“When I get old, I hope to have friends as awesome as these. This is an absolutely feel good novel. Naturally, our intrepid characters, wattles and all, undergo all sorts of trials, but it’s the compassion and generosity they exhibit that endears the reader.” — Sam Sanders, via NetGalleyZany families, eccentric friends, and ne-er-do-well neighbors inhabit the labyrinthine lives of three women … labyrinthine lives of three women friends as they grapple with real world events in one “Golden Year.”
An unwelcome visit from local law enforcement, a younger friend’s romantic chaos, and the death of a parent combine with daily mundanities—laundry, scones, and senior sex—to create a walloping, raucous read.
Opinionated pets—critics and alter egos—offer a rich counterpoint to the human dramas affecting their lives.
Unfiltered and compelling, this entertaining sago provides readers of all ages with a new and positive view of growing older.

This book was a fun, quick, easy read. Nothing deep.
Ok.
Wanted to really like this book, the characters were great, just couldn’t quite get into the switching between the dog’s stories and their people.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Loved the characters with their camaraderie and outlook on life in their “golden years” not spent in the rocking chair knitting.
Very good book. Thought provoking on several issues to do with aging, in an entertaining way.
Keeps you chuckling each page!
GOOD READ FOR WOMAN, FUN AND ENTERTAINING.
A good read
This style of writing is not my favorite. Short jerky sentence structure with series of sentences beginning with the same word.
Thought it would be delightful but wasn’t, Got heavy and difficult very quickly. Put it down and went on to another book, something I rarely do.
This was an entertaining read.
This book is helpful when you know someone transitioning to senior care! You’ll need a sense of humor!
Friendship! Easy read about supportive long-time friends who are now Seniors. Not a page-turner but definitely worth the time.
Could not get into it and did not finish.
Hillarious!
Take some 50-something adventurous ladies who decide to make a stand in order to save a building from demolition …. And then we also have their canines’ viewpoints and dialogues telling us what actually happened and you have a story which is worth a million bucks! It is so funny!
And this is just how the story begins…
Sharon …
Lost interest.
Was disappointed. The first couple of chapters were promising, then it was hard to follow as to who was narrating the people or the dogs. Don’t waste your time.
The profile offers much more than the book provides. Disappointing!
did not hold y interest
Did not like the dog characters. They were somewhat funny but quickly became tooo much!
