You are cordially invited to the worst wedding of the century.Sydney Evans is no stranger to hard work. It’s the one constant in her life. And with no family or friends to speak of it’s been easy to pour everything she has into her career as general counsel for Blackstone Holdings. She wants for nothing. Until her boss offers her a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. All she has to do in return is … do in return is marry his good-for-nothing son.
Scott Blackstone used be a party whore. Pardon, party animal. He hasn’t been that guy in a long time though. Not since he moved to Wyoming, bought a failing cattle ranch, and turned it into a profitable business.
All is good. Until a phone call from his father threatens the quiet, simple life he’s built. Marry or lose everything. And to a woman who can’t stand him, no less. Well, Scott is not going down without a fight. He’s never going back to Manhattan. Not if he can help it.

You Can Have Manhattan was just what I needed. Marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers executed to perfection. On top of that delicious and fabulous slow burn filled with funny and sexy moments from both Sydney and Scott that just made me smile and heart sing.
Scott doesn’t want to be married to Sydney and does everything in his power to scare her off but Sydney is one tough and resilient woman. Sydney and her clowns and Scott turning off the furnace just to name a few things they both do to one another. They butt heads constantly but the tension is filled with an underlying sizzling heat just waiting to explode. It’s flawlessly written and not only is Sydney and Scott two compelling characters so are the secondary ones too. Sydney’s assistant Miller and Scott’s friends and colleagues Laurel, Ryan and Drake are simply terrific. Two cute dogs Romeo and Juliet have captured my heart too.
You Can Have Manhattan is why marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers are among my favorite tropes. This story captures it all. Strong and flawed characters, sexual tension and chemistry that jumps off the pages, sweet, sad and funny scenes that crawled under my skin and into my heart.
I know this is a standalone but I don’t want to leave Jackson Hole.
5 Sunshine and Vanilla Stars
Sometimes, you start a story thinking that you know how it will go, but then the story takes you on a different journey, taking a route that you didn’t expect. That was the case here with this enemy-to-lovers story ‘You can have Manhattan’.
In this story we got both POV’s. Both main character were very interesting and not what I expected. The first time I met them I thought that I already had them all figured out but there were more layers to them then I knew, a mistake that both characters also made about each other. During the story I got to know them better. Scott and Sydney had good hearts but they weren’t perfect. They made mistakes along the way, especially Scott made some huge ones. But one thing that I appreciated about him is that he never stopped trying to be a better person afterwards. Sometimes it took him some time but he always tried to correct this mistakes. Sydney looked and acted first very cool but deep down she was very sensitive and loyal. The more I got to know her to more I loved her. The world can be a hard and lonely place and you can lose yourself in different ways, I think that this story showed that perfectly. But no matter what, you can always choose to do better, to choose a different and happier path to walk on.
The story had some emotional scenes but they never became too emotional. It had the perfect balance between light and emotional. The secondary characters were great, they brought fun and friendship into the story. And I adored the epilogue in the end.
‘You can have Manhattan’ is an entertaining story.
I thought this would be a light and fluffy; fake marriage, hate-to-lovers, opposites attract. But You Can Have Manhattan was surprisingly deep.
Sydney is a lawyer in NYC and is offered the chance to be CEO of this massive company. All she has to do is marry the owner’s son, Scott. The last time she interacted with Scott, he was a philandering manwhore partying through his father’s money, so Sydney’s opinion of him isn’t high
Scott, on the other hand, is feeling cornered and forced into this marriage so he fights back, of sorts. But Sydney is made of fucking steel (seriously, I love this woman) and doesn’t back down. The interaction between the two is what makes this story. You see both lower their guards and surprise themselves by falling in love with their fake spouses.
You Can Have Manhattan is a great slow burn with in depth character development. Side characters were worthwhile and added to the story. Overall, very emotional and well written.
5 Stars!
Sydney Evans is a woman living in New York who has no family or friends to speak of. Her career was her life, and she excelled as a woman in a male dominated business. She’d been the general counsel for Blackstone Holdings since she graduated law school, and adored her boss. He was her mentor, and she would do just about anything for him. She soon finds out that includes marrying his spoiled, rich, self absorbed, playboy son. In exchange, she is offered too good of an opportunity to turn down that could be life changing for her. Could she marry a man she barely knew, and didn’t even like? Last time she saw Scott Blackstone he was a partying loser, but maybe she could give it a chance for a while as his fake bride. She just had to look at it as a business arrangement, and nothing more.
