There’s a reason they call me Wylde and it’s not just because it’s my last name. I might be one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team, but I’m no stranger to the celebrity that goes along with being a professional hockey player. Whether it’s a fan seeking an autograph or a puck bunny looking for more, I’ve grown used to the attention. I not only thrive on it; I use it to my … thrive on it; I use it to my advantage. Let’s just say my bed is rarely empty.
When a quirky redhead at the local bookstore stops me dead in my tracks, I decide to pop in and turn on the trusty Wylde magic. As smart and strong-willed as she is beautiful, Clarke Webber isn’t swayed by my witty banter or charming good looks. And when she realizes who I am and the fame that comes along with it, she likes me even less. Thankfully, I’m always up for a challenge. The more I get to know about her, the more I know my playboy days are behind me.
If I’m going to capture Clarke’s heart, it’s time to be a lot less Wylde, and a lot more Aaron.

Audio Review: Wylde (Arizona Vengeance #7) by Sawyer Bennett, Narrated by Teddy Hamilton, CJ Bloom
A smooth operator with an angel’s face and a bruised heart. Wylde is all of those things and more. Bennett continues to be as unpredictable as the characters that she writes. One minute, she goes full blast when it comes to naughty and the next she plays the strings of the heart like it’s her own personal violin. This time around Bennett gives emotions quite the work out with a little help from her friends. Through the eyes of heartache, Hamilton and Bloom tear down the masquerade and expose Erin and Clarke for the work in progress they are. Friendship, family and what looks a lot like love, makes for a temptation that is not to be missed.
Aaron Wylde is known by his last name…because of what it implies…he is wild and a bit of a manw*ore. Until he runs by a small bookstore and is enticed by its quiet owner. A bet about book quotes creates a date for Wylde to one of his teammate’s wedding…this ultimately leads to a relationship. However, relationships are difficult under any circumstance, throw in an embarrassing reality TV moment and puck bunnies, and Wylde and Clarke’s is very challenging. Can it last?
Another great story in the lives of the Arizona Vengeance hockey players. The camaraderie between the players and the wives is envious. Definitely recommend and placing in my re-listen collection!
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wylde (Arizona Vengeance #7) was a great read by Sawyer Bennet. Wylde is one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team. Wylde is used to being a celebrity but didn’t expect Clarke to no know who he is. They challenge each other and start to gain feelings. But Wylde knows that he can’t act like his nickname if he wants Clarke. He needs to act more like Aaron, the part of him not many know. I loved reading this book and I can’t wait to read more by Sawyer Bennett.
Clarke Webber captures Wylde’s attention and then grabs his heart. This couple made me swoon. Clarke’s self-esteem is not the best but Wylde only sees the beauty inside and out of Clarke. These two have their flaws but in usual Vengeance fashion, this hockey player will fight for what he wants. Another beautiful and intriguing story. We see past characters and future players coming up the ranks. I love this hockey family and their owner. I encourage you to start the series but if you cannot Wylde is a perfect one to jump into.
This book is totally swoon worthy from beginning to end, filled with great moments and wonderful characters!
Aaron is a Wylde man with a big heart! I just fell in love with his character right at the beginning. How can you not? When a sweet, sassy redhead has him totally off his flirting game from the start made me smile. But he shocked Clarke too when she tried to judge him but found out there was a lot more to Aaron Wylde than a good looking hot jock.
Clarke was easy to love too and it didn’t take long for these two to find easy conversation and feel that pull towards one another. Her past had dealt her a bad hand but will she let that baggage get in the way of something that could be so good?
If you are a hockey fan and love a good romance story than this book is for you!
I had the pleasure of listening to the audio version and the narrators did a phenomenal job and definitely added to my enjoyment of this story!
Who doesn’t love a reformed playboy? Add that he’s a hunky hockey player and you have a panty melting story. But then Sawyer Bennett weaves a fantastic story adding depth to her characters even secondary ones, adds passion and romance and you have a perfect sports romance.
Underneath all that exterior Aaron Wylde is swoon worthy. He’s sweet and has a heart of gold and just wants a woman to love him as Aaron and not Wylde the team player. He found that in Clark. Clark is a little apprehensive to famous men, being hurt before but Aaron burrows into her heart. These two were a perfect fit together and I loved watching their journey.
Sawyer knows how to write a story that will keep you entertained from the first to last page. She captivated me and pulled out all the feels. The Arizona Vengeance is one of my favorite series and I can’t wait for more of these men.
Wylde and Clarke’s story, like all the others in the Arizona Vengeance series so far, is amazing!
The story ends quite abruptly, but it does so neatly. Speaking of endings, in this book we get to see what’s going on with the other couples in the series! It’s like a long epilogue that ties in all the previous books in the series together. Clarke knew what she was talking about when she made a comment about every couple’s story being like a romance novel! Ha!
Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom were fantastic as Wylde and Clarke.
Wylde is a slow-burn, opposites attract contemporary sports romance written in dial first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It’s a standalone that ends with an HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
**4.5 Stars**
I would drop everything to read a Sawyer Bennett hockey book, no lie. I have read them all and they are amongst my favorite of her books. Wylde is known as being a ladies man and a fun guy, but one day he sees Clarke when he is out for a run while she is working in her bookstore, and he is immediately captivated by her. After winning a bet and convincing her to go to a couple of his teammate’s weddings with him, their relationship just seems to take on a life of its own.
Clarke has reservations about getting into a relationshi with Wylde due to a really bad dating experience that traumatized her, and because of Wylde’s very public life, she has fears that something similar could happen again. Wylde is extremely patient and understanding of Clarke’s concerns given her past expereince and I really loved the effort he put in to his relationship with Clarke and helping her to feel comfortable with him. He really had no qualms about putting his single life to rest and trying out a more committed lifestyle like the rest of his teammates.
I loved the glimpses this book offered into some of the other couples we have seen from the team as well as some of the surprises that were revealed!!! I cannot wait for some more hockey amazingness from Sawyer Bennett!!
I could not put this book down. Clarke and Aaron’s story was so good. How he got her to go out with him was wonderful and new. Getting to be invited to all of the wedding for all the other characters was so much fun. Sawyer Bennett has not disappointed and now I can’t wait for the next book and to see what Is going on with other players.
WYLDE, an opposites attract standalone hockey romance, is available now from New York Times Bestselling Author Sawyer Bennett! See what readers are saying about WYLDE:

* A truly addictive hockey romance
* I didn’t want to stop reading once I started
Sawyer Bennett is on Top of her writing game. In hockey terms she is on an incredible points streak. I did not want to put down this book. The book finished and I was disappointed that there was not more. I wanted more of Aaron, more of Clarke and even more of them together. I just want more of the Arizona Vengeances. This series just keeps getting better and better!

I am a huge fan of Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series, but Aaron Wylde might just have taken the cup as far as becoming my new fan favorite. I absolutely loved this book. I loved connecting with previous characters, falling for new ones and most of all hearing about how the team’s biggest play easily got taken off the market by the beautiful bookstore owner, Clarke.
Aaron Wylde is a notorious player both on and off the ice. I mean… it’s his last name. But he lived up to the rep and more than met the expectations. That is until he meets Clarke. She brings out more to Aaron that I ever thought possible. I absolutely loved her vulnerability, sexiness and confidence she grew as her relationship with Aaron developed.
I also loved how her preconceived notions about his fame came into play. Yes she had every right to keep her guard up but when he finally breaks through those walls, I couldn’t fall harder for a couple. They were sexy, sweet and called each other out when necessary. Their chemistry was through the roof and I devoured this story.
I seriously hope this series never ends because I absolutely love the intricate world Sawyer Bennet has created in this series. Somehow she manages to out do herself with each and every book and this book is no exception. I can’t wait to read more from her.
PS – The audio version of this book was phenomenal. Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom Brough Sawyer’s world to life. I can’t wait to listen to more from them in the future!
I absolutely love this series! Aaron Wylde, professional hockey player and the teams playboy. Clark Weber, book nerd and owner of Clark’s Corner bookstore. Clarke catches Aaron’s eye and he is instantly smitten with her. He decides to go into her shop pretending to buy a wedding gift for Erik & Blue’s upcoming wedding. As he struggles to keep the conversation going, he finally asks Clarke to attend Erik & Blue’s wedding which she declines. When he dares her, she decides to test him with a quote from a book. She thinks she has the upper hand, but little does she know, he knows literary quotes.
As their relationship builds, Clarke reveals her humiliating past to Aaron and how him being in the limelight might be a problem for her. When Aaron posts a picture of them together on social media, her past once again comes back to haunt her. Will she let her past ruin her relationship with Aaron or can she let it all go and finally get her HEA?
A fantastic audiobook! Wylde is a known player and so swoon worthy. Clarke has been burned before and is not impressed with his hockey player status. I really enjoyed Aaron having to work for her affection and combined with their chemistry makes for a steamy listen. Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom’s narration is fantastic! Another great addition to this series!
A notorious player and a sweet bookstore owner meet and both their lives change. Aaron and Clarke are amazingly beautiful together. They both find something they were not looking for but certainly know it’s what they needed. I absolutely loved all the weddings, getting a chance to take a peak at the other couples, and the family dynamic between the Arizona Vengeance players and their significant others. Sawyer Bennett never disappoints, I loved this story.
