Max Bennett is a successful man. His analytical mind is an asset to his family’s company. That’s how I describe myself in my professional bio, at least.Outside the office, I shed the serious persona as fast as I can. Out-Of-Office Max is carefree and fun. I adore being an uncle, and spoiling my nieces rotten. I’m happy with my life. Mom can ask for more grandchildren all she wants, I have no … she wants, I have no plans to settle down any time soon. Or ever.
Then fate tossed Emilia Campbell back into my life.
I remembered my childhood best friend as a fun-loving goofball, but now, she’s a sensual woman.
A sensual woman with a sick grandmother to care for, someone who could use my friendship more than ever. So all my questions about what could happen between us have to stay secret. I can’t risk ruining the friendship, despite all my dirtiest fantasies.
She says her childhood hero-worship for me is over. I swore I wouldn’t turn my panty-melting charm on her. It’s exactly the kind of challenge that makes it inescapable. But once we give in to temptation, can we salvage what we had, or can we find more?

enjoyed the book
I love the Bennett’s, great family, great relationships and I love how they “adopt” friends. Emilia and Max were childhood best friends and they meet again many years later and lo and behold they are attracted to each other. This was a nice story, there was no external conflict here, it was more the push pull between Max and Emilia and their own uncertainty about their feelings that created the conflict. That and of course Emilia works for every penny she has and Max has more than he can spend and wants to lavish Emilia,
When I read the summary on this book I got really excited. I mean, childhood friends reconnecting and having off the charts chemistry? SIGN ME UP! The start of the book was promising as she was his physical therapist but the actual meat of the story fell a bit flat for me. I found myself getting a bit bored around chapter 14. I ended up skimming through towards the end….
Your Inescapable Love by Layla Hagen is the fourth book in the Bennett Family series, it if a friends t lovers story. Once again Layla Hagen has delivered wonderful characters and an incredible story, proving that she is an amazing storyteller. I love the Bennett Family and wish that I was related to them, who doesn’t love all the love that surrounds a big family. Your Inescapable Love is the story of Max Bennett, successful international brand negotiator for Bennett Enterprises and his childhood BFF, Emilia “Jonesie” Campbell. At nine years old Max and Emilia become best friends, when Emilia wanders into the Bennett yard after losing her house key. Emilia had just moved into the neighborhood with her grandmother, Grams, following the death of her mother and the abandonment by her father. Emilia loved the Bennett family, and wished she could be part of the Bennett. Unbeknownst to her, Emilia is the first “honorary Bennett”. Emilia and Grams move to Montana five years later. Max and Emilia lose touch with each other, until Max needs physical therapy to rehabilitate an injured knee he got from skydiving. Emilia has not had the best luck with love, her fiance backed out of their wedding three weeks prior to the big day. Emilia has her plate full, Grams has early onset Alzheimer’s disease and Emilia pays a caretaker for Grams while she is at work, so that she does not have to put her in a nursing home. As Max’s physical therapy progresses, so does his relationship with Emilia and she confesses to Max that she has realized that she has loved him since she was nine years old. Just like all her stories, Layla Hagen has once again included bittersweet and poignant moments, including Emilia’s search for the father who abandoned her and Grams, because Grams asked her to find him. There are also the plot twists that are a constant in her stories. There are so many heartbreaking moments in Your Inescapable Love, it was such a wonderful story to read. I loved the relationship between Max and Emilia, it was built years of trust and friendship, and laughter at their shared memories. Will Emilia allow herself to love again, will she find herself worthy of love? Layla Hagen has delivered a sizzling friends to lovers romance, so glad that Pippa reveals, that she was the matchmaker behind the relationship. I love the Bennetts and happily ever afters.
Max & Emilia have quite an amazing story. I loved it
Oh those matchmaking Bennett’s are at it again. Emilia and Max were those 2 kids that met and an instant friendship was formed, they were 9. That initial first meeting melted my heart. When Emilia moved away, they lost touch. Jump ahead 15 years and Max needs physical therapy, imagine his surprise when Emilia is his therapist. There is such an amazing comfort and connection between these two, can they keep a professional relationship during Max’s therapy? This is almost a second chance romance yet when they were kids, they were best friends, love wasn’t discussed. Emilia is a fabulous character, always working to be strong to face the challenges placed in front of her, losing her parents and now struggling to help Grams with her illness. She hates to show weakness but she has insecurities. Max is that cocky sexy man that didn’t see long-term relationship in his life. I loved experiencing his revelations about Emilia. These two show you that “puppy” love can be real love. All the while we get to spend more time with the entire Bennett clan. I am loving this series and all the fun, sexy romances the Bennett clan deliver.