Scott Blackstone is a gorgeous bachelor living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he owns and runs a successful cattle ranch. He loves his peaceful life and has invested everything into the Lazy S Ranch. His quiet, simple life is threatened when his father rocks his world with one phone call giving him an ultimatum. Marry or lose everything he holds dear. He left Manhattan years ago trying to escape a past he’d rather forget, and now he would have to pretend in public to like this pretty but uptight woman. She was a distraction he didn’t need, and he didn’t know how he was going to live with this surprising attraction between them. They had crazy unexpected chemistry, and his body responded to her whether he liked it or not. The unwelcome sexual tension sizzled whenever they were close, and what was to be fake was suddenly feeling too real. Things get complicated when he realizes he just might be falling for his wife.
You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico is a sexy, emotional arranged marriage/ enemies to lovers romance that is hilarious, and extremely entertaining. I really loved this story, and this author has quickly become one of my absolute favorites!
Have you ever read a beautifully executed book that genuinely made your heart so happy and put a huge smile on your face?! That’s how I feel about You Can Have Manhattan. I’m on such a huge delightful high after finishing this book and it’s definitely one of my top favorite books of 2019. Ms. Dangelico has an articulate gift for writing romantic comedies and this book is nothing short of amazing.
Scott Blackstone and Sydney Evans were literally a match made in hell. They couldn’t have been been more opposite and the fact that they were being forced into a fake marriage made it even worse. Scott and Sydney had a brief encounter years ago at his sister’s wedding and let’s just say it wasn’t a good one, at least for Sydney. Scott left a sour taste in her mouth (no pun intended) and a terrible impression. When Scott and Sydney reunited years later, their chemistry was palpable, I rooted for them immediately and these two did not disappoint me in the least. I was in awe of Sydney, a successful attorney for Blackstone Holdings (Scott’s dad’s Company) in New York and her particular brand of sass, strength and accomplishments. Scott was the unexpected hero and former jet setter/partier/playboy turned cowboy who owned a thriving ranch in Wyoming and completely won me over. I mean he certainly had his jerk moments but his tender side made me fall head over heels for him. They were a lovable, entertaining couple who had me highly anticipating what was going to happen next and their chemistry was beyond explosive and undeniable.
You Can Have Manhattan is a delicious slow burn romance built with precision. The desire and the promise of sex was intense and trust me, it was fantastic and definitely well worth the wait. The storyline is all consuming, unique, filled with depth and I can honestly say this book was amazing from beginning to end with touching moments that tugged at my heart strings. It’s without a doubt, a definite MUST read!!
Sydney Evans life revolves around her career, with little else in her life to focus on work always manages to steal her full attention. Not to mention she is good at what she does, and has worked really hard to get where she is, and it is about to pay off big time!
When her boss calls her into his office he dangles the opportunity of a lifetime in front of her… but it comes with a very unexpected catch. In order to get her hands on her big dream, and make it come true, she must agree to marry his very difficult, but very handsome son Scott. Which leaves her contemplating just how much she wants that dream… is it worth the headache that a marriage to Scott is sure to bring?
Nothing says entertaining like a marriage of convenience between sworn enemies… these two brought drama, heat, angst, and humor to the pages with their little union. Sydney was a career driven woman who didn’t have the time or the patience for love, or the nonsense her new hubby- to-be was known for… but little by little he found a way to sneak past all her defenses and into her heart. Not without a few battles though, these two were fighting more than just sparks at every turn, the push and pull between them was unreal! Scott had no interest in returning to the city and family business he despised, but with his father’s ultimatum it left him no choice. If he wanted to keep his dream afloat he needed to get down on bended knee, and ask his nemesis to be his wife. I loved this newest offering from Ms. Dangelico, her expertly penned words had me mesmerized from start to finish! Highly recommend this one it’ll give your heart a nice little squeeze.
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
You Can Have Manhattan. Having read this book the title now makes me swoon. P. Dangelico had me with that gorgeous cover but I was a greedy, grabby hands fiend once I read the first chapter in her newsletter! She writes gold. I swear it. You Can Have Manhattan has the feels oozing from the pages. I couldn’t hold back the tears, the lump in my throat, or my undeniable crush on our hero, the jackass. Even clowns couldn’t stop it! (Snickers uncontrollably)
A promise made difficult by love and loyalty. P. Dangelico plays to every emotion you have. She will twist and turn you until you are wrung out and begging. You Can Have Manhattan is everything I wished for. Including my happily ever after!
4.5 stars
I read this in one sitting. Absolutely fantastic.
My only issue was his over reaction in a certain part..he went too far. I do not understand how she could be so accommodating and forgiving.
STILL! I loved it so much.
Romeo and Juliet were da bomb!
