Cindi Janis was worried. The murders had been all over the newspapers. Young, redheaded women were found murdered, too many to be just a coincidence. Cindi hadn’t heard from her Aunt Caroline in quite some time, and she fit the description of one of the victims. So did she, for that matter. A short trip to Ohio and Cindi could claim the body if it was indeed her aunt and get on with her life. But … But what she found when she got to Ohio wasn’t on her agenda.
Xavier Manning wanted to help; someone needed to go to the airport to pick up Miss Janis to get this nasty business of identifying the body out of the way. He hadn’t expected that the beautiful redhead getting off the plane was going to be his mate.
The killings were getting closer to home. Now that Xavier had his mate and she fit the killer’s profile, the pressure to solve these murders was ramped up. Would Cindi be next?

Grace’s muse is talking again and this time it was telling her about women who were being murdered; one not far from her studio. With the knowledge there are several women, all redheads with the same attributes, the Manning family know they must figure out who is responsible and put a stop to it. Not that he was anti-social, but Xavier wasn’t like the rest of his brothers. He thoroughly enjoyed his privacy and alone time and truthfully? He knew his mate was out there somewhere but he was hoping he wouldn’t meet her until after the holidays. He felt like it would be odd buying a gift for someone he didn’t know all that well. When Cindi Janis is notified it could be her Aunt she immediately called the area for a place to stay while there. One thing led to another and she wound up buying the Bed and Breakfast in the small town. What she didn’t expect, was to arrive and immediately after meeting Tristan Manning, to be told she was his mate. She didn’t have time for men right now but as we’ve learned, fate will not be denied and neither were Tristan and Cindi. There were so many unexpected twists, turns, and surprises in this last book to “The Manning Dragons” and I was really rather sad to see it end. I know this is a series, I’ve read over and over
. .
Great ending to the series. More to come in a new series about Xavier ‘s children
Xavier is the youngest of the Manning men. He just found his mate in business woman Cindi Janis. Condo came to town to ID a body that may be her missing aunt.
Cindi and Xavier get to know each other, and fall in love, become mates and get married. Her over protective brother is not happy, breaking her heart, requiring a come to Jesus talk.
They learn a friend of Cindi’s is in danger. Her bank robber father is out of prison and wants the money he knows she took. He is killing women he thinks looks like her. The Manning brothers step up to keep her safe and end the threat.
The Manning brothers and their mates are settling in. Starting families. Living a life that would make their parents proud.
Xavier and Cindi find that their children will be different than their cousins. Everyone is anxiously awaiting the new arrivals.
A great ending to the series. Xavier and Cindi’s children will be getting their own series. Xavier ‘s Hatchlings.
What a way to end a series!
Then to tease about what’s to come with Xavier’s babies?!? Oh you are such a meanie Kathi!
Xavier Manning is the last of the Manning dragons left that isn’t mated. At one time he thought he’d be happy to just be the uncle to all the children coming into the family, but he’s determined to find the same kind of happiness his brothers have found with their mates.
–I’m going to insert a complaint right here about Xavier. In previous books and at the beginning of this Kathi describes Xavier as being different than the other brothers and how this could complicate him finding his mate. I wish we would’ve gotten to know in what ways Xavier was different besides just being the youngest and not having much memories of his parents before they died. —
Cindi Janis may have inherited her company and a bit of wealth from her parents when they died, but she’s been able to turn her companies around make herself a millionaire. When she goes to Ohio to look at a body that might just possibly be her wayward aunt she never expected to meet a man claiming she was his mate.
Xavier and Cindi’s story might be one of my favorites. While Xavier and Cindi do in a way fall in love fast and instantly, they don’t go and jump straight into bed to consummate their mating. They first get to know each other and fall in love with each other in all aspects. They don’t just rely on the mating. I’m sad that the Manning’s stories are coming to an end, but as I mentioned above, Kathi has teased that we will get Xavier’s children (dragon children) soon and I’m sure that means we’ll get to catch up with all the couples.