This is the seventh book in the Arizona Vengeance Series, a Sports Romance. I love this Series! I loved Wylde (Aaron) and Clarke’s story. Wylde is a hockey player, playboy, and handsome. Clarke is a lovely and smart woman. Their story is sweet and sexy. I love the brotherhood in this Series. You can read this book as a standalone, but I highly recommend you to listen to this amazing Series in order. You won’t regret it. Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom did a wonderful job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Kane.
Clarke Webber, runs a bookstore. She was humiliated by a man publicly and has no desire to pursue a relationship. She dates the safe ones, who never challenge her and she can easily walk away from.
Aaron Wylde, plays professional hockey, and is known as the head of the single guys playboy club for the team. He’s called Wylde, for a reason.
When Clarke, catches his eye, he can’t help but play her to secures a couple of dates with her. He is so intrigued by her. She’s like a breath of fresh air. She’s so different from all the other one night stands he’s had. He could have pretty much anyone, but he has his heart set on her.
Wyled, will do anything to win her heart, if only she could trust someone, who is in the spotlight, to not dredge up her past humiliation.
I love this series and love catching up with the past characters who are like family.
Wylde is just so good! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Wylde stumbles across a beautiful book shoppe owner and he is spell bound. This is what happens when a confirmed bachelor and playboy falls hard and has a love at first sight moment! This was so fun to watch! And their Meet Cute is everything!
Clarke is not so sure about this playboy! She knows nothing about hockey and he doesn’t seem to mind. They are super cute and are fire hot in bed!
There is several weddings of our Arizona Vengeance players…. SWOON FACTOR IS HIGH!
4.5 stars!
I am following a couple of series by Sawyer Bennett (she’s one of my all-time favorite authors) and the Arizona Vengeance series is my favorite. I love these group of characters we have grown to know and love in the past six books and Wylde is a special treat because it’s a “conclusion” of sorts for the previous couples. More on that later…
Wylde follows Aaron Wylde and Clarke Webber. One day while out on a run, Wylde came across a small shop and got a glimpse of pretty Clarke with her messy bun and glasses. She’s not his usual type of puck bunnies and glammed-up women, but he couldn’t stop thinking of her anyway. And after running around in circles, passing by the store every time, Wylde went in and introduced himself and somehow convinced Clarke to be his date to one of his teammate’s wedding. And the story goes off from there…
Yes, I recognize that Wylde is the bridge between the previous books in the series and the next set of “new” guys from the team who are going to have their own books in the near future. We met a few of them and I am definitely intrigued. Actually, I am more than intrigued–I am ecstatic and I can’t wait until I get my hands on those books.
I loved how Wylde courted Clarke, how he visited her store just to hang out with her, and took her to all those weddings. I liked how despite Clarke’s hang-up about dating a famous person, she couldn’t stay away. With that being said, Wylde and Clarke’s romance was sweet and I enjoyed them as a couple, but it’s not a new favorite of mine (btw, Erik and Dax are my top favorite books in the series)… it was a good romance because it’s Sawyer Bennett. I love her writing and I love pretty much all of her books and Wylde is no exception.
I did read this book solely via audiobook. Wylde’s parts were narrated by Teddy Hamilton, who is one of my top favorite male narrators. He’s perfect for Wylde and his voice is just *chef’s kiss* candy for my ears. CJ Bloom was the narrator for Clarke and she’s great too, but I personally think her voice is tad too perky for Clarke, who I pictured as someone more reserved. Maybe more like Erin Mallon’s voice? However, this duo brought the story to life and I was highly entertained.
If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, Wylde can be read as a standalone and it’s actually a good place to start because, like I said, it introduces the next men who are getting their own books in the series, and it gives you crash course on the previous books in the series so you’ll get all caught up. I do highly recommend you pick up the previous books in the series though because they’re amazing! This series is an auto-buy for me and I can’t wait for more!
Audiobook Review
Overall 4 stars
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 4 stars
I will admit that I was a little worried going into Wylde because of how much he supposedly lived up to his last name, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this book. Clarke was the perfect contrast to the life Aaron had been living and their meet cute (though fueled by lust on Aaron’s part) was surprisingly sweet. I loved seeing Aaron get taken down a peg and how patient and understanding he was to Clarke’s concerns and fears. There was a slowish burn to the evolution of their relationship that worked so well and had me rooting for these two to find their HEA. The reformed manwhore is probably my least favorite hero, but I ended up really loving Aaron. Yes, both characters overreact at times along the way and some of the drama felt over the top, but I could understand why they were reacting that way given their histories.
The book gave lots of wonderful updates on previous couples in the series (oh, Tacker and Nora *swoon*) and though this is technically a sports romance, the story itself takes place in the off season. Teddy Hamilton stole the show with his narration as Aaron and CJ Bloom was equally wonderful. Her comedic timing was perfect for Clarke’s inner monologue, and I really enjoyed this audiobook. I can’t wait for Kane’s story next!
