“An inventive plot and incisive character studies elevate MWA Grand Master Grafton’s twenty-fourth Kinsey Millhone novel…This superior outing will remind readers why this much-loved series will be missed as the end of the alphabet approaches.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review)X: The number ten. An unknown quantity. A mistake. A cross. A kiss…Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling … kiss…
Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling novel, X features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this deadly sociopath. The test is whether private investigator Kinsey Millhone can prove her case against him—before she becomes his next victim.

Love Sue Grafton books and she is a great author. This Kinsey Millhone book is no exception.
Always like Sue Grafton.
Love Sue G. Books have read them all.
Love the alphabet mystery novels and this one had lots of twists and turns.
Not the best in this alphabet series — but I’ll stick with Ms Grafton all the way to “Z”
Every little while I take another crack at Kinsey Millhone, because there are so many books in the series and if I liked them, I’d always have something to read. But the filler bogs me down–Kinsey walks down a hallway. She puts on a pot of coffee. She looks through her junk mail while she’s waiting for the water to boil. She pours herself a cup. She walks back to her office…She spends *paragraphs* doing mundane little things. The prose style doesn’t sustain my interest.
Having read all the Kinsey Milhone books, this one was very good and did not disappoint. Looking forward to reading the next in the series and sorry there’s only 2 more letters in the alphabet!
I love all these books! Can’t set them down!
Have read and enjoyed Kinsey from A-X. Looking forward to Y but hoping she continues after Z.
This one was a letdown after reading almost all the other Sue Grafton “letter” books.
I have now read all of Sue Graftons books. And I loved them. Sorry to see she is at end of alphabet
Ending wasn’t realistic.
Tragic in that the bad guy may get away, realistic in that like real life there are many things or stories going on at the same time so nothing is predictable until it happens.
I have read all of Sue Grafton’s books so far. I like her heroine and it’s nice to see a woman do such a good job in a profession formerly held by men. She’s smart and funny at the same time. It was a very good read.
Another excellent book in the Kinsey series. I will hate to see it end.
Sue Grafton is so good at what she does in building this lovely world in the 1980’s California coastal town of Santa Theresa that you wish the tale would never end. She knows how to tell a good story and plots it through meticulously.
X was great!
Love all her books! The characters are thourghly entertaining. A light read.
This was an enjoyable read. Great characters!
Predictable but a good read.
