You Are Dead. (Sign Here Please) is a madcap comedy of truly ludicrous proportions. After Nathan Haynes dies, he discovers that the afterlife is run by straight-laced bureaucrats, but when he refuses to sign his 21B he is punted back to life in his insane home city of Dead Donkey. He can’t rest easy, though – the bureaucrats are out to get him and they will put his papers in order, no matter the … the cost. Will our hero die (again)? Will the bureaucrats trick him into filling the proper forms in? Will Nathan ever get to do his laundry? Find out in You Are Dead. (Sign Here Please)!

Spoiler alert.
First, I did love the serial killer part at the start. Clever and interesting. Kudos.
What I did not like was that the author continuously went off on a tangent paranthetical stories — too distracting and not interesting enough. It must be an intentional plot device, but it did not work for me.
As others noted, the bureaucracy plot is very similar to Douglas Adams which makes it interesting, but loses value because it is old hat.
I kept reading in hopes the story would get on point but it never did.
I applaud anyone who writes. I suggest this author needs to stay on point and build the story faster. Definitely has potential.
i kept waiting…until i quit
This book totally made no sense yet I felt compelled to continue to read it.
A rather sad attempt at trying to imitate Hitchhiker’s Guide. There is silly and there is SILLY. This was SILLY.
inane, boring, first book I put down without finishing in a long time.
Too repetitive. Not worth the tie
I wouldn’t waste my time, but that’s just me.
Not my kind of humor. Didn’t finish it.
I enjoyed this book. It’s a fun premise.
I could relate to so much of what the writer was expressing. And there were so many Laugh Out Loud moments-some that even made my stomach hurt. I am looking forward to the next one in this series. I loved it!
Sorry I just could not get into this book.
If you think you would enjoy making fun of the abundant and stupid bureaucracies that we face, competition between depattments in academia, as well as problems even for good people getting into the after-life, then this is a LOL page turner.
Stupid
I couldn’t out this book down. Original and twisted my funny.
The prologue was hilarious! The first chapter fell flat. It was incredibly dull and lacking in humor as well as creativity. I didn’t bother to read more.
I just could not get interested.
