“An inventive plot and incisive character studies elevate MWA Grand Master Grafton’s twenty-fourth Kinsey Millhone novel…This superior outing will remind readers why this much-loved series will be missed as the end of the alphabet approaches.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review)X: The number ten. An unknown quantity. A mistake. A cross. A kiss…Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling … kiss…
Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling novel, X features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this deadly sociopath. The test is whether private investigator Kinsey Millhone can prove her case against him—before she becomes his next victim.

Not up to her usual work, but entertaining
I really enjoyed this book. I’ve read all the alphabet mysteries and this did not disappoint.
Very enjoyable like the previous Kinsey Milhone tales!
Sue Grafton novels always are great fun to read, and one really feels like you know the main character, Kinsey Malone, and others who appear in her novels. I will be very sad when this series is complete. I have read everyone of them!
Not one of Grafton’s best. Ending left too much up in the air. Didn’t like it, and I’ve enjoyed A thru W.
I am a huge fan of this Ms Grafton and have read every book A-X…
This is one author who has burned out and never disappoints
Sue Grafton’s series of Lindsay Milhone books are all great.I love this character!
I have loved all the books in this series, but it seems like the last couple have been mediocre at best. The author has either run out of steam or lost interest. The plot was not riveting, and was predictable. No surprises in this on
I have read all of Sue Grafton’s books. This was not one of my favorites but it is a good read.
I have read many books by this author and while I enjoyed the book, I COULD put it down, sometimes for days. It plodded along, but I did finish it.
Only read about 25 pages and found it noncomprehensible.
I’d been tired of her other books because they ere somewhat the same. Really enjoyed this one.
Kinsey Milhone fans…only Y and Z to go!
I will be very sorry when this series gets to Z.
Very good. Enjoyed the mysteries, and the fact that Kinsey was not, for a change of pace, seriously injured, in a wreck that destroyed her car, etc.
there was little added to the character development over time…
You really need to have read this whole series to be able to understand the backstory which becomes part of the plot.
Still worth the time to read
Like all books by Sue Grafton, this to was real entertainment and enjoyment to read
