I know what people say about me. Eric Callahan, ‘The Shark’. I own it.I’m a powerful man. My sharp business sense earned me that nickname. My façade is my armor.Underneath is where I keep the devotion I have for my daughter. Since her mother died, I’ve devoted my life to her. Expanding my business on the West Coast is one way to ensure I build the legacy she deserves. And that’s all I plan to do … that’s all I plan to do for our three months in San Francisco.
Until I meet Pippa Bennett.
I swear, I didn’t mean to start flirting with her. It was a complete accident. So was continuing.
I can’t resist the pull between us any more than I can change the tides in the Bay. We have the same sense of humor, we have chemistry for days, and she’s as kind and sweet with my daughter as my family is. This is fast spiraling out of control.
She’s a divorcee, I’m a widower. Neither of us was prepared to take a chance on love again. Besides, we always had a time limit. But as it grows closer, I can’t help but wonder–can I let her go, or could this one be forever?

Great writer! This is a book worth your undivided attention!
A great summer read!
I want Pippa to be my friend. She is a lot of the glue in the Bennett family, she is also the matchmaker of the bunch but in this story, her siblings turn the tables on her. Pippa is an amazing business woman but her first husband really did a number on her and left her emotionally scarred, believing she’s not worthy or ever going to find love. When Eric Callahan comes to San Francisco to expand his business, his daughter Julie becomes the catalyst to put him directly in Pippa’s path. Julie is an aspiring jewelry designer so Pippa offers to help coach her before she starts a design class. Eric is jaded, he lost his wife in a car accident that almost took Julie too. He’s focused solely on Julie and giving her the best life possible so connecting with Pippa isn’t on his radar but he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. There is great chemistry between Pippa and Eric with Julie providing a great foil to them both with Pippa’s siblings assisting to get these two together. But can they get past their baggage and open their hearts to love again and possibly being hurt? I love the Bennett family and Layla Hagen has a fabulous writing style that makes me feel like I’m living the tale and that these characters could be my friends. A wonderful balance of love, humor with just the right amount of sexiness and drama to keep me turning the page.
Favorite Quotes:
This man is eye-cupcake with a side of chocolate sauce, and if he talks about playing Belle for his daughter for one more second, my ovaries might jump him.
Tell me about you, but please, make an effort to find something vile and repugnant. So far, I’ve learned that you get along with my daughter, are funny as hell, and have a body made for sin. Bad combo for my determination to remain a monk.
His caresses speak of promises, his kisses taste like dreams. I believe every single word because he is this kind of man.
My Review:
Your Forever Love is my favorite Layla Hagen book of the eight I have read to date. This couple and their sweet and sexy story were just adorable. The plot was a fun, tender, and sensual second chance at romance for a young widower with a child and a divorcee. I have enjoyed every book I have read of Layla’s, but this one ranks at the top of her very satisfying shelf. The main characters are endearing, as are most of the secondary characters, the entire Bennett family is lovable and compelling in their own right. I found the storyline and writing to be so addictive I didn’t want to put my kindle down. It ran smoothly like a movie reel through my head. Written from a dual POV, the writing was humorous, sweet, sensual, and best of all – it was relatively conflict-free and totally entertaining.
The Bennett family are a symbol of what every family should aspire to be. United in life, bonded in heart and a force to be reckoned with. I received an ARC of Your Forever Love in exchange for an honest review. Pippa has been a favorite character of mine since meeting her in Your Irresistible Love. Her heart is large enough to include not just her family, but co-workers and anyone in need of TLC. Her vulnerability also made her an easy target and in the process left a bruised soul. Eric knows about pain and loss. His experience has left him a protective single father with a good head for business but no time for love. What I enjoy about Layla Hagen is her knack for turning darkness into sunshine. Her emotional stories are full of wonderful characters and give hope and happiness in times of hardship. Food for the soul.
