If you’re like me and can’t get enough of Tuttle and Amanda, then you’ll be thrilled to read this DELICIOUSLY sexy sequel that will pull at your heartstrings and leave you with a huge smile on your face!! Don’t miss it, and if you haven’t met Tuttle yet…start with JUST FRIENDS and binge on this Monica Murphy wickedly hot and unique series!
Sometimes I crave a love story of two people who were meant to be, no matter what. And with You Promised Me Forever, Monica Murphy gave me exactly what I needed. I have adored Jordan Tuttle since the Friends series of books and now we get him as an adult with the yearning he has for Amanda Winters just as fierce as ever.
I can’t thank Murphy enough for allowing me to be there when Jordan and his Mandy find one another again after 6 long years apart. But make no mistake about it, there is plenty of push and pull and angst where these two are concerned. That still has not changed but it’s what makes them so irresistible all these pages later.
Monica Murphy always knows how to write the most lovely of romances. One that is full of heart and soul and simply makes me smile. I will always love Jordan and Mandy and I’m thrilled the author decided to give us just a little more of their love.
You Promised Me Forever is wonderfully-written and a true treat for the Author’s devoted fans. There’s even an Easter Egg that I will always welcome since my first days reading Murphy’s books.
5 warm and fuzzy stars!
Loved this sexy, second chance romance!
YAY!! More of Jordan Tuttle!!!
I felt like meeting my high school crush again after many years. I was that giddy and excited to see Jordan and Amanda again!
I can’t even tell you how excited I was to get my hands on this book!! I fell in love with the characters in the Forever Series – no matter how much drama went down. It was a teenage romance so what else did I expect?! Anyway, now they are all grown up and six years had passed!! Wait! What?! Six years?! Oh my… I was a little bit shocked to that news because what the hell happened after the last book ended that so many years had passed?! Well, as it turned out, Amanda broke up with Jordan because their lives just took different paths, what with them being at college and him playing football and being famous. So it’s understandable that it was a tough time for them to adjust to so many changes in their lives and at the same time strengthen their relationship. Theirs obviously didn’t survive, so Amanda made the decision for both of them and broke up with him via text!
I was in love with the story and its characters. And no matter the imperfections, it’s a perfect ending – very cute and fitting for their love story which started in the forever series.
The Story:
They haven’t seen each other for six years, but he’s everywhere. Wherever Amanda goes, there’s Jordan, the one she let go of so long ago. He’s famous and his life is so much different than hers. She has always been just the normal next-door kind of girl. People wouldn’t believe that they had been in love once. But that was their story. Though now it doesn’t seem to be the end of it. Does fate give them a second chance?
Thoughts:
I was very curious as to what happened afterwards. But sadly, except for a few explanations on what went down, there was no deeper insight on how they lived through the break up, how they really handled and felt about it. I would have liked to know why or if he never even tried to contact her after her text.
What bothered me a little bit was that after they reconnected in this book, it felt as if no time at all had passed. Their feelings were as strong as ever and everything happened very quickly in this fast paced story, except for Amanda’s insecurities. I needed some more explanations and more reservation from both sides.
They should have needed to get to know each other again in my opinion because usually people change especially with the famous life Jordan led. How did it not feel like six years but only a couple of weeks or months had passed? I was a little bit bothered by how easy they made it seem to reconnect. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that they reconnected and I was really giddy about them seeing each other again but it just did not feel right the way it happened and I wondered how they even survived the past six years?! How did they not get in touch sooner but wait so long when they were still thinking about each other all the time?!
Amanda acted selfish and was very indecisive in the first half of this book which I really didn’t like. She used the people around her and I was very disappointed how she behaved at times. Especially since she was supposed to be a grown up now and I expected something different to the prior series where her and Jordan’s story originally began. There didn’t seem to be a lot of development in regards to the time between the last book and this one. The characters felt at times as if they were still their teenage selves from the Forever Series which was a bit weird but at the same time had some familiarity.
I absolutely loved the beginning and the ending. There were some ups and downs in the story with Amanda not knowing what she wanted which annoyed me at times. The story moved very fast and wasn’t deeply emotional but was a great story nonetheless. I just wish we got to know more about how they managed their lives with him being away so much with his career and stuff. Some things were only touched briefly but never elaborated or really picked up into the story. Like the paparazzi and famous stuff kind of things. It focused pretty much only on their feelings and reconnection.
