loved it. Very charming.
I thoroughly enjoy escaping into Susan Mallery’s small towns, and Happily Inc. is no exception. I’m partial to the sexy artist as hero as well as the quirky small town characters. I like the escapist bits and the humour – it’s not so much realistic as it is convincing that it COULD be realistic : )
I am a romantic…ergo….love Susan Mallory. Just a cosy“ happily ever after” to curl up with. I particularly like these series when there are old friends included in each new book.
Susan Mallery does it again!
I’m so looking forward to this new series. The first book in this series had new and interesting characters as well a new location and a great storyline. I can’t wait for the next book! Thanks Susan for another great book.
Well written! Enjoyable read!
I enjoy Susan Mallery’s books and this one was no exception. It caught my interest from the start and I enjoyed it tremendously. I look forward to reading more in this series. Highly recommend it!
I liked this intro to Happily Inc. Not as much as I enjoyed the Fools Gold series, but I can see this town growing on me. Always love the wedding planning themes.
Nick, from the infamous Michell family, is an artist between jobs. Pallas owns “Weddings in a Box”. Both are gun shy and are avoiding getting involved and commitment. However, circumstances throw them together and Nick comes to work for Pallas. Not that he needs the funds, but she does need his expertise and him…A well-written love story that has enough events to keep you hopping. Loved it!
You can not go wrong with any Susan Mallory book…I read all her books….never sorry .
You Say It First is the first in a new spinoff series. For readers who met the Mitchell brothers in the Fool’s Gold series, you’ll love getting to know them in these books! Pallas Saunders is the new owner of a wedding planning business called Wedding in a Box, but the more she works with Nick Mitchell and his out of the box, creative ideas – the more she realizes how much she enjoys being challenged with new themes. The secondary characters in this story will keep you laughing, and a few will tug at your heartstrings. I loved the concept of this series, and can’t wait to dive into more! Susan Mallery has outdone herself once again!
The first in the Happily Inc stories. I’m a sucker for anything involved with wedding planning so I wish this was a picture book! Mallery’s signature characters’ great dialogue and chemistry make this a series to look forward to.
You can’t go wrong with this author. Every book is enjoyable.
It was awesome
As always, Ms Mallery delivers. A nice twist to a wedding planner theme, throwing in a yummy artist! One has a witch for a mother and the other a deceitful, self-centered father. A woeful but also uplifting story with quirky friends and enough laughs to keep you turning the pages.
Psst! C’mere… *beckons you over*
Wanna know a secret? *looks earnest*
I think I’m turning into a sap the older I’m getting *blushes*
*looks agog*
Whaaa?
You mean to tell me you already knew?
*palms face*
I’m so embarrassed…
Anyway, I digress. Back to our regular scheduled programming – aka this book!
I’m so full of the warm and fuzzies right now. Seriously, peeps, can’t you feel the love? *sighs* Oi, I really need an intervention *snorts*
Welcome to Happily Inc, a town dedicated to being your destination wedding location.
It’s funny how life turns out, isn’t it? Running Wedding in a Box wasn’t in Pallas Saunders plans. But I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. And, somehow I just don’t see Pallas working in a stuffy bank – family business, or not.
Trying to live up to her mother’s expectations hasn’t worked for Pallas so far. You only have one life, maybe it’s time for Pallas to continue on the path that makes her heart happy. (Note to self: it’s never too late!)
Sculptor Nick Mitchell is still trying to decide where he belongs. The best word to describe his family dynamics is well… *taps chin* complicated.
Unsure about his own destination, Happily Inc gives Nick somewhere to lay his hat for the time being. An added bonus is being able to reconnect with his brothers (we’ve only just scratched the surface with these two), but what is it they say about idle hands?
Working at Wedding in a Box opens his eyes in more ways than one. Pallas lights a fire in him he has always feared. Passion comes with consequences in his world. But will one touch ever be enough?
Oh, my lady bits (or girl parts as Pallas likes to say – girl after my own heart *winks*) really loved Nick. I was all aflutter *snorts*. Together they made me smile, sigh and swoon (one of my favourite sayings that).
Each battling their own demons, when they come to the fork in the road will they travel together or continue alone?
Susan Mallery is a new-to-me-author of 2019, and I can’t wait to continue with this series. I’m already desperate for one character’s story. I lost my heart to him immediately.
YSIF is a great intro to a new series with characters that I’m already invested in. I was left wanting more.
Oh, before I go. I have to share with you one of my favourite lines from the story which made me laugh out loud:
“Take advantage of me,” he urged. “You’ll like it.”
Trust me, you will *winks*
I think this is the first book I have read of the Happily, Inc series. It’s fun and I always try to get the next one to see how things progress with the community and the main family.
The pace was good and the characters were well defined and fun. It was a good read.
Love every Susan Mallory book, especially this series.
This is the first book after the conclusion of the Fool’s Gold Series but is written in the same vein and uses some familiar characters plus new ones. This book is so very fun and the characters are delightful.
LOVE THE ENTIRE SERIES
