WYVERN’S ANGEL is the fifth full-length novella in Deborah Cooke’s THE DRAGONS OF INCENDIUM paranormal/fantasy romance series focusing on the royal female dragon shifters of Incendium as they search for their ‘HeartKeeper’-their mate- and the ‘Carrier of the Seed’. This is Bond and Princess Percipia’s story line. WYVERN’S ANGEL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspective (Bond and Percipia) WYVERN’S ANGEL follows dragon Princess Percipia as she goes in search of the ‘Carrier of the Seed’. Once in a lifetime, the Carrier of the Seed is said to come into a dragon princess’ life, and on this day, as she and her sisters step out for a night on the town, Percipia will scent the Carrier of the Seed. Enter Bond, a stranger of unknown origins, but a stranger whose secrets have targeted our couple for potential extermination. A former member of her sister Princess Angussa’s crew, Bond has a mission of utmost importance, that once completed, will free him from his mortal bindings. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Bond and Percipia, and the fall-out as Bond must return to where he belongs, leaving a heartbroken Percipia to mourn the loss of her potential HeartKeeper.
WYVERN’S ANGEL is a fast paced, thrilling adventure as Percipia and Bond must outwit and outmaneuver that which is coming to destroy them both. The premise is action packed and animated; the romance is passionate and spirited; the characters are secretive and energetic. WYVERN’S ANGEL is an intriguing look at dragons, shape shifters, and the power of love.
Wow – just – Wow. What an AWESOME series. I received this book as an ARC from an author I’ve enjoyed the heck out of everyone of her stories. What an imagination! It was the first of the series I’ve read, although I have all the rest on my Nook and have been wanting to dive in. As a reader who likes to immerse in an author’s world and read a series interrupted by other books, it was a bit hard to figure out. Once Deb hooked me up to her world guide on her website, I was good to go!
Percipia, one of the 12 dragon shifter princesses of Incendium, goes out with her sisters for a night on the town. All of them are aware that there’s a special man in town, her “Carrier of the Seed”, the one individual in the universe who can give her a child. It’s Percipia’s and she can’t resist him. It turns out he’s a fallen angel, who volunteered to lose his wings and fall from the heavenly realms for this very important task. If he fails he can never go home to his brethren. Wow, what a journey these two go on while they try to have some private time together. This story was short, 129 pages, but packed with action, surprises and romance. I found myself pulling for both of them to complete the quest and maybe find Percipia’s Heartmate, her forever love.
This was an entertaining, well written book. Percipia is a dragon shifter princess and Bond is a secret spy for a group of space pirates, as well as a fallen angel with a love of pleasure. She doesn’t want anything long term, she feels compelled to claim the Seed and conceive a child. He has a mission to fulfill and little time to spare, but he is drawn to the sensations he feels with Percipia. This was book 9 in the Dragons of Incendium series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more stories in this series as well as other books by this author.