I loved that this one had a deaf character. All the secondary cast was fabulous.
Must read for 2019!

Would I read more from the author? Hell yes
Would I recommend this book? Hell yes
The chemistry between Scott and Sydney is unreal and kept me glued to the pages. I loved the evolution of each character as they slowly accepted they were very much into their “fake” spouse.
It took me a little while to dig into the plot, which is likely due to my mindset during Covid. I feel like it’s been harder to become engrossed in the novels I’m reading.
But, once I crossed that threshold, and these two were at each other’s throats, I was all in. P. Dangelico did a great job of building that chemistry and showing character development and growth. I couldn’t put it down, and once I reached the end, well, I didn’t want it to end. Scott can be my book boyfriend any day. I’ll definitely be reading more books from this author.
This is a heartwarming sweet romance. This was for me such great from haters to lovers romance. Both Sydney and Scott are great characters easy to love. P.Dangelico has written such great story: from hater faze to slow burn, honeymoon phase (very hot and yummy) heartbroken phase and their own HEA. I loved it, laugh reading it enjoyed it and was so happy to give a chance to read this amazing book.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
P. Dangelico writes another captivating story. I never wanted this delicious and sexy story to end. The characters are real, entertaining, likable and easy to relate to, but have issues they need to work through. Sydney and Scott who are forced to marry, even though they can’t stand each other. Their hate turns to love and it proves that sometimes, opposites do attract in this slow burn love story.
Scott, a reformed playboy, is now content living a quiet life running his ranch in Wyoming. While Sydney, is a driven, workaholic attorney living and loving New York. Scott and Sydney’s marriage is more of a business deal with little romance involved. They don’t like each other, don’t understand each other and are not happy they are being forced into marriage by Scott’s manipulative father. It is highly entertaining watching Scott and Sydney argue, banter and fight and slowly fall in love, without even realizing what is happening.
I enjoyed everything about this story. Scott and Sydney are vulnerable and at times, frustrating. They each have scars and secrets and are afraid to open their hearts. Loved this charming story.
I adored this book! I stayed up way too late reading it because I just could not put it down! So many secrets, so many misconceptions and a meddling father that pulls the strings. Great writing that drew me in and made have all the feels. Hot cowboy, sassy and strong heroine. This book weaves a tale of how the worst beginnings and first impressions aren’t always the truth.
This book and this author were recommended to me a few times so when I was looking for a book to read on a long flight I downloaded it. Now I need to send out thank you letters because this story was just perfect!
“I’m not sleeping with my fake husband”…“That would be the absolute dumbest thing to do.”…“Worse than marrying him to begin with.”
I love a marriage of convenience story and this one delivered in every way. It had a bit of hate to love, a ton of chemistry, some secrets and lies, and plenty of swoony romance.
“I wanted to kiss her. I’d never wanted to kiss a woman more…”
I loved this story! It was my very first by this author but it definitely won’t be my last!
-5 Stars!-
Marriage of convenience story where Scott and Sydney story will drag you and won’t let you go until you finish. This story is sweet and beautifully written. I enjoyed every page your feelings will be all over the place. A phenomenal 5 must read book!
Oh my God, that was GOOD. Not that I expected any less from P. Dangelico because everything I’ve read by her has been fantastic, but this sucked me in from the start and kept me riveted until the very last page. I had to take a brief break to sleep overnight, but I really wasn’t happy about it. It’s so complex and deeply romantic, pairing two people who should not fit together but somehow work perfectly (at least now that they’ve had some time to mature). The ultimate slow burn, I found myself loving reformed party whore Scott and his slow dive into love.
The story follows Sydney, a workaholic lawyer living in New York City who has thrived in life despite her horrible upbringing. She’s devoted to her work and the man who gave her life purpose, and she would do anything to keep him happy…. so when he tells her his dying wish is that she marry his disappointment of a son so that she can take over the company after his death, it’s not something she can refuse. Sydney met Scott about 10 years ago, and he certainly left an impression… but not in a good way. The stereotypical wealthy party whore, Scott had no shame and no desire for more from life. He’s no more enthusiastic about the marriage than Sydney is, especially since he finally has his life on track and is living how he wants out in Wyoming, but he’s got his own reasons for agreeing to the marriage. They just need to get through the next 3 years without killing each other, and then they can both move on with their own lives.
