There’s a reason they call me Wylde and it’s not just because it’s my last name. I might be one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team, but I’m no stranger to the celebrity that goes along with being a professional hockey player. Whether it’s a fan seeking an autograph or a puck bunny looking for more, I’ve grown used to the attention. I not only thrive on it; I use it to my … thrive on it; I use it to my advantage. Let’s just say my bed is rarely empty.
When a quirky redhead at the local bookstore stops me dead in my tracks, I decide to pop in and turn on the trusty Wylde magic. As smart and strong-willed as she is beautiful, Clarke Webber isn’t swayed by my witty banter or charming good looks. And when she realizes who I am and the fame that comes along with it, she likes me even less. Thankfully, I’m always up for a challenge. The more I get to know about her, the more I know my playboy days are behind me.
If I’m going to capture Clarke’s heart, it’s time to be a lot less Wylde, and a lot more Aaron.

ARC received from author for an honest review
Woot! Another Sawyer Bennett hockey hottie to add to my collection!
I am truly, deeply missing hockey during the time of COVID-19, so I have to get all my thrills through hockey books.
I have been intrigued by Aaron Wylde since he turned up in he earlier books in the series, and he did not disappoint.
And I want to be Clarke when I grow up – she owns a book shop, and catches they eye of a sexy hockey player lol.
If you are a fan of weddings, you are going to love this installment – not telling who though!
This installment felt just a little bit too easy though, if that makes sense? Not that that is a bad thing, it was just that nothing really happened. There were a few sad moments, but nothing to grip you like a vice and make you worry for our lovelies – this is probably just a me thing though. I love it when there is no stupid mis/non communications and things, but I still want something to make me growl at my Kindle.
I loved seeing more of the Vengeance boys, and there is something that I hope will be more information in the next installment, something that felt unfinished at the time.
Give me more, Ms Bennett, give me more!
Book 7 in the Arizona Vengeance Series and just when you think it can’t get any better Ms Bennett throws a spanner in the works with yet another swoon worthy hero and this one goes by the name of Aaron Wylde. Wylde by name and Wild by nature, this man is player on the team and off the team, he lives up to his celebrity status and truth be known he loves every minute of it but that’s all about to change when a beautiful nerdy woman turns his life upside down…..
Clark runs a local bookshop and she is happy with her life, she certainly doesn’t want a celebrity raking up her past so she does her best to say no to the man she is extremely attracted to but even her willpower is no match for Wylde the man who is used to getting what he wants…..
This book ticked all my boxes, I loved everything about this story, the characters are adorable, the story is romantic and sexy and let’s not forget it’s always great to catch up with the Arizona Vengeance players and their families. I love this series and I really don’t want it to end so I’m excited for the next instalment from this very talented author. If you love hockey and romance you need to one click this gem of a read which is a great addition to the series.
Wylde by Sawyer Bennett is part of the Arizona Vengeance Series and can be read as a stand-alone. It tells the story of Wylde a hockey player for the Arizona hockey team and Clarke a bookstore owner. Wylde convinces her to go to one of the weddings of his teammates, even though she has been burned in the past. Needless to say, she ends up misjudging him and agrees.
Clarke has been terribly hurt in the past in a very public way and Wylde did not have the best upbringing. He has never been in a relationship. How will these two navigate their attraction to each other?
This was a great instant attraction love story with a HEA. Former team members/couples from the series were quite prevalent in this story, which were great to re-visit.
In September, Kane’s story releases and I cannot wait!
Aaron Wylde is known around the NHL as a playboy. He likes woman and he’s not ashamed to admit it. He’s a professional athlete and is no stranger to the status that goes along with that. He’s not looking for anything serious, but when he sees a gorgeous red head while out on a run, he finds it hard to stay away.
The minute Clark Webber meets Wylde, she can tell he’s a jock. What she doesn’t realize is that he’s a professional hockey player, and with that comes a certain level of fame. Fame she’s tried very hard to avoid since her brush with it years ago. She doesn’t want to like him, but the more time they spend together, the more she realizes that not all famous people are the same. Can she put aside her past and trust in Aaron or will the famous Wylde be too much to handle?
The Arizona Vengeance is one of my favorite series from Sawyer Bennett. Wylde drew me in from the very beginning, and I read this book in one sitting. I didn’t want to put it down. Ever since Tacker’s book, I’ve been intrigued by Wylde and this book just solidified him as one of my top 3 guys from the Vengeance team. Wylde is sweet and caring, but isn’t afraid to throw down when he needs to. And Clarke, I loved her, she’s smart and not afraid to put Aaron in his place. They are the perfect match. I never want this series to end!
