There’s a reason they call me Wylde and it’s not just because it’s my last name. I might be one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team, but I’m no stranger to the celebrity that goes along with being a professional hockey player. Whether it’s a fan seeking an autograph or a puck bunny looking for more, I’ve grown used to the attention. I not only thrive on it; I use it to my … thrive on it; I use it to my advantage. Let’s just say my bed is rarely empty.
When a quirky redhead at the local bookstore stops me dead in my tracks, I decide to pop in and turn on the trusty Wylde magic. As smart and strong-willed as she is beautiful, Clarke Webber isn’t swayed by my witty banter or charming good looks. And when she realizes who I am and the fame that comes along with it, she likes me even less. Thankfully, I’m always up for a challenge. The more I get to know about her, the more I know my playboy days are behind me.
If I’m going to capture Clarke’s heart, it’s time to be a lot less Wylde, and a lot more Aaron.

Another great romance from Sawyer Bennett. My favorite part of this book was the lack of unnecessary drama. It features a heroine with trust issues that felt very realistic and played out in a way that was very relatable. I loved seeing Wylde’s true character in this book and all the fun Vengeance updates!
Wylde was such a meet cute story and I just loved how Aaron and Clarke met. I especially loved that Clarke had some preconceptions about Aaron, and he totally got her because of that.
Instead of a more usual way to a woman’s heart, Aaron decided to bring Clarke as his date to two of his friends’ weddings. And it was fun. It was cute. It was also a great way for them to get to know each other without being too close for comfort.
Audio review update:
Sawyer Bennett has done it again!!! Wylde is the 7th book in Ms. Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series and has become one of my favorites. When I read the blurb for this book, I could not wait for it to hit my Kindle, and boy, was I correct about is being great!!!
Clarke Webber and Aaron Wylde, WOW, just wow! They are absolutely perfect for each other.
I just loved Clarke, she is ‘real’, not a made-up puck bunny, which is Wylde’s usual choice in women. I saw her as a strong but vulnerable woman, who had been hurt by a real ashwipe. OH, LORD, vengeance is SWEET. Sorry Ladies, I will not give anything away, but man, did Aaron make him pay!! I loved watching Aaron gain Clarke’s trust in man, and trust in herself.
I really enjoyed seeing the characters from previous stories, and really look forward to seeing more from newish characters from this book, especially, Baden. My heart is in my throat for him.
OMG, the performance of Teddy Hamilton, and CJ Bloom the narrators of this phenomenal book… WOW!! I have definitely found 2 new narrators to love!! I am definitely going to have to go search books out from these two. They absolutely brought this story to life in my mind as I was listening. Bravo
I was gifted with a copy of this book for my listening enjoyment and for my opinion of the book/story. What I really love about Ms. Bennett’s talents as a writer/storyteller, is that I know without a doubt that when reading or listening to one of her books, I can escape into a world of relaxation. Especially in the current times.
Thank you for reading my review. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I have, so what are you waiting for? Hit that purchase button and enjoy a great story.
I really enjoyed this book, though at times Clarke really got on my nerves. But I love watching the non-relationship type fall hard like Aaron did. This was a great book and we got to see so many of the other players and their other halves. You all also learn a few lessons in this book, such as don’t judge a book by its cover. I can’t wait for the next one.
Another Arizona avengeance book has me like arghh. This story was so good
4.75 Stars!!
Wylde (An Arizona Vengeance novel) by Sawyer Bennett is a fabulous and delightful read, with a sexy hero who falls in love at first sight with a beautiful and humble bookstore owner. Wylde and Clark’s journey is addictive, emotional, funny, entertaining and captivating.
For me, this is one of the best stories in the Arizona Vengeance Series, that can be read as standalone. The story is well-developed, and different from other books I have read before, and it feels so freaking real when you’re listening to the audiobook.
Narrators Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom did a brilliant and fabulous performance, and I loved listening to every word they had to say. Is always refreshing to hear different talented narrators when it comes to different stories in a series. However, author Sawyer Bennett always manage to deliver high quality when it comes to the perfomance to her amazing stories.
