“When I get old, I hope to have friends as awesome as these. This is an absolutely feel good novel. Naturally, our intrepid characters, wattles and all, undergo all sorts of trials, but it’s the compassion and generosity they exhibit that endears the reader.” — Sam Sanders, via NetGalleyZany families, eccentric friends, and ne-er-do-well neighbors inhabit the labyrinthine lives of three women … labyrinthine lives of three women friends as they grapple with real world events in one “Golden Year.”
An unwelcome visit from local law enforcement, a younger friend’s romantic chaos, and the death of a parent combine with daily mundanities—laundry, scones, and senior sex—to create a walloping, raucous read.
Opinionated pets—critics and alter egos—offer a rich counterpoint to the human dramas affecting their lives.
Unfiltered and compelling, this entertaining sago provides readers of all ages with a new and positive view of growing older.

Meh
More truth than fiction in a funny senior setting.
So true. Love it
So funny from the start!
I was put off by the cover art. My 70-year-old friends and I don’t look like that. I love dogs, but when the dogs started talking, I “closed” the book – a VERY RARE ACTION for me. Sorry.
I could have done without the chapters with the dog dialogues. In fact, I had to skip those.
Silly. Not my genra
Loved it!
Didn’t like characters and didn’t finish book.
dragged on.
As a person of the same age group, I could identify with the characters, but it was almost as if the author didn’t have any idea how to wrap story line.
Very disappointing!!! The story doesn’t live up to its great title! Slow, many characters and the dogs talk ridiculously.
At 76, reading a book that had characters older than 30 was refreshing. Reminiscent of Fannie Flagg,in some ways, this book is fascinating, while being full of homey simple occurrences like friends meeting and problem-solving together, still some of the situations are unexpected. Fun read.
Didn’t like the ending — issue unresolved.
Cute read.
Just couldn’t get into it. Finally gave up after 4 chapters
Did not like this story or writing style. Characters were confusing and not entertaining. This novel missed the mark on all aspects! Would no recommend.
I thought this book would be entertaining as I am in the same age group as these ladies. I made it about one-fourth of the way through but it was so bad, I couldn’t finish it.
Just plain silly
Parts of this book are mildly entertaining but I got bored and didn’t finish it, which is very rare for me.
