“An inventive plot and incisive character studies elevate MWA Grand Master Grafton’s twenty-fourth Kinsey Millhone novel…This superior outing will remind readers why this much-loved series will be missed as the end of the alphabet approaches.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review)X: The number ten. An unknown quantity. A mistake. A cross. A kiss…Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling … kiss…
Perhaps Sue Grafton’s darkest and most chilling novel, X features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this deadly sociopath. The test is whether private investigator Kinsey Millhone can prove her case against him—before she becomes his next victim.

My ex got me hooked on Sue Graftons books. I own a lot of them. Her characters are always great.
Great read. Kept me interested.
What happens after ‘Z’?
The best one of this series that I have read. Faster moving than some of them have been with some especially interesting characters.
It was quite riveting and there were times I just couldn’t put it down. Good read!
Sorry to see this series end. Have loved every book!
Sue never lets me down. One of my favorite authors. Love the well drawn characters.
Not one of her best. Expected more from her.
Kinsey is my favorite PI.
If you like Grafton you’ll like this one too.
Long and boring. Much ado about nothing
Love her books.
Sue Grafton never disappoints. Another great book I couldn’t put down. I just love the characters, can’t wait to see what they do next. Can’t wait for Y.
One of my favorite authors
I love all her books!
This was Sue Grafton’s next to last book, she made it to “Y” before she died. How sad for all of us who are fans Ms. Grafton’s heroine Kinsey Milhone that the saga has ended. She wrote characters that are memorable, believable and end up making you feel like they are people you really know. Every one of her books from “A” to “Y” are absorbing reads.
Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone is always a treat. Great characters and wonderful story telling make this series of books must reads.
Not nearly as good as other Sue Grafton’s books. It was OK, but seemed to go in circles. Usually, in my opinion, she’s more to the point, with side characters interfering slightly, but not having their own “scene” and full story within the main story. I have enjoyed other books by her much more than I did this one.
As with all of Sue Grafton’s books, this was excellent! I don’t know how she does it, but I always can’t wait for the next book by her. I sure hope she keeps writing as I heard something on the Internet that she’s ending with Z.
I have long been a fan of the alphabet books!! And this does not disappoint!
Just about time you figure out “who done it” the plot takes a turn and you are back to reading faster..
This is nearing the end of this series of books and I for one am really going to miss these great books, of a young woman alone, trying to get by…with her great landlord Henry to encourage her.