If you haven’t start this fabulous series, this will be a great start, I know after you finish reading/listening you’ll be getting all previous installments.
Another amazing story in the Arizona Vengeance series!! This story was fun, sexy and sweet all rolled up in one Wylde package. Clark and Aaron are wonderful together and a great opposites attract couple. This book as a nice quick pace and trust me when I say you won’t want to put it down. I definitely recommend this one as well as the entire series to everyone.
Continuing to love the Arizona Vengeance team and their journeys to love! Aaron, also known by his last name Wylde, is one of the newest members of the Vengeance team, but has already shown his character in previous books through his friendship and recognition between the players. Starting to get bored of the playboy life, he starts to yearn something more substantial, and while out for a run one day stumbles upon Clarke’s bookstore. After a bad experience with a relationship in the public eye, Clarke focuses on staying out of the limelight and in the background. But when Aaron walks into her bookstore, everything changes. Determined to wear Clarke down, especially after she doesn’t recognize him, he swindles her into their first date, and then continues until she becomes agreeable to dating. But when Clarke is thrust into the limelight again thanks to her new boyfriend and she can’t handle it because of what happened in the past. I loved both of these characters and the complexity they have – they are much more than their appearance and it’s what really made the characters more enjoyable than the average romance story. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment in this series after the explosive foreshadowing in this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I’ve been looking forward to Aaron Wylde’s story since I read Tacker. Aaron Wylde is a known playboy. He has no problem hooking up with whoever, whenever no commitments. That is until he comes across a bookstore one day and meets Clarke Webber. He is instantly attracted to her, but she isn’t so sure about him. I loved how he was so interested in her, but she made him work for it. He was use to puck bunnies falling at his feet. I also enjoyed seeing some of my “old friends” from previous books. Wylde was a fantastic addition to the Vengeance series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
5 Stars
Wylde by Sawyer Bennett is the seventh book in the Arizona Vengeance series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I do suggest reading the others in the series as well.
You guys-this book was INCREDIBLE! Aaron Wylde was so completely unexpected-in the best way possible. I fell in love with him from the very first page. We knew he was a playboy, but underneath, the man was complete perfection. Soft in all the ways that mattered but so alpha too. Clarke was his match in every single way. She wasn’t his normal type and I loved that. Together, their chemistry was off the charts hot. I seriously loved them together. They honestly were such fantastic characters.
Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. Bennet proves time and time again what a skilled writer she is. I highly recommend reading this book!
4 Stars!
Aaron Wylde is a well known professional athlete who recently moved to Phoenix, and joined the new expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance as a first line defenseman. They just won the Cup championship, and are finally getting a little down time over the summer. Aaron is passionate about his career, but also has a reputation as a ladies man. There’s a reason why everyone refers to him as Wylde instead of his first name. He’s the league’s most notorious playboy, and considered the leader of the single guys. He doesn’t date or form attachments, but has a few really close friends that are like family.
When he crosses paths with a nerdy, beautiful redhead at a bookstore, he’s completely captivated. She’s intriguing, and he wants to get to know her better. He quickly learns he’s met his match. She’s a challenge, and his usual ways clearly aren’t going to work with this woman. She’s caught his eye, and he’s attracted to her, but it’s more than that. He really likes her, and his behavior is suddenly uncharacteristic. Being with her has opened something up within him, and he’s determined to win her over.
Clarke Webber doesn’t trust easily from past experiences. Following her heart hadn’t always turned out great for her, so she now guards it. She meets hockey star Aaron Wylde, and he’s charming, funny, and extremely persistent. He’s the best looking guy she’s ever seen, but he has complicated written all over him. He’s famous, and she wants no part of him, but this gorgeous man seems genuinely interested in her, and wants a real chance with her. When their connection grows deeper, will she take a risk on love?
Wylde (An Arizona Vengeance novel) by Sawyer Bennett is a fantastic, standalone sports romance with a sinfully sexy hero who falls hard for a quirky, local beauty. It’s an addictive story about true love, and following your heart.
