From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes a heartbreakingly beautiful standalone story about letting love in.
I’m losing myself trying to save everyone else…
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life–love is a luxury I can’t afford.
It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks … until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart.
When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.
In a single moment, everything I’ve worked for is jeopardized. My integrity, my career, and even my relationship with Westin.
He loved me once, I just hope he can love me always …

“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
You Loved Me Once by Corinne Michaels left me breathless and speechless. Reading this book I felt as if I was watching a beautiful and emotional movie, so clearly, vivid and real. I laughed and cried. Yes, I cried three times. I did not know what to expect, but the author managed to captivate me with her deliberately written story, wonderful heroes, and heartbreaking moments. Interesting plot, complex heroes, and moving moments.
I had to take a step back and think about myself and my actions because You Loved Me Once made me hurt and feel so deep. I experienced Westin and Serenity’s story and I love how much they taught me. They broke my heart and put it back together.

This book will literally take your breath away! Another great read from Corinne….another great swoony hero in Westin Grant. Dr Serenity Adams is struggling and you will feel that struggle right along with her. The bigger story of her research, family, loss, and enduring love is so great! This story is raw and filled with so much emotion…you will cry, but oh the pain is so good! I adored Westin and his enduring and patient love for Serenity…Corinne again drags your heart out this one. his story is clever, witty, heartwarming, devastating…oh my, it is so much! Devoured this book in just one day…and do the narration if you can! Julia’s sweet voice adds a new layer to this already wonderful read! Definitely one of Corinne’s best and a must read for 2021!
My heart wasn’t prepared for this story. Just beautiful and shows all the brilliance that involves romance novels. I couldn’t get enough and there’s an instant connection to the characters and the story only intensifies with each new chapter.
I could not wait to get my hands on this book. Let me tell you it was everything I hoped for and more. You Loved Me Once had all the feels with lots of angst. This was a page turner that kept me way past my bed time.
This was an emotional read full of heart break. Serenity is a doctor and is passionate about her work. After losing her mom to cancer she has been on a mission to help women fight cancer. She is starting her clinical trail and will have lots of decisions to make.
Westin is a doctor and is perfect for Serenity. She is set on never falling in love. Westin has his work cut out for him to break down her walls. He is sweet and companionate, everything you could want. I loved Westin and was pulling for him and Serenity.
I loved this book so much! You Loved Me Once is a must read.
Once again, Corinne Michaels has gifted us with another emotional and angsty story and I am here for all of it! I loved Serenity’s character, she’s working towards a huge goal in her professional life after suffering a loss in her personal life and she wants to make sure other women will have a chance to beat cancer. Her strides in her professional life, and the setbacks in her personal life mean that Serenity’s got plenty of walls of walls up to keep her heart protected. Lucky for her (and we readers), the guy Ren’s been seeing casually is up for the task of showing her what she’s missing out on by keeping herself reserved and closed off, and Westin is absolutely FANTASTIC! Despite the romance not being the main focal point of the story, seeing how much Westin genuinely cares for Ren was great, and seeing the growth and changes she goes through was amazing.
This book was absolutely stunning!!! Absolutely amazing!!! Corinne Michaels wrote a story that will sit with me forever. The emotion and feeling in this story is so real and raw, I could feel every bit of it as if it were me in the book!! I loved every single word!!!!
You Loved Me Once is everything I have come to expect from a Corinne Michaels book. It is full of angst and a heart melting love story. Thank enjoy that the characters are older characters and have some life experience before finding their HEA, but with all life, there comes baggage. Serenity’s baggage was almost more than she and Wes could deal with, but I love seeing LOVE win.
I really struggled with this book in the beginning. I am so glad I stuck it out, but I was feeling anxious and stressed for a while. I kept screaming at Serenity to get it together, open her eyes, and figure out what she needed. I wanted to smack her ex in his stupid face while at the same time praying that Ren would make the right choice before it was too late. She is a strong, independent, capable oncologist who can perform miracles but she is also so broken. Dr. Westin is so very patient while hoping she can see finally allow herself to be loved. This is a story of finding yourself and realizing how much difference love can make in your life.
Phew what an emotional rollercoaster. I’m not an angsty romance reader normally, so my poor heart doesn’t take well to grappling heart breaks and love being torn apart. Serenity Adams has had a ton of heart break in her young lifetime but has pushed through to become a notable doctor in her field. As life would have it, her past comes crashing down on her when she least expects it, leaving her to face complicated emotions in the present mixed with unresolved emotions of the past.
Corinne’s writing is top notch and always guides me through the angsty bits that I wouldn’t normally survive. Her writing of complicated and layered characters is fantastic! Combined with writing a story that ebbs and flows through finding and losing a love that was once so defining, Serenity culminates these losses into her present decisions that we may not all agree with. But reading this story and finding a beautiful ending that makes my heart so happy was absolutely worth the angst and emotional ride Corinne takes us on. A little bit of a departures from the previous books I’ve read from Corinne, I loved it just as much!!

You Loved Me Once is a different type of story from the amazing Corinne Michaels. There will be people that do not enjoy this journey that Serenity takes. She is a gynecological oncologist known in ger hospital as a stone-cold no-nonsense physician, but as we journey with her, we find that past traumas drive her. As Serenity starts groundbreaking trial research, she is confronted by her past and forces her to make decisions about her current love life. This journey had me in my feelings from start to finish and was the emotional cleansing that I did not know I needed.