You don’t need to have read the Forever Series to enjoy this book, although it’s where Amanda and Jordan’s story really began and it would be a shame to miss it, also because it surely gives a different feel to this book when you know their backgrounds and what they went through to be together. If you want to read it though you should definitely read it before starting this book.
Really enjoyed reading this…good writing…one of those feel good book with very little angst. Just very good.
I absolutely love a “second chance” story that is well written and exciting! Amanda and Jordan fell in love back in seventh grade; she broke up with him because he didn’t have time for her due to football in college; she attends community college, graduates and finds a job; while, Jordan ends up in the NFL as a star quarterback.
Both date others, neither seriously forget their years together or the promise ring of “forever” that lay in a jewelry box of long ago. This story is of six years later when happenstance brings them face to face. The story-line is wonderful; the true feelings are touching; and, I loved the book right up to The End. Thanks for a great read!
I loved this second chance sports romance
Monica Murphy is a new-to-me author, and this book, You Promised Me Forever is exactly why people should be reading their newsletters!!!
I am a sucker for sports romances and second chances, and when this one popped up as freely available, I was onto it quick smart and had it read within no time. I haven’t read any of the earlier books where they’ve featured as younger versions of themselves, but NFL superstar Jordan Tuttle certainly came across as a gorgeous alpha hero who was still sensitive enough to own his past mistakes and admit where his heart lies still; with the one who got away.
I liked Amanda as a character. Who wouldn’t identify with her insecurities about their glaring differences in life styles, social status, hell, even the financial status that made her feel uncomfortable all those years ago? She was real, and even though the story is fictional, I found her reactions to the entire situation be on point. Certainly the chemistry between them hadn’t disappeared, that’s for sure, so there were some pretty hot and sexy scenes!!
What can I say, as a sucker for these oft written tropes, I loved this feel-good story. 4 Stars, absolutely
4 Stars.
Once upon a time they were a couple and thought their future was destined to be together.
The story of their lives has many twists and turns and unresolved issues. Very worthwhile read with a satisfactory outcome.
GREAT READ
Well this was unexpected. I thought Amanda and Jordan had found their happily ever after but alas, growing up and being separated got in the way and Amanda broke up with Jordan. When Jordan does a more personal interview on TV, Amanda gets brave and reaches out via social media. She is shocked when Jordan responds. Is there a chance for these two to find or realize that they never lost the love they had as teenagers? Amanda still carries her insecurities of not being good enough for Jordan and well, Jordan is afraid Amanda is going to crush his heart again. Watching these two reconnect is a wonderful. They have a deep love so I was excited to see them embrace this again and give it another try. Their chemistry is off the charts and well, their bedroom skills have definitely expanded delivering very sexy moments. Truly a wonderful couple that deserves a happily ever after.
Amanda and Jordan were high school sweetheart and they were completely in love. He was the star of football, rich and popular. She came from a family where money was always tight, full of fears and insecurities. In their first year of college, Jordan went to study far away and Mandy stayed in town, going to community college. The distance, the absence of Jordan and her insecurity made Mandy ended the relationship. By text message.
Six years later, she moved in, lives in an apartment that looks more like a shoebox, works at a physical therapist office, her love life is nonexistent, and she never forgot her great love. It’s a little hard to get over your ex when he’s all over the news. Jordan is an extremely famous football player.
In an interview for a TV show, Jordan reveals that he had a girl that got away, his great love, someone who occupies his thoughts daily. Mandy is watching, decides to get in touch with him through a social network, and thus, after separated years they meet again.
The two still love each other, but Jordan has a lot of heartbreak for Mandy to have abandoned him, after all she had sworn they would be forever. Mandy is still insecure, and if a teenage Jordan already attracts looks, now a full grown man and famous, the attention is multiplied. The same problems of the past still exist, it is up to the two to assess whether this relationship is worth saving.
This is a second chance for these two, who clearly love each other and should never have separated. Mandy was the weakest part of the narrative, the character is completely insecure, almost childish, and the motives that made her end the relationship in the past, though acceptable, do not match the size of their love.