Aaron Wylde, aka Wylde, is known for his playboy ways. Known as the Arizona Vengeance’s ultimate player, he has his choice of puck bunnies with the crook of his finger. Even though all of his closest teammates have found their HEA’s, Wylde vows monogamy is NOT for him. While out on his daily run, Wylde passes by a quaint bookstore. As soon as he spots a redhead behind the counter, he knows he has to have a better look. So, he circles back around for a second glimpse. Only he doesn’t immediately see her. So, he steps into the store in search of the redhead beauty.
Clarke Webber is perfectly happy running her bookstore. All she wants is peace and quiet after her highly publicized debacle . When a “jock” walks in the store to flirt with her, she tries to blow him off, but he doesn’t seem to get the message—even asking her to accompany him to Erik and Blue’s wedding. Thinking he can’t be all that intelligent, since he’s a jock, she makes a bet. Only he’s smarter than she thinks, so she doubles down knowing he can’t possibly be that smart…She was wrong! Can what starts off as a bet turn into more?
BEST book yet! It struck home with me as I consider myself the “nerdy, curvy” type that a professional athlete or hottie couldn’t possibly find attractive. It’s the ultimate meet-cute, opposites attract, Prince Charming tale. I absolutely LOVED Wylde and Clarke together!!! I fell out of my chair when he out smarted her. Clarke’s insecurities were valid, but also projected onto Wylde unfairly. Wylde, having practically raised himself, didn’t really have good relationship role models growing up. I loved Wylde’s interactions with Tacker and Nora. I also enjoyed the tie in to Rafe’s story and how Wylde helped Rafe with his dad’s illness/death. The numerous wedding “dates” were also enjoyable as a means to catch up with the team. Lastly, although this novel was based in the off-season, it had plenty of action and a little bit of revenge/suspense. Highly enjoyable and entertaining! I can’t wait for the next story! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
OMG I am once again head over heels with a Sawyer book. She always writes a story that I can’t put down. I’m heartbroken when it’s over because I have to wait for the next one! I’ll always drop everything to read whatever she writes next. Seriously one of my favorites!
Wylde was such a cute, romantic, fun book and I absolutely loved it. Wylde was out running when a woman in a book store caught his eye. He decided to stop and introduce himself to her. There he meets the owner, Clarke, and woman who challenges him a disheveled ends up being his date to a few of his teammates weddings. I loved seeing these two get closer and the issues they each have. Clarke is weary of famous people and Wylde has always been a playboy, never wanting to settle down. I loved watching them fall in love and the friendship they have with the other Arizona Vengeance teammates and their wives and girlfriends. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Awesome meet-cute to start! Aaron & Clarke have a beginning that is retold repeatedly with lasting impact! They were both likeable and endearing characters that weave into the Arizona Vengeance story. I enjoyed revisiting the other couples from the Vengeance and Wylde allowed everyone to develop further. I can’t wait to read more!
Hey Wylde, your up next! I have been looking forward to Wyllde’s book since we first got to know him as Tacker’s best friend. And this book was perfect! The meet cute is great, and it one of my favorite tropes. Sawyer did it perfectly to. Die hard single hockey player falls hard after seeing a woman in a bookstore. And he has to work at winning her over. I love when the tough single guy falls and falls hard but the hea doesn’t come easy! Clarke owns the bookstore and is very wary of Wylde in the beginning. As you read in you find out why she’s so standoffish and you warm to her. She’s perfect for Wylde and it’s fun to sit back and experience him get his HEA.