I read a lot of marriage of convenience romance novels, and I love the forced closeness that comes from the couple living together. I also love the banter that comes from an enemies to lovers romance, the tension and slow build to love. This is no different but it is done SO WELL. Everything felt so authentic; these characters go through every emotion imaginable, slowly building from resentful roommates into true partners in marriage. Dangelico navigates the complexities perfectly, because a man who used to let his desire motivate his every action is not an inherently likeable character, but I absolutely loved Scott. He shows how much he’s grown and proves himself to be a worthy partner for the strong and steady Sydney. It was well worth the read and a book I will definitely purchase even though I received an ARC via NetGalley. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this fantastic book.
This story has left a special imprint on my heart!! I’ve had the biggest smile since reading this book! Exciting, humorous, and all around phenomenal!! My first time to experience this author and she definitely left an impact! Loved everything about this story!!
If you love enemies-to-lover, if you love wealthy-good-time-having-now-changed-former-bad-boy, if you love the girl-that-goes-after-what-she-wants, if you love slow building romance then yes. By all means pick up this copy of P.Dangelico’s new romance.
These two have meet before. These two did not hit it off upon meeting for the first time. They are not exactly enemies, but friends would be a very far stretch of the words. Sydney and Scott have both been through much in their lives and have come out of the other side with a different view of life than when they went in. Now, this time around they both have something to gain and lose. Watching them work toward something more was beautiful.
This was such a heartbreaking, heartwarming, emotional read for me — I cried crocodile tears a few times while reading this one and I honestly couldn’t get to sleep after I finished reading it! I loved Scott and Sydney’s character’s and really didn’t want their journey to end–I adored them together so much. Well-developed characters and secondary characters and an excellent, unique storyline made for a very enjoyable read. An arranged marriage or marriage of convenience is one of my favorite genres and this one is up there as one of my favorites! Who doesn’t love watching a reformed playboy fall for a strong, amazing woman?! Slow burn romance, sizzling sexual tension, humor, sweetness, tenderness, and so much emotion. I will certainly be looking forward to more from this author in the future. This was a 5-star winner for me. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
One of the best books I’ve read this year! I would give it six stars if I could! This story hooked me from the very first page, and I stayed stuck reading for the whole Sunday (excepting for yoga class). It’s a measure of how much I like a book when I can’t resist knowing what happens next and I skim-read for a few pages to know what happens next because I’m so desperate to learn. Then guilt rides in and I retreat to the page where I started to skim and continue reading properly. I did this so many times in this book because this is the way I roll when I’m enjoying an exquisite story.
Frank Blackstone owns an empire and wants his son to inherit and run it but the son doesn’t want to. Enter Sydney Evans, his chief counsel, the woman he hired right from Yale Law School and who has worked hard with him for the last ten years. Frank knows Syd loves the company as much as he does, so he proposes a diabolical scheme: marry his son, so when he retires, she can ascend to CEO of the company as a Blackstone.
Syd is ambitious but not that much. Not when it entailed being married to Scott Blackstone, playboy extraordinaire, a wasteful guy who did nothing but spend his father’s money carousing and whoring his way around Manhattan and the world. But Frank was convincing and forceful and he brokered the deal and sealed the pact.
What was supposed to be the fake marriage of the year turned out to be a battle of wills, several pranks, and the spark of an incredible chemistry. What Sydney found was not the playboy she was expecting but a rancher who ran a successful, tightly run operation. In turn, Scott was expecting an ice princess, and as the days went on, he kept peeling layers from the ice princess, he turned into a master reading her minute expressions and found a treasure within.
There is a huge deceit going on, secrets untold and withheld out of loyalty, a desire to belong, a desire to love and be loved, and in Scott, a warming up of the icicle he had in his heart from past mistakes. It truly was a story of redemption, of discovery and rebirth. I loved reading how Scott and Sydney discovered each other and found in each other what they needed but didn’t know they did. It was romantic, passionate, mischievous, dramatic and at some times downright angsty and sad. I cried buckets at one time but chortled through the rest. I loved it and want more!
You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico is the story of Scott Blackstone and Sydney Evans.
Sydney has only herself to rely with no real friends or family. This has worked for her in goal to be the best at her career which has her on the fast track at Blackstone. But when she is asked by her boss to take on an opportunity that will totally advance her work goals to being a new CEO at Blackstone. Of course it is something she really wants…but there is a catch, she must marry Scott Blackstone his son. Scott was a parting guy who enjoyed his women and his drinking in Manhattan but he finally straiten up by leaving to take on a fallen ranch in Wyoming. Then he gets a call from his father telling him he either has to marry Sydney or loose everything. Sydney and Scott had a little bit of a past when she kicked him for his attitude he gave at a family event. So both have prejudged each other from the past and both are not happy about this deal. But, will they find it is the prefect deal after all?
Loved this story and I am such a fan of Ms Dangelico writing!!!
