“When I get old, I hope to have friends as awesome as these. This is an absolutely feel good novel. Naturally, our intrepid characters, wattles and all, undergo all sorts of trials, but it’s the compassion and generosity they exhibit that endears the reader.” — Sam Sanders, via NetGalleyZany families, eccentric friends, and ne-er-do-well neighbors inhabit the labyrinthine lives of three women … labyrinthine lives of three women friends as they grapple with real world events in one “Golden Year.”
An unwelcome visit from local law enforcement, a younger friend’s romantic chaos, and the death of a parent combine with daily mundanities—laundry, scones, and senior sex—to create a walloping, raucous read.
Opinionated pets—critics and alter egos—offer a rich counterpoint to the human dramas affecting their lives.
Unfiltered and compelling, this entertaining sago provides readers of all ages with a new and positive view of growing older.

Loved this book!
Cute
Not worth my time.
It took me a few chapters to get into this one. I would read a little, lose interest, begin again……..I finally finished but wouldn’t recommend.
Funny start — weak ending.
Ridiculous with essentially no plot. The title caught my attention but I was so bored, I couldn’t finish it.
Thought provoking.
Very different than most books I read but it was a nice diversion with a group of funny, loving lady friends who care about their close group of friends and their furry pets. A fun, relaxing read.
This book was a Birthday Gift to myself.
Not what I expected. Hard to follow as they kept bouncing back and forth between the human characters point of view and that of their pets.
I was moderately happy with this one. The dogs conversations were more than I bargained for, and the humor was not as much as I would have liked. Not a terrible book, I did finish it.
Lovely book about women and how we can support each other.
I just could not get into the book. Very slow and not entertaining.
This book started out slow for me. I had a little trouble keeping characters straight. It was unusual in that the animals shared their insights on their human companions. It definitely picked up towards the end and held my attention better.
Poor character development— hard to keep them straight. Also, a couple of them weren’t really that “old”— 40 and 50?
Neither of the two plots was really resolved— the sit-in at the semi-historic building or the child molestation charge.
I was expecting a laugh a minute but sadly this book did not deliver.
Didn’t hold my interest
As much as I like to finish a book once I’ve started it, I gave up on this book. The first chapter or two were interesting, but after that, I just didn’t care about the characters, it felt really disjointed. One chapter didn’t flow into the next. Would not recommend.
WORTH A READ. YOU WILL IN LOVE WITH THE CHARACTERS
Good solid stoty. Good writing.
Pets talking. Dragged. Not worth the time