Max and Amelia are so friggin cute and I loved that they were best friends as kids. Max is such a sweet and funny guy and I liked the contrast of him compared to his siblings that have already gotten their books. Max’s relationship with Amelia was easy, lighthearted, and casual since they were very close friends as kids, and it was clear that their was an undeniable attraction between them as adults. Their relationship was nice and perfect. Max was so supportive of Amelia and the hardworking woman that she was while being so caring with her grandmother who is suffering from alzheimer’s. You also get to see how close Max is with his sister Alice and kind of kid he was growing up in the Bennett household. I really adored reading this book and can’t wait to move on the to next Bennett to become a victim of Pippa’s matchmaking skills.
I also want to note that my favorite scene was when Max is driving with Amelia and Pippa in the car. Loved it.
This book was beautiful. It was a great introduction for me to Layla Hagen’s writing. I am definitely going to be reading more of her work.
I love books that are childhood friends falling in love. It is such a romantic notion, and just quietly – one I am hoping for my own daughter….
Emilia and Max were best friends when they were nine years old. Max knew from the very first time he met Emilia that he needed to protect her. So that’s exactly what he did.
Emilia ended up moving away as they got older but often wondered how her childhood friend was and where his life had taken him.
Fast forward and Emilia is a gorgeous woman working as a physiotherapist, looking after her Grams who is suffering from Alzheimer’s and she has some major abandonment issues.
Working one day and checking who the patients for the day are, she is stunned to see her childhood best friend’s name on the list. Surely it couldn’t be the same Max Bennett….?
When her past best friend walks through the door, he is no longer a boy. He is a stunning man. A man that she cannot take her eyes off. Their chemistry is through the roof… only this time it’s not just kid chemistry – there is serious adult sexual chemistry going on!
I really enjoyed this book and it was an easy read. The characters are written well and easily relatable.
I am looking forward to going back and reading the earlier books in the series and to read more of Layla’s work. Would definitely recommend this book to romance lovers.

Favorite Quotes:
I need to fill my free time with something. Judging and gossiping fit the bill.
You also haven’t had much luck with men. I could be cocky and say that it’s a sign you had to wait for me, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself.
Girl, I’m jealous. Make sure you tap that as often as possible. There comes a time when you’ll only be able to do it as often as your arthritis allows you to.
It’s different now Max. We’re dating. You’re supposed to think I fart rainbows and never have morning breath.
I have an Emilia sensor. Goes off whenever you’re nearby.
My Review:
Reading works by the talented scribe known as Layla Hagen is a reward I give myself when I have earned a treat or feel in need of respite from reading books filled with conflict, angst, and tension. I eagerly await the arrival of her new books with the greed of an only child at Christmas waiting for Santa. Your Inescapable Love is currently my favorite Layla Hagen book ever, and her best work to date. The storyline was pleasantly entertaining and the writing was incredibly hot and deliciously sweet. I adore Ms. Hagen’s feisty heroines and sexy yet tender alpha men. Emilia and Max were childhood friends who reunited nineteen years later as adults and totally adorable as a couple. I relished their witty banter and flirty exchanges. Written from a dual POV, it was breathtakingly sensual, endearingly sweet, and totally delightful.
The Bennetts are a joy to get to know. Mom and Pop Bennet raised a group of independent individuals who have eclectic tastes but have remained true to the traditions instilled in them as children. Love is overflowing with this family and there is always room for honorary editions. Ms. Hayden welcomes readers with open arms into her stories. She gets it. She delivers from her heart revealing and pleasurable reads. Max and Emilia take a trip down memory lane that goes from innocent to provocative really quickly. A friendship that began at the age of nine when an adventurous boy met a brokenhearted, shy girl and appointed himself her protector, picks up where a fifteen year hiatus left off. Emilia has grown into a beautiful woman. Her job brings her up close and personal with the boy she never forgot. An accident reunites Max with the girl of his dreams, but will he finally admit she stole his heart at nine years old? Not only did Your Inescapable Love deliver an unforgettable romance, it also touched on a subject that is dear to my heart. Alzheimer’s is never easy to live through. Both my grandmothers struggled with the disease and it leaves a lasting impression and takes an emotional toll. I totally related with what Emilia went through with her grandmother.
