Cleverly written. Honest & Insightful.
Definitely recommend the audiobook, read by the incomparable Amy Poehler herself! It’s a great memoir, insider’s glimpse into the fascinating worlds of improv, comedy, television, and the entertainment industry. More than that, though, it’s just a really great story told by a really amazing, funny, and witty person. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
This book was a little bit of a disappointment. I love Amy Poehler. One of the funniest women out there. But this book was all name dropping about who she knows, who she hangs out with, and who she has met. It got to a point where I just wanted the book to end.
Don’t get me wrong. It had its good points. There were a lot of funny stories …
Listen to the audio book if possible. Listening to her and her special guests read the book makes it even better.
So funny and entertaining! It was so enjoyable! I reread it every time I need a good life. It’s one of my favorite celebrity memoirs. It’s perfect for a nice, fun, pretty easy read.
Overall good, missed more funny situations. The best chapter was at the very end when she was reading her book to an audience. I laughed a lot!
This might sound like a no-brainer, but I do feel like you have to like, admire, or appreciate Amy Poehler in some capacity to enjoy this book. I saw some negative reviews and they came from people who don’t really care for her or what she does. This book won’t persuade to like her. This book is hilarious, of course. She can make an otherwise …
Astonishingly insightful. Suspected this would be good, but it was great!

A few weeks back, I reviewed Still Foolin’ ‘Em by Billy Crystal. That book left me with such awesome, warm thoughts that I decided to find another comedian’s memoir to listen to on my way …
I was hoping to find this book inspiring, like some sort of self-help book but from Amy’s perspective so it’d be funny and inspiring at the same time, but turned out it’s just an autobiography that was all about Amy Poehler. Very disappointed.