Jordan has achieved fame in his professional life, but his personal life is virtually nonexistent. Mandy clearly occupies all the space of his heart, and no woman can make him forget her. Although hurt and very heartbroken, he approaches her, resumes the friendship and is willing to try again. I think Mandy’s supposed to chase Jordan this time. She broke up with him, broke his heart, got in touch with him some time later, and when they get closer, she gets fussy, Jordan takes the decisive step and assumes he wants her back. She should beg forgiveness and beg for another chance, not him.
The book balances romance, broken hearts, second chances and the idea of a love for a lifetime. Clichés are present, but because it is a novel, it is almost mandatory. A book to read on a rainy afternoon and delight in a beautiful love story.
4,5 stars
When I started this book I didn’t know that there was already a YA book (Friends series) out about this couple. I didn’t read that series so it was my first encounter with Amanda Winter and Jordan Tuttle. For reading this book, it didn’t matter that I haven’t read the ‘Friend’ series but for myself, personally, I would have like to know before starting this book. Because then maybe I would have read that series first. But like I said you don’t have to read that series to read this book. The story is told from both POV’s, something that I liked very much in this story.
I was really looking forward to reading this book because it contains two things that I love to read at the moment football and second chance romance. And I’m very happy that I decided to read this book! I really felt for Jordan and Amanda, both were very wonderful characters, but they were young when they fell in love and life can something be very overwhelming and confusing.
Amanda is more shy and insecure but she has a big heart and she’s a loyal friend. Jordan is confident and charming. One thing that I really appreciated about Jordan was that he was honest. Amanda may have been the one to break things off between them in the past but he could commit (to himself at least) that he was at fault too. I loved the pace of the story, how they restarted their relationship and the fact that we got an epilogue. Although I felt that the end was a little rushed. I would have liked more of an explanation how they solved or worked on the reason why they broke up in the first place. Because that reason was still there! Jordan said so many times in the story. I missed that a bit in the end.
‘You promised me forever’ is an easy and sweet read and I loved it.
The first part was soooo good. I feel in love with the couple. The plot, even though is not the most original, was very well developed. I enjoyed seeing the main couple together, but in some cases, I wanted more of them. I mean, all that was necessary was a good talk to solve their misunderstandings.
It was a good book. I enjoyed it.
I loved Tuttle & Amanda’s story from Monica’s “Friends” series and enjoyed seeing their second chance romance play out in this book!
They were the perfect couple, and they have the perfect relationship, until Amanda gave up on their relationship. Years later Jordan is one of the hottest quarterback in NFL, he’s rich, famous and have women at his beck and call. It was a TV special that had her curious and had her DM’ing him over IG. What she didn’t expect is for him to reply and remember her. Soon, he’d invited her back to them game, and back into his life. Will they take risk and have their relationship work out this time? Or will they repeat the same mistake again?
What I love? I love second chance romance! The fact that they easily pick up their relationship from where it is. They have an undeniable connection ever since, and it didn’t diminish. Love the fact that Jordan will do anything to have her back, he woos her endlessly.
BUT. There’s that one powerful word. I hated that Amanda was insecure, and the fact that she points Jordan to her new friends or colleague and says that she’d gone out with him. It was like hearing someone says that “See that famous person? Yeah, I’ve been with him.” But I guess insecurities are just normal, partly is was Justin’s fault he didn’t reassure enough, and gave up as well.
NEVERTHELESS. I enjoyed seeing them getting back together, and Amanda finally getting over her insecurities. It’s a fast, easy-on-the heart, fun, and sexy read.
