She is not happy.
A DEVIL’S BARGAIN
The two first collide, quite literally, while somebody is shooting at Jason. In spite of the danger, he and Rachel strike sparks from each other in a battle of wits. Rachel devises a plan that will enable Jason is to escape England, thus freeing them both from a fate worse than death–marriage…to each other! If only the Yankee clodpole weren’t so damnably witty and handsome. Jason quickly sees that his sharp-tongued “Countess” is right. They must work together to avoid leg-shackling…if only she weren’t so damnably bright and beautiful. As the squabbling pair matches wits with the manipulative old marquess, mysterious assassins and kidnappers menace them. Rachel begins to wonder if marrying the wild Yankee would be so terrible after all. Loved, loved, loved this book! Loved the characters and the plot, the supporting character! The story was so well written and developed so well. I was never sure what would happen next. You will
Love this book!
Fun to read and plot kept you guessing
Kept me up late, finishing it which is always a sign of a Good Read to me.
Great read…held my interest from start to finish.
A mystery and a romance! A very nice combination.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Wonderful characters
I love strong female characters. Great story, very well written
Nice plot twist
I really enjoyed this book
nice addition with an American!
This is a good historical romance for a nights read.
Easy to read chic lit for the American market weak knowledge of England.
A little slow moving. Not a page turner.
The story was okay. Too many characters and they were called by different names throughout. Very hard to follow. Then throwing in a male character with a traditional female name made it even worse.
Lots of referrals to “designer” items. I didn’t find it necessary. If it was referenced once, that would have been okay. But it was constant. I didn’t see the importance of that.
The story was believable. I did question some things. They didn’t seem necessary or to fit for moving the story forward. I think it could have been a much better book with a different editor to make the writer push herself a little to change some things.
I read it. I was glad I finished it. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Delightful turn about putting an American into the role of an Earl. Feisty and spirited push and pull from the heroine and her Earl. Kept me turning the pages! Did not disappoint!!
Great book easy to read
I enjoyed it.
Very entertaining and a surprise toward the end.
Great
This may be a work of fiction, but could actually have happened. The characters were so real and believable. I loved reading about this time in history.