4.5stars–WYLDE is the seventh full-length instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult ARIZONA VENGEANCE erotic, hockey romance series focusing on the members of the Arizona Vengeance professional hockey team. This is Arizona Vengeance team members Aaron Wylde, and book store owner Clarke Webber’s story line. WYLDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Wylde and Clarke) WYLDE follows the building relationship between Arizona Vengeance team members Aaron Wylde, and book store owner Clarke Webber. Aaron Wylde is known as the ‘player’ on the Arizona Vengeance but meeting book store owner Clarke Webber stops our hero in his tracks. Clarke Webber is hiding a secret that threatens any potential future with Aaron Wylde-Clarke doesn’t do relationships especially relationships with celebrities and heroes, and in this Clarke refuses to step back into the public eye. What ensues is the slow building romance and relationship between Clarke and Wylde, and the potential fall-out as the media threatens to destroy any chance at happiness for our leading couple.
Aaron Wylde is Arizona Vengeance’s Tacker Hall’s best friend, and Aaron has watched his friend struggle with demons from the past. Knowing something is fueling Clarke Webber’s refusal to date a celebrity, Aaron bides his time as he slowly seduces the woman with whom he will fall in love. Clarke Webber has been hurt in the past; destroyed by betrayal and the ensuing media frenzy, Clarke refuses to place herself in the direct line of fire but dating a member of the Arizona Vengeance comes with the potential, for just that.
The relationship between Wylde and Clarke is one of immediate attraction but Clarke had no idea as to the who and why of Aaron Wylde. Following Clarke’s quick rejection of our story line hero, Wylde begins a slow seduction that will ultimately end when the media attacks the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples. We are introduced to Clarke’s co-worker and best friend Veronica, players Jett Olsson, Kane Bellan, James Steele, as well as rookies Vance Gather, Trace LaForge, and backup goalie Baden Outlett. Kane’s story is next.
WYLDE is a story of family, friendships, betrayal and revenge. A story of love and laughter, and second chances of a sort for one woman who’s self esteem was destroyed by celebrity and fame. The premise is imaginative and inviting; the romance is flirty and seductive; the characters are spirited and inspiring.
I love this book. Aaron Wylde, who lives up to his nickname Wylde, is sort of at loose ends after the Arizona Vengeance wins the Stanley Cup. He’s out jogging and he passes a little bookstore with a nerdy but cute woman behind the counter. He’s intrigued so he goes inside. Store owner Clarke is not so intrigued. At a glance she sizes him up as an affluent jock and just the type she despises. An incident in her past has made her very wary of this type. However, when Aaron sort of tricks her into being his date at two weddings, Clarke goes along. Thus begins a fun romance.
I really enjoyed the interplay between these two both in terms of snarky comments and sexual tension. Aaron quickly realizes he needs to be Aaron and not Wylde if he’s going to get anywhere with Clarke. Clarke is prickly, but she sees the good side of him and enjoys being around him. When they both reveal how their past lives have affected them it gives them a bond. However, Aaron has been able to move on but Clarke still carries deep scars from her experience. At times, she seems unreasonable and make some bad decisions, but this is a romance and that is to be expected. It also makes it extra spicy when they finally get it together.
Besides these two great characters, I enjoyed all of the glimpses of the lives of the Vengeance players and their significant others. Big things happen in this book. I can’t wait for the next one!
Sawyer Bennett has a new opposites-attract standalone hockey romance! Wylde is available now, and here’s what readers are saying:
* I absolutely adore Aaron Wylde
* This book spoke to my love of love
* A truly addictive hockey romance
* I didn’t want to stop reading once I started
Sawyer writes another great love story. Who knew hockey could be so romantic. Aaron Wylde is the player on the team and I don’t mean the number one position. No, Aaron is a player when it comes to the ladies. Why stay with one when you can have so many more. When you grow up in a home where love isn’t shown it is hard to become the man you were meant to be. One day Aaron is working out when he runs by a bookstore and notices a beautiful lady there. What’s a player to do than to stop and say hi. That woman is Clarke. After having a brief conversation with her he decides he wants no needs to get to know her better. What better way that to invite her to two of his teammates weddings. There lies the problem. Clarke has no idea Aaron is a famous hockey player and when she learns this she shuts whatever they have going on down. Clarke tells Aaron why it will never work out. She had a brush with unwanted fame and is not looking to get touched by it again. Aaron sets out to win her heart. The rest they say is history.
