There’s a reason they call me Wylde and it’s not just because it’s my last name. I might be one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team, but I’m no stranger to the celebrity that goes along with being a professional hockey player. Whether it’s a fan seeking an autograph or a puck bunny looking for more, I’ve grown used to the attention. I not only thrive on it; I use it to my … thrive on it; I use it to my advantage. Let’s just say my bed is rarely empty.
When a quirky redhead at the local bookstore stops me dead in my tracks, I decide to pop in and turn on the trusty Wylde magic. As smart and strong-willed as she is beautiful, Clarke Webber isn’t swayed by my witty banter or charming good looks. And when she realizes who I am and the fame that comes along with it, she likes me even less. Thankfully, I’m always up for a challenge. The more I get to know about her, the more I know my playboy days are behind me.
If I’m going to capture Clarke’s heart, it’s time to be a lot less Wylde, and a lot more Aaron.

Aaron Wylde, not so wild anymore! I absolutely loved this book. There is just something about a playboy falling so utterly and completely that gets to me. And I loved and felt for Clarke. Probably my favourite of the series so far
4.5 stars
Aaron Wylde is known as a player among players. He is rarely seen with the same woman twice, and has a reputation among his teammates as a partier. But he is also a loyal friend and great teammate, always quick to support his friends. He has watched his best friends deal with hardship in their lives and then fall in love. He is happy for his buddies, and glad he could lend a hand when possible, but he doesn’t see himself settling in to the same kind of relationship
Clarke Webber keeps her head down and her focus on her business. She was hurt by a brush with celebrity and Wylde’s status as a hockey player is a mark against him in her book. She tends to date men who are easy: quiet, safe, beta. When Aaron stops by after a run, she finds herself talked into a series of dates with him, a man completely different than anyone she’s said yes to in a long time.
These two couldn’t be more opposite in some ways, and in others are the perfect pair. Clarke takes a bit to warm up to, owing to her reluctance to be burned again, but as I started to understand her reasoning her characters settled in for me and I was rooting for Aaron hard.
Having seen the way Wylde reached out to Rafe, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him and know there was a loyal, steady man behind the playboy facade. He has his work cut out for him to keep Clarke, and I loved watching as they both decided what they needed in order to take a chance on a relationship.
It hasn’t been long since I’ve lived in the Vengeance world (though technically Rafe was a Cold Fury novel) this felt like returning to a favorite set of characters. I loved seeing the progression of my favorite Vengeance couples, while keeping the main focus on the developing romance between Wylde and Clarke.
There is nothing better than a meet cute but when it’s the most well know “Player” of the Arizona Vengeance it makes it even that much more fantastic. Aaron Wylde never thought meeting a woman would knock him off his feet but when he meets Clarke in the most unlikely of places he knows he’s in trouble when it comes to her.
Clarke Webber is a bookstore owner but also is a woman trying to overcome a horrible situation from her past but when she meets Aaron she decides taking a chance on him might be the best thing she has done in a long time.
Aaron & Clarke’s relationship starts off with a bet but as you watch the two of them throughout their story you can’t help feel they are healing each other and watching this relationship blossom is a heartwarming feeling you get with each and every page.
4.5 Wylde was cute, emotional, and surprising. I loved Aaron and Clarke’s meet cute; it was funny and cute. Clarke is distrustful and cautious when it comes to men and fame, which causes some problems when it comes to her relationship with Aaron. Aaron is a great guy and is perfect for Clarke. He understands her very well and knows what she needs. This makes them a great duo. There are a lot of cute and sweet moments throughout the book that put a smile on my face. The moments with the other couples were some of my favorites. There was a shocking twist along the way that I need more answers to asap! I really enjoyed the book and love this series, I can’t wait for more! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
Another incredible story by Miss Bennett, these books keep getting better and better, I loved that we get a glance at the lives of the other players too!
WYLDE, an opposites attract standalone hockey romance, is available now from New York Times Bestselling Author Sawyer Bennett! See what readers are saying about WYLDE:
* I absolutely adore Aaron Wylde
* This book spoke to my love of love
* A truly addictive hockey romance
* I didn’t want to stop reading once I started
Wild about Wylde!
“She’s like a breath of fresh air and this perplexes me, because I’ve never been overly attracted to her type before.”
Aaron Wylde is THE player of the Arizona Vengence. He’s happy to have a different woman every night and has no desire to settle down like so many of his good friends. When he spots a beautiful redhead in a shop window, he can’t help himself from trying to score a date with her. However, he soon realises that he’s got his work cut out for him.