Aaron Wylde is simple captivated by the beautiful Clarke from the moment he sets eyes on her,but Clarke’s past may keep them from having a happily ever after.
Totally devoured this book in one sitting! Beautiful characters with real life issues ,a swoon worthy hero, out to win the girl, add in heartfelt emotions with some hot sexiness and you’ve got the perfect romance! A sweet and sexy read is why I love Sawyer Bennett!
Ah these hockey boys and the girls they fall for. I can never get enough.
Wylde (Or Aaron, really) is called by his last name because he’s the resident playboy, never gone settle down blah blah. Anyone believe that? Nope he’s just ripe for the pickin of a good love story. Of course he finds himself a hottie who owns a book store. YES, a real life book nerd, they’re the best! Her name is Clarke and she’s super real and nice and meshes well with everyone. But she has some baggage and even though Aaron’s never done the girlfriend thing, or at least rarely, they’re both takin a big chance on each other.
I like his relentlessness and confidence when it comes to courting Clarke. And it was interesting as this whole book takes place in the off season, so I’d kinda like to see how they handle it when he’s super busy. And man there’s a lot of weddings and character updates in this book! YAY!!! All in all, another GREAT addition to the Vengeance series.
Wylde by name, wild by nature. What a wonderful, angst free, enjoyable read. A truly addictive hockey romance that sees bookshop owner Clarke Webber attracting the attention of NHL hockey star Aaron Wylde after he sees her through her shop window. Intrigued by the quiet red head who knows nothing of his fame (in fact she knows nothing about hockey at all), he manages to snag a couple of dates out of her. Herein starts the demise of Aaron’s reputations as the biggest playboy on the Arizona Vengeance. Clarke May have agreed to a couple of dates, but she isn’t a pushover, and she’s been taken advantage of in the past, she’s not going to let Aaron charm his way into her life. A perfect beach read that I found thoroughly enjoyable. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
WYLDE was awesome!! I love how Sawyer addresses insecurities we all seem to have at some point in time. I also love how we get glimpses of all the teammates who’ve had books already.
Aaron Wylde is the team’s known playboy. Everyone knows it including the fans. His reputation is so notorious that everyone calls him Wylde instead of Aaron. It’s the off-season and he’s keeping up with his workouts when his path for his morning run hets changed. He notices a woman in a small bookstore that causes him to make an excuse to go inside.
Clarke Webber owns a small bookstore. She goes out of her way to try to avoid being the major focus of anything. She can’t help but notice Aaron when he comes in stumbling to make conversation. He’s trying to ask her out but she’s intimidated by him. He makes a bet she figures he can’t win, but oh was she wrong. Now she’s his date for 2 weddings.
Clarke has a secret that’s not so secret that has caused her to shy away from anyone with any kind of celebrity fame. She’s convinced this relationship would never work because she has extreme trust issues. Aaron is determined to convince Clarke otherwise!
Just when I thought it wasn’t possible, another Arizona Vengeance player has stolen my heart and I can say without hesitation that I do not want it back! I absolutely adore Aaron Wylde, and oh how I love when a “player” like him finally meets the one they are meant to share their heart and life with and does a complete 180. Clarke is so wonderful! I really like her. She has been through the ringer in the not so distant past and is not easily trusting of men because of it. Their meet cute is fantastic!! Wylde has some literary skills! Literally! I loved it so much!! And I really enjoyed their journey to their HEA!! Such a great story! For a guy who has never done this before, Aaron shows her he is so much more than “Wylde” as he proves to be patient, understanding and loving like no other. I LOVE their story so much!!
And OMG getting all that good stuff from some of the incredible couples we’ve met in the previous books is like Christmas morning for a fan of this series!! So thank you for giving these gifts to us Sawyer Bennett!! This was absolutely amazing!! My heart is so happy!
Wylde is the seventh book in the Arizona Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett. You can read each book as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series since it’s full of hot hockey players and their leading ladies. Aaron Wylde is one of the newest players, he was traded to Vengeance before the season started. If you have read the series then you have met the latest playboy of the team. Well, now it’s time for him to fall like the others before him.
Aaron might be new to The Vengeance but he wasn’t new to the fame. He played for Texas with Tacker before being traded to Arizona. He loves the game and all the perks that come along with it. Woman, fame, parties. That was until he jogs by a book shop near his place. In that book shop he spots a woman that normal wouldn’t be on his radar but there was something about her that made him look twice. Ok, three times before he walks into her shop.