An undecisive emotional rollercoaster!
To love someone and have to hold back because they are holding back emotionally is extremely hard. This is Westin with Serenity. He’s pushing forward towards more. Westin is a doctor in the same hospital as Serenity. To love deeply and break up will ruin a person if you let it; This is Serenity with Bryce. She was just starting to get emotionally healed to have Bryce come into her life again through Bryce’s wife. Serenity is a gynecologist oncologist. To have loved someone and broken up and it almost destroyed you, and then someone picked up the pieces. This is Bryce with Allison. He’s married to her and loves her. There was never closure between Bryce and Allison. This is not exactly a triangle romance. I must say that it’s a brilliant written one. Realization on Serenity’s love for Westin comes slowly after her dad and her best friend give her some well informed knowledge. All kinds of emotions are involved, deceit to a point, and owning up to your mistakes. Corinne you’ve done it again! This is a different storyline which is refreshing. Certain parts just broke my heart. I’ll be looking forward to your next book, for sure.
When the woman you are is confronted by the girl you were – what do you decide? You Loved Me Once is the perfect title for this awesome book by Corinne Michaels. In some ways I think Serenity had to reminder herself of her love for herself and that she deserved to be loved and cared for by others, including Westin. If you are a fan of Ms. Michaels’ work like I am this book will NOT disappoint. I loved not only her story of the main characters but also the support characters. I hope there is a book coming soon with Serenity’s brother.
You Loved Me Once caught me so off guard. I knew that being a Corinne Michaels book, I would love it. She has never written anything I didn’t love. But I underestimated how much this book would effect me emotionally. I was a bawling mess. Even now, days after I’ve finished the book, my heart is still aching thinking about Serenity.
First let me say, I have found my new book boyfriend in Westin. He is just so incredible. His heart is pure and giving. I immediately fell in love with him. There was something about him, he was so patient with Serenity and her feelings.
My heart broke for Serenity. She’s so determined to give her patients the best care they can receive. Her compassion for her patients is truly beautiful, but Serenity is so broken already when we meet her. Once she suffers a heartbreaking loss, she makes a choice that will completely change her.
Corinne Michales wrote an absolutely beautiful book that will make you feel so much. You Loved Me Once is definitely a six star book!
Corinne Michaels once again takes on a journey thru love and loss and makes you fell things that you sometimes forget. Knowing that someone you love has fought this battle personally gives credence to the hard research that has to be done in order to get the knowledge and emotions that go along with cancer and the doctors who care about them.
I applaud you in so many ways, but this this was wrenching and yet driven in such a way that it speaks volumes.
Ren is as dedicated to her ethics, but emotion and closed doors team up to give this character so much growth that her reactions are heartaches of their own. Westin has watched her and cared for her and yet he is the anchor that she needs to come to grips with.
I love the POV that Corinne uses this time and I’m convinced that this book will be one of her greats.
How can it be possible for an author to get better and better like fine wine?!
Corinne Michaels did just that. Blew me right out of the water with this masterpiece. I love how complex the storyline was and how Serenity grew as a character throughout the story to evolve into someone you wanted to make it thru and get it all. When you are rooting for the impossible to turn out you know you have won the reading jackpot. I still have warm fuzzies when thinking of Serenity and Westin. Thank you Corinne for nailing this book. It’s absolute must read.
This woman can really write a book!! This book was so beautifully written and everything about it made me fall hard and fast. It’s emotional and heartbreaking but heartwarming and grabs at your heart and soul. I don’t think I can come up with the correct words to do this story justice. Powerful, soulful and heart wrenching are just a few that come to mind. I was so excited to read this book and Corrine Michaels did not disappoint. Every word you read is just so unforgettable when you’re done you immediately want to start the story from the beginning again. This was just amazing through and through and I can’t wait to read what’s next!
I fell in love with Serenity on page one. Her story will not leave me, ever. Honestly I’m a huge fan of Corinne Michaels writing style, but I wasn’t ready for Serenity’s story. I felt everything, it left me speechless, stole my breath, and I felt it all!
Such an amazing book! Enjoy it all!
I’m not really sure how to review this one, because, while Corrine Michaels’ writing and telling of the story is beautiful, and I absolutely enjoyed the premise of the story and loved that it dealt with such an emotional topic, I had a huge problem trying to connect with the heroine, Dr. Serenity Adams, in this one. I honestly wanted to shake her and tell her to snap out of it…Perfection is right there in your face and his name is Dr. Westin Grant, but yet, you continue to pass him over and focus on what was. Honestly, the underlying story of You Loved Me Once about a doctor trying to save her patients and find a cure for a disease that plagues women was absolutely beautiful, heartfelt and extremely moving, and I even understood why she did what she did that could have cost her everything. I also empathized with her about the pain that she, herself, was fighting through without even realizing that she was stuck in such a state, and that is why the story itself gets a 5 star rating from me; but Dr. Adams’ behavior and thought processing really wore on me, and I am sorry to say, but it took away from the story for me.
You Loved Me Once
Corinne usually leaves me speechless after I finish her books. This story was no different however I felt this story deep in my soul due to my own personal history.
Dr. Serenity Adams- a Gynecologist Oncologist no longer does relationships and hasn’t since her college days.. with her heart ties to her past love she chooses to keep things simple with the sexy Dr. Westin Grant and not put a label on things.
Both busy with their chosen specialty- it works for her.. however Westin seems to want more. Serenity’s focus is on her new clinical trial. She cares about this clinical trial more than anything and is challenged in a way she never expected, putting not only her career on the line and damaging her relationship with Westin..
This story was so powerful.. emotional and really hit my soul.. My heart hurt for Serenity.. I absolutely loved this story.. it’s one of those stories that will stay with you.. Unforgettable and perfect.