“Something about this man has danger bells ringing faintly in the background…he has complication written all over him.”
Clarke Webber knows a hot man when she sees one. She also recognises a cocky playboy when she sees one, too. When Aaron tricks her into being his date not just for one wedding but two, she resigns herself to the two dates and then plans to never see him again. However, his charm and patience has her seeing him again and again. Unfortunately, his career and lifestyle are something she has to come to terms with if she wants to be with him, but has she been too badly burnt in the past to overcome her fears?
“I’m going to rock her f*cking world so hard she’s going to be ruined for any other man for the rest of her life.”
I thoroughly enjoyed Aaron and Clarke’s story. I loved how Clarke captured his attention, and Aaron’s patience and determination to win her over. I loved that she interested him in other ways and not just on a physical level. Aaron has a big heart and I adored that he wanted to spoil her and protect her from hurt or embarrassment. Clarke is skittish and mistrustful but I enjoyed watching her yield to Aaron as he slowly chipped away at her defences. The whole story was a delight as we saw them with the Vengence guys and felt the camaderie between them all, as well as the sisterhood between their womenfolk. Such a great read!
Wow, Wylde will make you swoon and fall for him! 5 hockey pucks for this one! Grab it asap!
Wylde is out for a jog one morning, when he passes by a bookstore and notices the beautiful girl behind the counter, Clarke, wow she’s gorgeous. He makes himself turn around and go into the store where he decides he needs gifts for the weddings he’s attending in the next few weeks, well not really but he doesn’t want this meeting to end. He wants to take her to the weddings, so he asks her to pick a quote from any book and he’ll answer it. She has no clue of his background and agree’s and off starts their relationship! These two will have you falling in love with them. Sawyer, just when I think you can’t create another hockey player that I will fall in love with you prove me wrong! Thank you!
I never seem to get enough of Sawyers books!! Each with their unique situations! Wylde was just as touching and exciting! Passionate , loving, patients and understanding! The Arizona Vengeance reunites, bringing Clarke into the mix of things! Another amazing story that will leave you happy, sated, and swooned!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved Clarke and Aaron’s story. I love reformed playboy stories. Aaron had way more depth then you would of thought. Clarke had very embarrassing past and is not looking to get involved after being hurt in her past. The chemistry is there and I love the friendships between the team. I loved their relationship. No we await the next one. I love this series!!!
This series just keeps getting better and better and I am officially claiming Aaron Wylde as my new book boyfriend. I positively adored Aaron as he was charming, kindhearted, and swoon worthy. This endearing hockey player was living up to his name as a playboy until he meets Clarke, a bookstore owner. As much as Aaron is enamored with Clarke, she is a bit more hesitant. She is mistrustful of men and when you find out why, it is like a punch to the gut. Their first encounter with each other is entertaining and I really enjoyed witnessing how their relationship evolved. True to this author’s other works, Wylde is a well written novel with likable, well developed characters and an engaging storyline. The books moves a good pace and I loved getting caught up with all of the other couples from the previous books. Wylde is the 7th installment in this author’s Arizona Vengeance series, but it can be read as a standalone. However, I do recommend the previous books because they are just that good and because there is character overlap. If you are looking for a sweet and sexy hockey sports romance, then you will love this book!
I love the Arizona Vengeance series and ever since Wylde was first introduced in Tacker’s story I have been waiting to learn more about him. Aaron Wylde is a playboy. Despite his ways, there is so much more to him and it shows in this book.
It was insta-attraction the moment he saw Clarke in her bookstore. I LOVED LOVED LOVED their meet cute. I think I was just as surprised as Clarke when Wylde was spewing all his knowledge. There was attraction for Clarke, too, however, because of her past she was a little more hesitant when it came to Wylde once she found out who he was. I loved the chemistry between them, though. She brought at a different side of him out.
The Vengeance have just won the championship and there is a variety of weddings happening in the off season, so expect loads of group scenes that will have you laughing and swooning. I love this entire crew. Clarke instantly connected with the rest of the woman in the group.
Wylde is a MUST READ and I can’t wait to see what is coming up next for the Vengeance crew.
