“When I get old, I hope to have friends as awesome as these. This is an absolutely feel good novel. Naturally, our intrepid characters, wattles and all, undergo all sorts of trials, but it’s the compassion and generosity they exhibit that endears the reader.” — Sam Sanders, via NetGalleyZany families, eccentric friends, and ne-er-do-well neighbors inhabit the labyrinthine lives of three women … labyrinthine lives of three women friends as they grapple with real world events in one “Golden Year.”
An unwelcome visit from local law enforcement, a younger friend’s romantic chaos, and the death of a parent combine with daily mundanities—laundry, scones, and senior sex—to create a walloping, raucous read.
Opinionated pets—critics and alter egos—offer a rich counterpoint to the human dramas affecting their lives.
Unfiltered and compelling, this entertaining sago provides readers of all ages with a new and positive view of growing older.

soooo good
The story line seemed disconnected. The part I enjoyed was the Corgi named Butterbean….mostly because I miss my Corgi so much, and the author was spot on with some of the quirks of this breed. It’s probably the only reason I finished the book.
the author is aware of dog behavior, not so much adult women
actually I never finished the book. Th longer I read th less I enjoyed th story.
The concept of the dogs having dialogue while their “people’s” story u folded was unique in my experience. Very entertaining read.
I loved the title…the book not so much.
There were too many plot turns in this book. The writing was good. The author tried to put the plots for several books into one and it really didn’t work.
Fun account of life after retirement for a group of friends.
lost interest before finishing
Sort of silly.
Hope there are other books with these characters!
I was disappointed in this book. Too many names to keep straight. The ending just sort of fizzled out and I really didn’t care for the animals talking. I don’t recommend it.
There are parts of this book that are laugh out loud funny and some that are quite poignant. Loved it.
Somewhat humorous, but also a little too predictable — doesn’t really surprise with any new ideas.
I really enjoyed reading this book the characters kept you entertained and interested in what happen to them.
I thought it was very dull reading ! ! !
Very entertaining! Love these characters.
The story was stupid. Old women don’t climb to the top of warehouses.
i was disappointed in the content. The first chapter was hilarious! I had problems reading I was laughing so much. However, just disappointed in the rest of the book.
Didn’t hold my interest. First part Good then petered out.
