You Send Me by Jeannie Moon, is book #2 of her beautiful Compass Cove series. Jordan Velsor is the elementary school teacher that every child wants. Lately, her life has been falling to pieces. Her single parent father is in hospice care, and she caught her fiancé in the act with his secretary, the week of their upcoming wedding. To make matters worse, she’s terribly sick, and a falling tree just took out her car, almost hitting her too. That’s when big, strong, dependable Nick Rinaldi comes to her aid. He’s good at that. Nick has always been a protector. That’s why he was a doctor in the Navy, until an insurgent with an AK47 changed Nick’s life.
They’re in the middle of a non-perfect storm. Compass Cove, Nick’s grandparent’s house, where he also lives, and Jordan’s bungalow, that she rents from his grandparents, are being slammed by class 5 hurricane winds, and will be followed by a blizzard. Nick assumes his “doctor” mode, putting Jordan in her bed, and camping out on her sofa to provide around the clock care. The storm intensifies and they move to the grandparents’ large home. Nick believes Jordan is the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. They both try to tamp down their mutual attraction, but unsuccessfully. Jordan recovers from her pneumonia and returns to teaching. Nick joins a local pediatric practice.
Life is complicated. Nick is tortured by the fact that he stopped the insurgent attack in Afghanistan, but not before causalities occurred. Jordan is tortured by her high society, no morals ex-fiancé’s betrayal, and by her father’s terminal illness. Compass Cove is supporting them both. Will that be enough to allow them to love themselves, and each other? Jeannie Moon is a master storyteller. You Send Me is a joy to read, and enjoy. Beware, once you start reading, you won’t stop!
Jeannie Moon is quickly become one of my favorite authors and her stories have made me fall in love with the North Shore of Long Island.
Awesome book
great read with an unusual setting.
This book is for light reading. Not quite realistic, but will distract you from the “real world.”
This is definitely a “feel good” book. Jordan, has caught her fiancé in bed with a coworker the day before she was set to marry him. Jordan feels she should have seen the signs, but thinks there is definitely a problem with every male on the planet-so when she meets her landlords son after some pretty crappy weather and what could have been a much more horrible accident, she feels it’s just her bad judgement again. Nick suffers some emotional trauma as well, as he is recovering from being injured while working overseas as a doctor with the armed forces. Together, as they work though their problems, we are left with a sweet and heart warming love story. I would definitely add this to your list of summer reads! – By Victoria
I really want to live in Compass Cove. I want to go for coffee at Rinaldi’s cafe only to be talked into a full meal by Lina. I would really love that. But I digress…
I think my favorite part of this book is that event thought Jordan was so sick and looked her worst, Nick still flirted and thought she was the most beautiful woman.
Nick is so sweet and caring. Who wouldn’t want the good doctor?
A beautiful love story.
3.5 stars
Heartwarming and sweet! You Send Me was nearly the book equivalent of a hallmark movie. A sexy, broody, but endlessly sweet doctor and a teacher with a kind heart recovering from a disastrous engagement come together in this emotional story. Surrounded by wonderful friends and family in a town where everyone looks out for each other it was easy for me to find myself wrapped up in Nick and Jordan’s story.
While I loved the sweetness and the serious swoon going on there were moments that just sort of dragged for me also and I’d find myself not quite as drawn to the pages for a bit. Overall though, the heartfelt emotions were a thing of beauty and when I was hooked I was HOOKED. Nick and Jordan have near instant chemistry, but with the baggage each of them carried they kept things to a slow simmer for a while. Even with the slow burn they were absolutely adorable together every moment.
You Send Me by Jeannie Moon
Love hearing about connection with the compass-we have many in our possession.
Jordan is about to get married but…she had found him with another woman…
Story also follows Nicky who’s staying at his grandparents house at the beach who also rent out the house Jordan lives in. She found her new pet helped fill the void.
He’s recuperating from surgeries to his hip and there are more to come.
Love the very descriptive details of the area-love the ocean and water scenes.
He, an ex Navy doctor came to her resuce during the storm when she had just left her car with supplies to help make her better, when the oak tree fell on the car.
She not only had a chest cold but bronchitiis. He helps take care of her and her dog during the storm.
Love how she treasures her dog and father and allows Nick to help her out with both.
There is a lot to this story! Such tender caring moments shared. Major misunderstandings occur after Nick’s visit with her father…he’s attracted to her and she to him but they are still hiding things from one another.
She wants her father in hospice to die happy and to show him how she will be loved after he’s gone. Adult situations, swearing and sex scenes. Love how realistic this is, the location and learning new things. Would love to read more from this author. Love hearing of the connection the compass has to this whole story-priceless! Funny scenes and hilarious ones when she meets his whole family for dinner and she stays longer…and yes very tragic teary eyed scenes as well.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end along with ‘about the author’.