** Edited to add audiobook thoughts **
Aaron Wylde is so much more than the funny, playboy hockey player we met in previous books. He is smart, playful, protective and loyal and is everything I want in my heroes! Being apart of a championship team, he has enjoyed his perks. But now there is a beautiful, unassuming book store owner who captivates him and who doesn’t fall at his feet. Clarke has been hurt before and keeps him at a distance, especially since her pain is more public than she wants to relive. Wylde is determined to prove he is more than a dumb jock, and make her trust that he will defend, protect, and never let her down. He is so sweet as he pursues her, trying to win her over. It is fun catching up with past couples that we love, and watch them make Clarke feel safe, included, and loved too. But Wylde has a past that holds him hostage and when Clarke’s past catches up to her, will they be strong enough to trust each other, or will it all be too much? I really fell for both Wylde and Clarke and cheered hard for their HEA. I also loved the bond these sexy hockey players have, and their scenes together were so much fun. They give each other a hard time but they also support each other unconditionally.
I loved Teddy Hamilton, and CJ Bloom’s narration! They flawlessly nailed these characters so perfectly, making them their own. I was completely lost in their performance as they made me feel all the different emotions both Wylde and Clarke felt.
This is a fun, sexy and passionate story and I can’t get enough of these sexy hockey players and the women who challenge and love them!
I absolutely loved Aaron and Clarke’s story! Aaron is bold confident. Clarke is cautious and reserved. There’s something about her that catches Aaron’s eye. She might be just the thing to keep him from being Wylde. 5 stars all the way!
This book was swoony with the capital S.
OMG Aaron is my new book-boyfriend. He is probably my favorite character in all the SB books I’ve read so far and if you’ve read her work you know that’s saying something.
I loved his easy-going spirit and his determination regarding Clarke. She was perfect for him. She was quite, a bit shy but had a huge heart. The slow burn was killing me and I applaud her for resisting for so long but I’m sure this story wouldn’t be as good if she’d fallen for his charms right away. The meet- cute was hilarious and the story kept on delivering. Absolutely amazing book!!!

4.5 stars
I don’t know how Sawyer Bennett keeps writing men that constantly one up the previous book in the series, but Aaron Wylde is amazing!! Dominik still sits at the top of the list right now but Wylde is a close second.
Wylde has certainly done his best to live up to his name since entering the league, and he is known as THE player of the Vengeance. But we quickly learn there is lot more to this man than his well deserved reputation. No one has really intrigued him enough to distract him or make him rethink his lifestyle until he makes a spur of the moment decision to meet a beautiful woman he glimpses through the window of a bookstore as he is out for a run.
Clarke had a very unwelcome 15 minutes of fame a few years ago, and she is still more than a little gun shy when it comes to good looking guys who seem too good to be true. She has finally realized her dream of opening a little independent bookstore and enjoys her days there… even if her best friend Veronica is right when she tells Clarke to stop living in the shadows where it is “safe” and take a chance on life again. The gorgeous male specimen in running attire who just entered her shop is definitely setting off danger signals but she can’t help engaging just a little bit. When he proposes a bet that will result in her being his date to two upcoming weddings, she is certain she will win until he shocks her with his knowledge. But she begrudgingly keeps up her end of the bargain at Veronica’s urging, and life as Clarke knows it is about to change.
Aaron Wylde is well read, a romantic at heart or by instinct, protective and caring, funny and warm, and most of all determined to convince this woman to take a chance on getting to know him better. Clarke has been humiliated at the hands of a celebrity before so she wants to run screaming when she realizes Aaron is a professional athlete. In her mind celebrity= pain. For the past few years, she has been getting by dating the safe ones who won’t make her care enough to really feel much one way or the other. With every effortlessly casual remark or action that bolsters her self-confidence, she realizes that she is starting to trust Aaron more and more though and that is the scariest prospect she has had in a long time.
As Tacker’s best friend, we got a glimpse of Aaron big heart, then even more so in Rafe’s story as he helped his former teammate navigate some emotional turmoil. Despite the fact he grew up in a home where love was not a freely given commodity, Aaron has amazing instincts and those years being Wylde have certainly ensured that Clarke will be a lucky woman!
Wylde and Clarke are set to slow burn for a good part of the story but it dials up to combustion once she is ready to face the fact that Aaron is nothing like the person who hurt her so badly in the past. She rekindles his love of reading while opening his heart, but she also has the power to break it if she can’t let go of the past entirely and I have to admit to a few moments where I really did not like her all that much. Another reason this story endeared itself to me so much were the many beautiful moments with his teammates and their significant others that were showcased throughout the book even as we get to know a few of the other newer team members. I am definitely still savoring Wylde but I am looking forward to more from this series at the same time!
Wylde has taken the top spot.
