“An inventive plot and incisive character studies elevate MWA Grand Master Grafton’s twenty-fourth Kinsey Millhone novel…This superior outing will remind readers why this much-loved series will be missed as the end of the alphabet approaches.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review)X: The number ten. An unknown quantity. A mistake. A cross. A kiss…Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling … kiss…
Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling novel, X features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this deadly sociopath. The test is whether private investigator Kinsey Millhone can prove her case against him—before she becomes his next victim.

I love these alphabet series! X means I only have a couple left to read
I love this series and am sorry it’s ending.
Grafton still is going strong.
I just love Sue Grafton. I’m going to miss the end of the alphabet! Her books are intriguing, and I like her style. She’s like Janet Evanovich without the humor and slapstick!
What can I say other then it’s Sue Grafton!!!!!
I really enjoy Sue Grafton books. I’ve read all her books. This one has many characters to keep track of but overall I really enjoyed reading this book.
I believe she should have quit awhile back the last few books were so repetitive it looked like she was doing this to add words. Loved her books to start but will not read the last ones.
One of my favorites
Sue Grafton novels are always fun and enjoyable.
Revisited old friends in her usual characters while meeting some new!
Way too much random information about gray water and conservation, too many unrelated side stories, not nearly enough focus on the primary story. You hardly spend any time with the victim or perpetrator, and saying that the perpetrator is a “sociopath” as I read in reviews is ridiculous. Just a selfish immature punk. I had a hard time finishing this book and kept expecting it to get better but it didn’t. I used to like Sue Grafton but haven’t read her in years. I am not sure what changed – her style, or my preferences – but I don’t recall ever being so bored reading her previous books.
A good Milhone whodunit, but there are weak spots.
I love Sue Grafton’s books. Great author and books are so entertaining.
Great book
This isn’t the best Sue Grafton novel, but it is a good one. There were a number of developments for the new characters and the old ones weren’t left behind either. A good read for 5hose who are Kinsey fans.
Another Grafton great, as always.
I love this letter series. They all have kept me captivated. Just not big on foul language.
Sue Grafton really knows how to tell a story. Her style is all her own and I enjoy all her books.
Icenjoy reading all of Sue Grafton’s books
As always, entertaining till the end.