So y’all know that Second Chance Romance is my jam, add in Sports Romance and I’m in heaven. That being said, while enjoyed You Promised Me Forever, I think I would’ve enjoyed it more had I known that it was the continuation of a relationship established in a previous series (Friends) – then I would’ve read it first and been more familiar with Tuttle and Amanda and the scope and breadth of their relationship. This was also a case where I had lopsided feelings towards the characters (I liked him WAY more than I liked her) and perhaps that would’ve leveled out had I known their history and full story. I do plan on going back and reading the Friends series because I truly did enjoy the author’s story telling and writing style. Maybe then I’ll revisit this book with fresh eyes. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
When I read that Amanda and Tuttle broke up, I was heartbroken. Completely gutted. These two were perfect for each other and I really thought that they would still be together but that wasn’t the case. I was angry at Amanda for breaking Tuttle’s heart but I was more disappointed in Tuttle for not fighting harder for her. Amanda’s insecurities I can understand because it’s Tuttle: handsome, rich, charismatic and he’s away and not taking any time out for her so I get it but for him to just let her go without a fight was mind boggling. I was crushed but when they reconnected, it was a thing of beauty. I loved how they fell in love with each other again. Maybe they did need time apart to go and see what was important, I just wished they didn’t have to go through it.
Monica Murphy has severely spoiled us with You Promised Me Forever, book one in the new Forever Yours series. Jordan Tuttle is back in all his glory and more perfect than before, as impossible as that sounds. I highly advise starting the previous Friends series first to get all the history of Jordan and Amanda as to fully understand these two and how everything came to be.
Who says social media is just to post silly things or read fake news? One message from Amanda Winters is all it takes to bring Jordan back into the picture six years after ending their relationship when he was in college and she was still at home. Insecurities and self doubt hit real strong, causing Amanda to make a heartbreaking decision that stayed with her ever since. Now adults and leading two very different lives, the high school lovebirds are back for either a second chance on something real or closure for good on a very historic past.
I love that this story was honest and straight to the point, no matter how brutal it had to be. Jordan and Amanda have gone through so much together with not only each other but on their own as well. Past and present collide big time creating one raw but passionate storyline. I also love how in between all the angst is some fun, flirtatious moments that had me smiling big time. I’m very curious to see where Monica Murphy goes with this series and whatever comes next I will be more than happy to read.
JORDAN TUTTLE.
Let me repeat that: JORDAN TUTTLE.
Have you missed Tuttle since we last saw him in Forever? Monica Murphy is here with a cure. Even better, she has aged Jordan, making him 25 so that you feel less pervy as you swoon over him.
Monica Murphy establishes the conflict between Jordan and Amanda straight away: she broke up with him six years ago, but neither has forgotten about the other. At all.
So they’re apart and we need them together, and the way Monica Murphy does that is perfection. They want to protect themselves from what tore them apart, yet they have missed each other. Can they forgive and, perhaps more importantly, forget?
Since Jordan and Amanda are in their twenties, this book is more of a New Adult than a Young Adult. So you know what that means, right? SEXY TIMES. Oh, Tuttle. As much as I have loved to #CuddleWithTuttle, the 25-year-old you is fan-freaking-tastic.
The ending is perfection, by the way. But it doe nothing to help minimize my Jordan Tuttle obsession.
Which, I suppose, is a good thing.
A second chance romance with an NFL football player? My type of book! Jason Tuttle is the starting quarterback in the San Francisco team, enjoying his third season. Amanda is a hard-working assistant physical therapist. They were childhood friends, then high school sweethearts. They were dating during their senior year and part of Jason’s first year in University, on a football scholarship. He was so busy with his new life that he ignored Amanda, until she dumped him via text.
Amanda used to have many insecurities as a teenager. Even while Jason reassured her that he wanted only her and professed his love, she always felt inferior, like she didn’t deserve such a hot and popular guy as Jason. When Jason was in University and he cancelled so many dates, wouldn’t answer the phone, and generally ignored her, her insecurities flared up high and she dumped him.
Six years later, she has to live, watching him in TV ads, gossip magazines, game commentaries, etc. She wavers between feeling like she did what was necessary or if it was the dumbest decision she ever took. Until one day in a TV interview he affirms he thinks about the girl who got away every single day.
She contacts him through social media and they connect again, but they still have many obstacles. Even though Amanda is now a professional, has matured some and conquered her insecurities (mostly), she still feels not enough. Jason is afraid of being dumped again, so he proceeds cautiously. The differences in their world, in their finances, and his team’s hectic schedule stand in the way of their reunion.
I liked the book, but was sometimes tired of Amanda’s self-doubts. The book had a very narrow focus, only addressing their second chance reunion, and I felt that it lacked the richness of stories when the characters’ world, family and friends are included in the plot.