So in all honesty, I am a huge fan of this series, in looking back – most have been 5 stars and I thought Dax was my favorite player. But as soon as Wylde joined the team, I thought he might take the top spot and boy did he ever in this one!!
Wylde happens upon Clarke’s bookstore (so already you know this is going to be right up my alley) and charms his way to not one, but two wedding dates. I won’t tell you how because their banter was SO MUCH FUN!!
Clarke is unlike any of the women he normally dates…which you knows means it’s real. However, Clarke has been burned badly by dating a celebrity before – in a rather despicable fashion – so Wylde is fighting an uphill battle.
“It’s a pleasure watching someone like Wylde fall for the first – and hopefully last – time.” Amen!!
Clarke almost blows it for a short while, but you know these two belong together and Wylde is so much more than you expect!
And I’m saving the best for last – as the weddings and storylines that come together in this one – so much love. If you are a fan of this series – DO NOT MISS WYLDE!! It really brings several of the couples’ stories to a great climax!! Love, LOVE, LOVED this story SO HARD!!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
***4 Stars***
I get all kinds of excited whenever a new AS book is about to be released. Sometimes it’s because of who the MC of the book is about (Tacker is still kind of everything), sometimes it’s simply about getting to hang out and catch up with the characters I’ve come to love, and sometimes it’s a mix of both. This time it was a mix of both. I was all in when I saw that the woman who was going to bring Wylde to his knees owned a bookstore and knowing who his BFF was, I also knew I’d probably get a good dose of my fav AS player. And I have to say, I enjoyed this addition to the series. There were some great heartstring pulling moments, as well as fun and smexy ones that kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and left me excited for the next book in the series.
I really liked Wylde and Clarke. Wylde is charming and has a confidence about him that draws you in. Clarke is sweet, sassy and unassuming in a way that makes it easy to like her. They both have situations from their past that have affected the way they look at not only themselves, but just what they want when it comes to a relationship, so when they collided ~ things definitely weren’t totally smooth sailing. But what was clear was once they let down their respective walls they flowed really well together. I’ll admit that even though I liked them both, they did frustrate me in equal measure, so when the big sinkhole dropped ~ one that wasn’t a total surprise ~ I didn’t favor one over the other. Both were right and wrong at the same time, so it was just waiting to see how it would play out and though I was happy they got back together, it felt rushed. I didn’t necessarily need a lot of groveling or a true grand gesture, but I felt like they really needed to talk things out more. But that’s just me.
As I said at the start, much of my enjoyment of this series is because of the cast of characters that inhabit it and getting to catch up with them every time a new book comes out. Tacker and Nora are still my hands down favs, but I loved seeing how much of a family they all become and while one situation hurt my heart and has me wondering where that storyline will take us, I’m totally looking forward to both Kane and Steele’s books and seeing them get their own HEA’s.

5 star Review Wylde (Arizona Vengeance #7) by Sawyer Bennett
From the first to the last chapter I was riveted to the story that Sawyer Bennett wove and couldn’t put it down. This is Clarke Webber and Aaron Wylde’s story and I was captivated from the first to the last chapter.
I was a little put off by Wylde at first, he seemed a little too conceited, too arrogant and I loved that Clarke was not impressed by who he was, or who he played for. Of course the fact that she is not impressed by his fame just makes her more of a challenge and he is almost blind sided when he realises that he wants more than just a good time with Clarke and will do what ever it takes to get her to see that he is willing to change his playboy ways.
Typical of Sawyer Bennett, she soon had me loving Wylde and hoping that he would be able to convince Clarke to take a chance on him. The chemistry between them is off the charts and I loved the banter and humour that flowed between the. There is so much more to their relationship than just physically and I found many swoon worthy moments as I read their story.
As always, it was great to catch up on the other couples of the Arizona Vengeance, I love getting updates on what is happening in their lives. Each time I read a new book in this series, an entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Would you believe it if the player met his match? Wylde’s book is absolutely amazing! Fantastic banter and friendships and just some beautiful words penned by the author!
Aaron Wylde is charming, kind and caring to those close to him, however stumbling upon Clarke could be the best thing he has done besides hockey!
Clarke is a shy, book nerd and I loved everything about her and could see myself being her friend! She has lost her trust in men and although Aaron woos her, can she get over what happened in the past and look forward to the future! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and its an incredible addition to an amazing series! Wylde will send you on a wild ride!
Love and friendship can conquer all, or can it?? Can Aaron prove himself worthy? Go grab it for yourself to find out!!!
Wylde will definitely send you on a wild ride!
