The ghosts of the past rarely remain there. Not when the future holds so much possibility for them. When a local man turns up dead at the Apple Blossom Festival Ball, Anna and Pratt discover the man had been writing a tell-all book that outed the sins of a good portion of Crocker’s residents. So when the local cops set out to find the killer, it makes sense to enlist the help of ex big city … enlist the help of ex big city detective Pratt Davies. Pratt’s new in town and therefore one of the few who should be unaffected by the book and able to deal subjectively with the myriad suspects surrounding the murder. But Pratt and Anna quickly learn nobody’s beyond this particular gossip’s range. In fact, it’s possible Pratt’s on the suspect list himself. Along with just about everybody else in Crocker!

Love the Yesterday series!!! Looking forward to reading more of Sam Cheevers and getting into the other series available
Yesterday’s Lost, prequel – Oh my gosh, this book rocks! The intensity, the vivid descriptions, the hurry up and TELL ME what did it!, all these things eats up your patience in this fast paced, suspense filled story. It’s almost with bated breath time in some places in this story; it’s been a long time since a story affected me like this. Move over Koontz and King, Cheever can write this genre too! The author provides information about the characters and the series, as well as an overview of this story, which I appreciate knowing. 5*
Yesterday’s News #1 – Read Yesterday’s Lost first, there’s a lot of foundation for the series, plus it’s an awesome read! There’s still the intensity, vivid descriptions and fast pace that makes this book difficult to put down. The characters are interesting, lovable or not, and run the gamut of types. The story line is well thought out and there’s the twists and turns that’s in every good book. There are so many possibilities where this series can go and I look forward to the rest of the series. The author provides an overview, which I appreciate knowing before I read the book. I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read by this author and with this series and her Familiar series, she has grown in her writing; and she was good with her Silver Hills series. 5*
Threads of Yesterday #2 – Ms. Cheever is a joy to read and this series is one of my favorites. I don’t care too much for ghosts, unless it’s a well written story, and with Yesterday, that’s what the reader gets. I appreciate that all the characters, alive and dead, are a good blend, fit together well, and are easy to accept. There aren’t any stupid folk drama messing up the storylines, but substantial material combining mystery, suspense, intrigue and a touch of romance in the making. I’ve read quite a few of Ms. Cheever’s books and never been disappointed with any, but some are better than others. There’s an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a story is about before I read it. Included is also a glossary of colloquialisms used for those who are clueless about the meaning of words used in the past. 5*
Yesterday’s Ghosts #3 – This story starts a couple months after Threads of Yesterday ended. While each book is not a cliffhanger so far, there are background storylines and one of those is a doozie in this book. Old characters from earlier books appear again, with good and bad results. Our favorite ghosts are still around helping the living and the dead. The main characters keep developing and old secrets are being exposed. It’s hard to investigate the murder of a slimeball, but his murder is a mess with the whole town as suspects. Intriguing and fast paced, another good addition to the Yesterday bunch. There’s an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a story is about before I read it. Included is also a glossary of colloquialisms used for those who are clueless about the meaning of words used in the past. 5*
Yesterday’s Tears #5 – Sadly, I skipped Yule of Yesterday #4, but I still made it through Tears. I don’t how when Tears begins after the end of Yules. This is the most substantial read of the group, and all the previous books are good. Of course, there are multiple storylines and there’s no cliffhanger. A lot happens in this book with the characters, their abilities and the multiple stories. The intrigue and suspense keeps the reader glued to the pages through a bronco busting ride to the end. Fast paced and action packed, the paranormal is pretty much an important player on it’s own. There’s a lot of involvement that adds to the layers of intrigue; making a depth to the mysteries. Nancy would be out of her element in this story. There’s an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a story is about before I read it. Included is also a glossary of colloquialisms used for those who are clueless about the meaning of words used in the past. I found this book on Booksprout. 5*