Didn’t realize this was a series because I read it as a stand alone and it was perfect. Will probably get my hands on the first book.
Received this review copy from Tule Publishing via Negalley and this is my honest opinion.
Favorite Quotes:
The dog sighed— sighed her annoyance at Jordan. A dog with an attitude. Didn’t it figure? Gertie practically rolled off the plush cushion and settled on her back on the blue patterned rug. Her short little legs were straight up in the air, feigning death.
Nona was wringing her hands, and when she reached in her pocket, Nick thought she might break out her rosary. Whenever someone was sick, Lina hit the beads.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want a wife and kids, he did, but the Navy was his first wife and she hadn’t let go easily.
Even her dog was in love with him. As if she was staking her claim, Gertie laid at his feet and rolled over with a moan. The slut.
He wasn’t afraid of much. In fact, Nick could only think of one thing that truly scared his grandfather. His grandmother.
My Review:
You Send Me was a slowly developing, tender, sweet, and somewhat angsty read with frequent bites of amusing humor and wit, and just a tiny bit of steam. It is always refreshing to me when the main characters aren’t in constant conflict with each other but are miraculously kind, nurturing, and supportive of each other – why is that such a rare occurrence in novels? I adored these characters, they were people I’d like to know and spend time with. The storylines were relevant and the writing was fluid, easy to follow, and held my interest. I’m enjoying this sweet series and look forward to a return to this pleasant community and circle of friends.
I did things a wee bit backwards here as normal, I read book two in this series before I read the first book…. so yes folks it is okay and each one can work as a stand alone. This book was such a good romance to me and it would have been a five star read except I got a little bit lost in a few spots. This book began with a Jordan Velsor sitting on the beach trying to figure out how she is going to recover from finding her fiancee` nekked with is secretary right before the wedding. OH and she is suppose to accept it and marry him anyway. YEP, Not happening. Then there is Nick Rinaldi. Retired well medically discharged naval officer who happens to be a doctor. He is there in Compass Cove to recover and heal from several surgeries from the war. There is an instant connection between the two of them that they do not even realize. Part of it from him helping Jordan when she is sick. The other part is physical attraction and also I think something else is there, a kinship of sorts. There are wonderful side characters like Nick’s grandparents and ALL his family. We also have the town’s history that in itself is a beautiful story that I would LOVE for the author to take time and write that book…or maybe she has i need to go and look and see.
There is so much more to this book than what i have talked about. I started reading this and never put it down. And I went and bought the first book so now I will know what I missed to catch up as well. This is another one of those books that an author is able to pen a story so well that I am wanting to find this quaint fictional town of Compass Cove to visit for a summer and find it’s magic.
Two smart and likeable people are thrown together by circumstance with the potential to build a lasting relationship…what’s not to like. I enjoyed this story, it is one I can see happening. Jordan is a strong, smart woman who doesn’t want to depend on anyone. Nick is a person who, despite his baggage, is the perfect person to depend on. To me, this was a story of two very real people that was more every day than extraordinary situations and I loved that. The story brought both tears and laugh-out-loud moments, plus meddling family…what else can you ask for?
I really enjoyed this story and the visit to Compass Cove!
So there are some people who are not going to like this story (that sounds bad but keep reading!). It’s pretty angst free, so there isn’t a lot of drama to move the plot. Instead it is all about the people – their interactions, developing feelings, and growth as they come to terms with their issues in order to move forward. And because that growth is a pretty big deal, there is a bit of time spent in their own heads. It’s their own issues they have to overcome, not an outside force, so there is a lot thinking and feeling.
Which also means there is a lot of back and forth, internally and between the two of them. Both feel the connection but they are scared to get involved for different reasons. Unfortunately the pull is strong enough that they can’t stay away either so there is a lot of yes/no…yes on getting together. That growth helps take care of it, and gives a pretty darn good HEA, although it takes some time and I know that sometimes I’m in the mood for that push/pull but a lot of times I’m just not.
Hopefully you’re still with me because I don’t want to scare anyone off, since I really enjoyed the book (I just know that it isn’t for everyone) and like other Moon books the characters make for a feel-good read. Nick is an honorable man with a big heart, which is what leads to a lot of his troubles. He takes things a little too seriously and struggles with some things that happened while he was in the military. Jordan also has a big heart but her failed engagement has her hesitant to trust in men again. Especially one who is obviously keeping something from her. It’s just so hard to resist someone who is ALWAYS there when you need them, doing exactly the right thing … drat that man for being too awesome!
Both Jordan and Nick have their reasons for feeling the way that they do but it is only together, with good communication, openness, and trust, that they have any hope of having a future (sounds pretty spot-on, eh?). You Send Me is a slow-burn romance with all the feels that you could ask for … and a hero that you’ll find yourself head-over-heels for in no time!
(You don’t have to have read Then Came You to enjoy this book. While there are returning characters there’s not really a lot of carry-over other than the friendship between them.)
