Love series by Sue Grafton!
This is a really good suspense story in that it has many twists and turns and an unpredictable conclusion. It’s actually two stories in one so there is a lot going on but it’s done in an entertaining fashion.
As the final book, there is something about the flashbacks that make it particularly poignant. Sue Grafton really was a legend.
Grafton’s series started my interest in murder mysteries.
A favorite author presenting humor in all her books. Gone from us too soon.
I like this series but sometimes they feel like the same thing. This was was more entertaining then the last few!
I have read the entire Alphabet series from Sue Grafton. They are great.
have loved all the previous book (3-4) stars but even though I purchased this one, I did not even complete. It did not hold my interest. Very disappointing.
This is the last Kinsey Milhone novel. This book goes back into Kinsey’s past.
I’m very sorry it is the last book Sue wrote, I wanted to read Z
Never disappointing
I love this series. The author provides in-depth details, while providing a thought provoking storyline. Each book is just as good or better than the last. The heroine or main character is endearing and realistic. My mission is to read each book in this series.
Very good, but I found the constant switching back and forth between timeframes distracting
Enjoyed this mystery!
Who doesn’t love Kinsey.
I’ve been a fan of Ms Grafton’s from A to Y!! And after reading this one, I’m sad there will be no “Z”. She was always able to put me right in the action, story, mishaps, or whatever Kinsey Millhone was into at that moment. I loved the way she stayed true to the decades of the 70’s and 80’s as she wrote her stories thru the years. Of course, if you didn’t live in those eras, then some of the things were definitely ‘alien’ to you. All her characters made a home with me and I was anxious to read about Henry, Rosie, Cheney, etc each time. It was visiting with old friends and catching up on what has happened in their lives. Ms Grafton made it like ‘old home week’ with each installment of Kinsey and friends. Sure there’s bad guys thrown in enough to make it interesting, but the life long friends made it tolerable to deal with that. This one switched back and forth from a ten year gap between 1979/1989 and did so with ease. I didn’t have problem following the transitions other than not being able to KNOW who was really the bad guy until pretty close to the end of the book for me. I put off reading this as long as I could (Ms Grafton passed away in 2017) and now, well…if you’re a fan, you’ll understand.
Excellent series!
Not the best book in the series but still enjoyable.
Love Grafton, can’t wait for next book
So sorry to see the series end!
