I really liked this book
Even though I figured out the the bad guy was early in the book, I still enjoyed it.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book. But by the end I was in love with it. It was a great ride.
This is a new series by author Vicki Tharp. This book is about deputy Wyatt Wolfe who is accused of being dirty because he killed another cop. So he starts a PI service, but things are a little tight money wise. Geneva Steele is going to prove he’s corrupt since he killed her husband. The sheriff lets Wyatt down, but he has reasons. This book is well written with lots of intrigue and romance. I really enjoyed this book I can’t wait for the next to come out, but then again Vicki Tharp is one of my favorite authors.
This is a great beginning to a new series. Wyatt is such a unexpected guy. Ex Sheriff Deputy who lost his job because is adopted “dad” didn’t stand up for him when he was faced with a horrible situation. He was proved right yet people looked at him like he had done wrong. His relationship with his “dad” Day also plays a big part of the story. His “dad” is the Sheriff and had taken him in off the street. His lack of belief in Wyatt adds to his problems. He is living in his bubble as a P.I. when Rodriguez, Wyatt’s childhood friend and fellow Deputy Sheriff, pulls him back into the murder case. At the same time his attraction to Geneva is a problem for him and for most of the book he is filled with guilt.
Geneva is a mix of types. She is a emergency responder yet she gets extremely emotional at certain given situations. Geneva is sure Wyatt is responsible for her misery and she is out to prove it. It is very entertaining how she picks him up and how he turns the situation around on her. Her strength comes out many times when she thinks quickly on her feet and gets Wyatt out of bad situations.
There are so many little entertaining parts to this story such as when Geneva makes her excuses for picking up Wyatt. When she talks their way out of why they are in a empty warehouse and as she saves Wyatt from being shot are a few of the roll my eyes moments. This story is full of mystery, romance and a touch of comedy. The secondary characters are so well explained that they become real. I can’t wait to see what will be next in this series. If I have a say it will be Cassie’s story.
Wyoming Confidential is the first book in the Steele-Wolfe Securities series by Vicki Tharp. This well written story has a thought out and well developed plot, with fascinating and engaging characters that feel real with emotions and personalities that the reader can relate with. The action, mystery, drama, suspense – keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing on who did it. There is the emotion- the hurt, the comfort, the forgiveness, the healing – and there is a friendship and passion that develops. I am beyond excited for the next book.
WOW! What a great story! Definity an 8-star rating!!
WYOMING CONFIDENTIAL kept me up till late into the night. Then kept me from doing housework the next day. Nothing got in my way of reading about Wolfe and Geneva. Their story was so engaging I actually considered reading the book again…. right after I finished reading it the first time!
The storyline was fantastic. The characters were rich and found their way inside of my head with their very real emotions and interactions. The book is a ‘who done it’ and I could not figure out who did it until chapter 17 (the book has 19 chapters). I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the bad guy(s) were.
This author, Vicki Tharp, has a way of creating a visual with words that is unbeatable. I’m a fan. I would have easily given this book an 8-STAR rating if it was an option.