**Review given honestly and freely after receipt of a review copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**
This is an incredible romance novel that covers heartache, healing, and relationship issues. This book was truly believable and so real it keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more information. Jordan Velsor is an incredibly strong woman who’s experienced a great deal of heartache in her life. Nick Rinaldi is a hardworking, kindhearted, soldier/doctor who served in the military, and suffers PTSD because of his service. This is a book that draw you in and make you want to learn more about Compass Cove and all it’s residents.
Jordan and Nick are perfect for each other. So many feels with this story, well balanced, full of emotion and heart.

Compass Cove #2
Pneumonia is not fun…it is painful and it can kill you…so Jordan Velsor is a lucky woman to have Dr. Nick Rinaldi check on her just before a big storm sets in…perhaps even more than lucky?
One thing leads to another and before the two know it they are in a fake engagement that begins to feel a whole lot more real than either thought possible. Jordan wants Nick to be more open and Nick is not willing to verbalize about some of his demons so there are a few tense moments along with sadness, loss and big decisions to be made by both.
I like this small town community that feels like family and know there are many more stories that can be written with the compass of Compass Cove at the center of the story. I am glad Nick finally shared with Jordan but at one point wrote “I don’t understand her leeriness” and guess that I felt she was a bit too protective and wanted more from a war veteran than perhaps she should have. Anyway, I did enjoy it and loved the couple together. I wish them happiness and much love in the future!
Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4 Stars
WOW!! I loved, loved, loved You Send Me by Jeannie Moon, book two in her Compass Cove series. Once again she made me fall in love with her hero and heroine, Jordan and Nick, not that it was difficult to do. Nick has been watching Jordan since he returned to Compass Cove. He missed being able to run after his surgery. He needed to figure out what was next for this former Navy pediatrician with a bit of PTSD. Life had thrown too much at Jordan. She cancelled her wedding after she caught her fiancé with his pants down while in his office with his secretary. Her only family member, her dad, was in hospice care and she was not ready to lose him. And now this elementary school teacher was sick; not with the cold she thought, but pneumonia. Thankfully Dr. Nick and his grandparents, her landlord, watched over her as she recovered. Through a misunderstanding, Jordan’s dad thinks she and Nick are engaged.
There is definitely magic in the town of Compass Cove, magic that helps Jordan and Nick find themselves and each other. There is definitely chemistry and attraction between these two. This story played with my emotions, wondering if these two would find their happy, ever after. These two characters grew so much closer during their journey of finding their “true north” and their true love.
I totally loved reading this book and really had trouble putting this book down. Ms. Moon wrote a wonderful story, creating amazing characters, keeping the story interesting, making me forget the world around me and did not let me go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers and cannot wait for the next book in this amazing series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a charming, feel good romance that was low on angst. It was pretty tame, but enjoyable, even though at one point I want to yell at both Nick and Jordan to make up their minds! Overall, a nice way to spend a few hours.
Once again, this author proves that she is a very talented storyteller.
We go back to Compass Cove, the town where everyone knows you, and the legend of the compass that promises that you will find your “true north”.
The main characters are elementary teacher Jordan Velsor, and Army veteran physician Nick Rinaldi. Her father is in hospice , dying from pancreatic cancer, and Nick is recovering from injuries , not only physical but also emotional.
I appreciated that Ms Moon gave us complex individuals in their 30s.
While the storyline is engaging, the thoughts it provokes is what I liked most.
The story is not only about love but also about trusting all of yourself to another person. Opening up your heart and feelings is not easy, but the results of sharing who you really are and what you feel is what helps one have a fuller life. Specially when you find your “true north”.
We also are reminded that the brave men and women that serve our country, suffer not only physical injuries but also emotional and psychological ones. They need our support upon their return, something we must not forget.
Thank you , Ms Moon, for another wonderful story.
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley and Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
You Send Me by Jeannie Moon, is a wonderfully written small town romance. (4.5 stars)
Jordan Velsor, a school teacher, was supposed to be marrying the love of her life, until she caught him cheating on her. Nick Rinaldi, a doctor and military veteran harboring guilt, visiting his grandparents who live next door to Jordan, falls for Jordan and steps in to help her when she becomes sick as a massive Nor Easter comes literally crashes around them.
Jordan’s father, George, is dying. With her being sick, she is unable to visit him. She asks Nick to visit as well as to check on him in the nursing home, and their “relationship” gets assumed and blown out of proportion…next thing they know, Nick and Jordan are assumedly engaged.
Compass Cove is known for the history of Jordan’s ancestors, where a mysterious, yet magical, compass given to Lucy Velsor mourning her beloved husband, who had been lost at sea, reminds people that “hearts meant to love will always find each other”.
Will Nick be able to let Jordan in and seal the fate of the compass?