Clarke notices him. Of course she does, he is gorgeous in a jock kind of way. He is also a bit awkward with side of charming. Totally not her type at all. She was more into nerdy guys who haV their noses stuck in the a book. Then this guy goes and tricks her into two dates. And, it’s the best days ever but they also complicated things. She doesn’t want to be in the spotlight and dating a hockey player would do just that. Can she focus on the way Aaron makes her feel instead of thinking about all the other shit? It’s definitely not easy but nothing worth it ever is.
Awe!! I loved this one. I have loved them all but this one is my new favorite! I love that Wylde has more layers than anyone thought he had. I love that he doesn’t go for a bombshell but a nerdy hot woman who doesn’t realize how beautiful she is, glasses and all. Their banter is fun, flirty, and sexy. It’s a slow burn and that just made it even more of story. I didn’t want to stop reading once I started.
Overall…it’s one of my favorites of the series. It’s a slow burn with all the feels! I laughed. I swooned. I got hot and bothered. I swooned some more. I teared up. It was everything I expected and even more! I can’t wait for the next book…Kane, you are up next, Buddy!
Quotes:
“I must be a glutton for punishment,” he intones, straightening his body. “Because I’m bound and determined to get you to like me, Clarke Webber.”
“Just so you two know… guys who read are hot.”
“Really?” Kane asks curiously.
“Really,” she affirms.
“Kiss me again, Clarke.”
I absolutely love reading a book that has the biggest playboy adamant he’s staying single and will not be bitten by the bug because they are usually the ones that fall the hardest. Aaron Wylde is the biggest playboy on the Arizona Vengeance team, in fact, he’s not called “WYLDE” for nothing, but that title goes down in flames once he meets the nerdy bookstore owner, Clarke. Clarke plays it safe never dating anyone that could destroy her after a devistating betrayal but that all changes when she meets Aaron. I loved these two so much and were cheering them on the entire time. This series has quickly become a favorite and I can’t wait to see what Sawyer has in store for us with the rest of team
After winning the cup and the celebrating is starting, one day while running Aaron aka Wylde sees this gorgeous red head he turns around and walks into the store. He is captivated by her wit, charm and sassiness the minute he meets her. Their journey to an HEA is full of struggles, on her part and his investing himself into this relationship is a priority for him. They will both have to face their past to have a future with the past impacting on their lives. Another fabulous story, with some drama and lots of heat and the whole gang is present to witness their story as it unfolds. Can’t wait to see who’s next of the last singles to fall. I honestly volunteered to review the story
Another outstanding read. Aaron is a playboy but once he sees Clarke through the window of her store he can’t help but go into the store and “meet her.” She has been hurt in the past and holds back when he tries to make her go out with him. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Being one of the biggest playboys of the Arizona Vengeance team, it was great to see how he now transformed into a loving, patient, adoring boyfriend. When Clarke explained why she was the way she was his reaction to her was one of understanding and patience. He didn’t push her to do anything that she was not comfortable with. He didn’t even push her to sleep with him. Ordinarily he would sleep with most puck bunnies and never think twice about repeating with the same one. Now he was actually dating Clarke and at the end of each date would kiss her goodnight and be on his way home. Its always great to see the playboys meet their match and settle down. Also great to see all the other teammates and their spouses and catch up with them. So many weddings, and now new characters adding to the team. I can never get enough of this team and returning to previous characters and see what they are up to.
Once again a phenomenal read by an incredible author.
4.5 stars
This book just gave me so many warm fuzzies! Not only is the couple a great and unexpected match, but we also get to spend quality time with the other couples and share more of their joy. It’s a whole lot of happy with a sweet romance and just a touch of angst.
Aaron Wylde is known as the playboy on the Arizona Vengeance. His lifestyle has revolved around winning the cup and celebrating by partying and hookups. He has shown no desire to settle down like his friends. But one day when running by her bookstore, he sees a woman that captures his eye.
Clarke Webber is beautiful, smart, bookish, and kind of a nerd. She is happy hiding out in her bookstore. She has been hurt in the past, has major insecurities and trust issues, and likes to stay out of social media and the spotlight. She has no idea why a charming and handsome jock type seems to be interested in her, but he manages to make a deal to spend time with her at least temporarily. But finding out who he really is might be the one thing that could send her running the other way.
