend some time together at an event, he starts to rethink the chance of a romantic relationship. Can they go back to their regular lives when they return home or will they get their HEA? Great characters, a fun story line so grab your favorite drink and see what’s cooking in this chef’s kitchen.

A short quick story to read a story that held my interest until the end, the fifth book in the Neighborhood series. I enjoyed reading Percy and Bev’s story. This is the first book by this Author that I have read, and I want to read the other books in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Percy’s the chef at The Neighborhood Bar. He had a nasty divorce five years ago, and has no plans to jump back into the dating pool. Bev’s cousin owns The Neighborhood, and she meets with Percy about sourcing meat for the restaurant. They attend a business expo together, and things get out of hand. And by out of hand, I mean hot. Despite the physical chemistry between them, then come back home and pretend nothing happened. Percy has to confront the demons from his past before he can move forward. This is a great addition to this series. The books are short, but the stories are complete, the characters are well developed, and there are some recurring characters in all of the books. I’m looking forward to the rest of this series.

This is another book in The Neighborhood series. Meet Percy who is currently the chef st The Neighborhood, the town’s restaurant and bar. He has left everything behind for a very simple life for his forseeable future. He is happy though and after his mistakes in his past, he will take.this happiness. This works until he needs to look for a meat vendor for the restaurant and Noah’s cousin, Bev comes armed and ready for the job. They decide it is best as a trail arrangement for now. Percy is heading to the city for the cooking expo for the weekend and Noah asked last minute about Bev. Percy picks Bev up and all he can think about was the need to keep his hands to himself for the weekend. The weekend brings about its own surprises which changes things for our characters. Can they get their weekend back? Can Percy let Bev into his past in order to be part of this future? Another well written story in The Neighbourhood series for Mercy. Enjoy!

This story has a good storyline and good characters but I would have loved to have it a little bit longer. It felt while reading it quite short (as it is) but still it was not missing any essential parts per se but a bit more detailed mostly towards the end would not have been bad. But overall the story was good and it was well written with really few typos, but they can always appear in ARC versions. So four stars to this one from me.

Percy and Bev’s story is heartfelt and warm. Percy doesn’t let anyone come close. But that changes when they both attend a culinary expo in the city.
It is an intriguing and steamy read.

3.5 stars ***. Percy is the chef at a neighborhood restaurant and bar. His partner Noah runs the bar and introduces his cousin Bev to him as the representative of high grade beef and locally grown produce. Percy and Bev go to a conference and that triggers some feelings between them. He has some significant baggage that is hindering a relationship. Nicely written novella and flows well.

A fun story of a gal who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say it.
This was very enjoyable to read. Percy (a restaurant chef) and Bev (a meat supplier) went together to a business conference and ended up have a short casual fling. I loved the fact that Bev was the first to make the move on Percy. She knew she wanted him and she let him know. She wasn’t clingy but casual. It was a nice change to other stories of women who can’t have just fun. Not every hookup has to have the big L. That is not to say she didn’t care for him but was good to let him come around to his emotions and some pass issues with his ex-wife. This made the story more believable to me. They were both mutually attracted to each other, but it wasn’t a huge ‘I love you’ right away. Everything happened in a very believable way.
Another plus, this was entirely in Percy’s POV. Too many author’s lack the guy’s view and voice whereas keeping the story only in a female’s POV. I find stories in a male’s POV more refreshing and insightful. This wasn’t a long story; took me about an hour to read. I haven’t read any other stories in The Neighborhood Series. The other supporting characters had past stories but I definitely didn’t feel like I was missing anything. But I will be interested in continuing to read other stories in this series.
And finally, I loved the cover of this. The model caught my eye and is my swoony book boyfriend. The HEA of Your Neighborhood Chef was sweet too! Overall, I can’t think of anything that would make this less than 5 stars: Book worth chef, swoony cover, sweet but confident gal, a nice quick read and an HEA.

Percy is a laid back individual. After his disastrous marriage he wasn’t looking for love but in walks Bev and he is rethinking relationships. This story is sweet and touching. Percy deserves so much more and Bev brings out the best qualities in him. Will Bev prove to be the key ingredient that will have Percy tasting all the flavorful experiences life has to offer?
