“When I get old, I hope to have friends as awesome as these. This is an absolutely feel good novel. Naturally, our intrepid characters, wattles and all, undergo all sorts of trials, but it’s the compassion and generosity they exhibit that endears the reader.” — Sam Sanders, via NetGalleyZany families, eccentric friends, and ne-er-do-well neighbors inhabit the labyrinthine lives of three women … labyrinthine lives of three women friends as they grapple with real world events in one “Golden Year.”

Failed to find humor in the story style.
The title was intriguing…the book was not!
Could not finish this…just because a person is old does not mean everything they do is comical or interesting.
I loved this book, the characters were well developed and the story line was funny and suspenseful at the same time. Also the characters were across a broad range of ages (40-70) that isn’t usually written about.
I thought that it was too silly and contrived.
It was a little strange starting, but, once I got into the book I loved the characters. Dealing with aged parents, aches and pains and a scandal. Don’t want to give a lot away, but it’s worth reading just for the sexual escapade between two seniors, I laughed until tears flowed…too funny.
I enjoyed the book very much.
This is a fun book to read as a one who has a boat load of hard to iron wrinkles so I can laugh and understand that you can still function fully with wrinkles and good furry friends that love your wrinkles and all. Loved how the author wove these animal stories into telling parts of the story. It also tells the importance of friendships and …
It was just a crazy funny book
Somewhat hard to follow. 50 something’s were treated like seniors so I didn’t find it too realistic very odd ideas.
I liked that the characters were older and not the usual young and sex starved. The plot seemed contrived at times and was unhappily resolved. The antics of the characters was unrealistic.
This book has characters that enjoy life but have troubles just like the rest of the world but show that friendship can help you get through those troubles.
I enjoyed the conversations that occurred amongst the pets.
I was caught by the title, being in that age bracket. I enjoyed reading the antics and adventures of these women because they reminded me a lot of my crazy, but entertaining and dear friends.
I love to read books about my generation. Could not get far in this one at all. Did not like the foul language.
Not a bad read, but a disjointed jumble in places. I could have done without the dogs’ point of views! I had high Hope’s for the premise but was really left kind of sagging. 0
Too much jibber-jabber
Interesting plot – funny characters including the dogs and their perspective
Ok read didn’t like so.much the dog…story line.
There are good parts, but they are few and far between. Just starts getting better, then next paragraph the dogs are talking. Kind of wierd
I loved this book! It was funny and entertaining and i could not put it down.