I really loved both Aaron and Clarke. They seemed like opposites but were both afraid of attachments and rejection. Their lifestyles seemed like they would totally conflict. Aaron finds himself actually invested for the first time and Clarke has to figure out if she can truly believe him. I enjoyed their vulnerability together and easygoing rapport. I could really feel their connection and their relationship was just a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed seeing more of the heart of the real Aaron come out versus Wylde the popular hockey player. He is so patient, caring, protective, accepting, and decisive. But I could understand Clarke’s fears and insecurities as well.
It is an engaging and heartfelt, opposites-attract, insta-connection, but slow-burn romance. This also seemed like an extended epilogue for the series with so much love and emotion with the other couples that my heart was bursting. The friendships and camaraderie between the players and their significant others are the heart of this series. I am glad there is more coming with Kane, Steele, and now I hope for more with Baden as well.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
As part of the Vengeance hockey team, Aaron Wylde has a reputation that lives up to his last name. His “player” status has helped him deal with the fans and his celebrity status. But it is not until he sees a nerdy but beautiful woman in the window of a book store does everything that he once fell back on become not so important in his life. Can Clarke see the true person in Aaron and not the player known as Wylde? Can a man find true love in a bookstore? Sawyer Bennett once again dazzles the reader with another installment of the Vengeance Hockey Series. Each and every book brings the players to human status and with finding their own true love only brings the team closer together. I have fallen in love with the entire team but at this point I think my love for Aaron Wylde has the highest vote. I cannot wait for more in the series.
You would think that a notorious playboy wouldn’t have a clue on how to be romantic and gentle. That he wouldn’t know how to make a woman truly feel special. Or that he wouldn’t know how to navigate an honest relationship based on very good communication. But Aaron Wylde could teach a course on it. I loved that he doesn’t have it easy from the very beginning with Clarke do to some issues and insecurities. But I I also loved reading that he can validate what she is feeling, that he can ask for help without shame and that he doesn’t panic with the unknown. He is definitely not a runner and not allergic to feelings. THAT, is a strong man. Exactly the one Clarke needs.
He simply shines in this story. And Sawyer Bennett did a fantastic job of showing the strong union the team has. Plus how well of and addition their wives are and how helpful everyone is in moments of despair. And although some events are sad, this book definitely has me intrigued for the next one of the series.
What happens when Wylde, the playboy sees Clarke, the smart, sassy, quirky redhead who wants no part of him???? Challenge accepted, game on and they both have to wade thru minefields but what a beautiful love story with all of the feels. Loved it
Aaron Wylde is the playboy of the team. With all his teammates pairing up or getting married, he is happy being single. Besides he doesn’t have trouble getting a date. He is used to the attention his job brings and he enjoys every minute of it.
Clarke Webber owns a bookstore and shy’s away from the limelight. She has been burned by it before and doesn’t seek it out. When the good-looking man walks into her store looking for a wedding gift, she automatically sees him as a wannabe jock, he has the jock complex down anyway.
While Aaron stumbles trying to ask Clarke out, she tries to get him out of her store. What will she do when she realizes who he is? What will Aaron do when he learns about her fears? Can they work around his celebrity to be together? Will Clarke be the end of Aaron’s wild ways?
I loved this story but not as much as most others. It was filled with pain from both Clarke and Aaron’s past, a connection between them that could not be denied, and love to last forever. And there is so much going on with Aaron’s teammates that you will be laughing and crying. Author Sawyer Bennett has figured out how to write the perfect hockey teammates and the women who love them. If you haven’t read this author yet, you should. I recommend any of her books.
**Copy provided by the author and this is my honest review**
I love watching the big guys fall in love! Wylde has always been known as the player of the team, hence the team calling him by his last name. When he spots Clarke in her bookstore, he can’t seem to stay away. It was so great how he got her to go out with him. Clarke had something awful happen to her in the past that makes her want to stay away from rich, high profile men. Wylde is so taken with Clarke that he has the patience of Job to show her that he is a good guy and would never do anything to hurt her. It is so easy for everyone around them on the team to see how good they are together. All the wives on the team are such good people and make her feel comfortable. I loved watching them grow closer and going through their ups and downs. I strongly encourage you to read the book. You can never go wrong with a book written by Sawyer Bennett! I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
I just love seeing a bed hopping playboy fall. And I could not get enough of the way it happened to Aaron Wylde. Clarke made him work for it and work for it he did! So much swooning was done while reading this.
This many books into a series you would think every scenario would have been played out. But each plot and every character is different and intriguing. It was great catching up with the previous characters. Plus getting a glimpse of what’s to come and I can’t wait for it!
