If growing up in her home wasn’t enough to shatter Madelyn Stone’s illusions of happily ever after, then serving several years behind bars certainly was. Her crime? Believing in family and growing up on the wrong side of the tracks. She’s learned the hard way that there is no such thing as a prince who’ll ride in and save the day, and she pledges never to trust anyone again. Never.Between a … Never.
Between a career in the Marines and plans to marry his childhood sweetheart, Holten Andrews had his future all mapped out…until life took an unexpected, heart-ripping turn. Now he’s moved on with a new career in law, as well as vowing to confine women to one of three categories: family, professional, and f*ckable. No blurring the lines. Ever.
Love is the last thing on Maddy’s mind as she attempts to forge a new path out of the wreckage of her life. Holt’s sense of loyalty is rocked when he’s blindsided by feelings for a woman he would normally condemn. When revelations from Maddy’s past threaten her safety, Maddy has to put her faith in Holt, while Holt fights not to lose the one woman who’s blurred all of his lines. Every choice they make will figure into whether or not they can make yesterday’s dreams still come true tomorrow.

M.E. Montgomery has created beautiful characters who are both trying to overcome their pasts. I like that the heroine is not the stereotypical perfectly put-together woman, but one seeking redemption and vindication, who is unsure of herself and her place in a brand new world. The suspense leads to anxious page-turning at the end, but of course it all works out. Loved it!
After growing up in a broken home and spending the last six years of her life in prison because of her deceptive family Madelyn Stone has a very distorted perception of what happily ever is suppose to look like, and it’s left her to trust no one but herself. She’s fully excepted the fact there isn’t going prince charming in her future, one that step’s in and sweeps her of off her feet and gives her everything she deserves… in her world things just don’t work like that! She’s earned the opportunity to be released from prison through a special work release program, and she has every intention of making the most of it by getting her life back on track, and leaving her haunting past behind her. The problem is someone doesn’t agree with that plan, and they have every intention of making her pay for her past mistakes… which leaves her doing the unthinkable and putting her faith in someone else’s hands again.
Holten Andrews is a former Marine turned lawyer who doesn’t believe in second chances when it comes to love, he had it once and he lost it, and he is certain that was his one shot at it, a shot that he’ll never attempt again. So, any entanglements he has with women now are the strings free kind, he can’t afford to get distracted with relationships knowing they’ll never lead to anything more than heartache. But the minute he meets his new employee something about her intrigues him, she stirs up things in him he never thought he’d feel again, and it scares him beyond belief, he can’t go down that road again. But unfortunately love doesn’t always cooperate, sometimes it forces you to go places you never thought you’d go and want things you never thought were possible…
This beautifully moving story gripped my attention and heart from the first page and refused to let go until long after the last page was turned. I always say the best stories are the ones that make you feel every emotion intended behind every printed word, and almost a week later and I’m still feeling the words! This story ingrained itself in me, and the characters pulled me into their world and had me at their mercy the entire way, when they hurt I hurt, when they were happy I was happy… and in my book it couldn’t possibly get any better than that!! This one took me on a emotional roller coaster ride… and I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of the ride!
HIGHLY recommend you get your hands on this book, it invade your soul, awaken your heart, and restore your faith in second chances!!

The prologue to this book reeled me in and the story never let me go. Where there times I sort of rolled my eyes? Sure, but all in all those were few and far between. Holt and Maddy are engaging characters, Holt’s family is one you wish you were part of, and their story is both tragic and sweet.
Both Holt and Maddy are broken. Both have suffered immeasurable tragedy. Both are unaware of just how broken they are. Each handles their tragedy in different ways. You don’t get the full story on either one of them until you think you’ve got it figured out. You’re probably not even going to be close. Holt’s tragedy happens suddenly, without warning. Maddy’s begins the day she was born and builds from there.
Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. While there is a lot of drama none of it is over-the-top or out of character. There are some pivotal people in the lives of both Holt and Maddy that make you realize the impact we have on one another, most of the time without realizing it. Yesterday’s Tomorrows will touch your heart.
I really, really liked this book. It is about Madelyn and the second chance at a life she truly deserves. Yesterday’s Tomorrows was full of true friendships, unconditional acceptance, pain, loss and romance. The chemistry and witty banter between Madelyn and Holt was one of the reason’s I believe this book was a huge hit for me. The connection between the two of them was not cliched nor was it icky sweet. They worked long and hard to build a friendship….then trust and eventually the romance and love blossomed. This was my first read from M. E. Montgomery but by no means, my last. Definitely a book I will read again!
