Jessica Simone has earned her nursing degree, and when she’s sent to a hospital in Nebraska, she feels the Lord had blessed her. Her fiancé who had been reported missing during the Civil War is alive and in the hospital. Although Wyatt’s face is bandaged, she doesn’t need to see him to know that he’s the man she loves. If only he would remember her…
A Nurse for Wyatt is am historic romance with mystery and intrigue. The characters are well developed. I did especially like Wyatt (patient with amnesia), Jessica (nurse) and Hugh (doctor). I do not want to give away anything so I will just say that my interest was grabbed immediately. There are some interesting happenings at the hospital. I could not put down this well paced, well developed romance.
Marie Higgins always is able to infuse new ideas into her books. Even though part of a series, this book can also standalone with a compelling story line, interesting characters, a mystery, romance and a happily ever after. I enjoyed this book with its surprise ending.
Another excellent addition to the Nursing the Heart series. With the expected twists and turns, I was engaged throughout this story. I couldn’t figure out which hero Jessica would end up with and I couldn’t decide which hero I wanted Jessica to end up with. Wonderful read!
Sweet Historical Romance
Lots of action, deceit, passion, secrets, healing, smuggling, and love fill this short story!
Jessica has just finished nursing school and is on her way to her assigned hospital.
when she arrives she is introduced to the hospital staff and patients. One patient she recognizes right off. He is amnesic and burned on the face and can’t remember who he is or why he is in this hospital for deserters.
Wyatt spends his days in total darkness and has no memory of who he is are where he is from.
The doctor Hugh is infatuated with Jessica, but she knows Wyatt is her long lost fiancé who doesn’t know her. Strange things are going on at the hospital. There is lots of drama, mystery and even murder in this story. I recommend it to all who like good clean books.
One more wonderful book in this series! Such a fantastic story of Jessica as she starts her first job as a nurse. She is assigned to the deserters ward at the hospital. There she finds her intended, Wyatt, but he does not know her. She met Hugh as she was moving into her boarding house and later found out he is one of the doctors at the hospital. There are some strange happenings at the hospital. Also, there was a surprise at the end! I loved this story!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
A wonderful series with nurses that trained with Clara Barton, which brings a wonderful element to the stories.
Jessica has gone through training to become a nurse and she had been assigned to a . But she is happy to be assigned to a new hospital in Vermont, much to her father’s idea of her just marry a wealthy man and live nearby.
Unfortunately female nurses were not as respected as they should be but it was her life’s ambition. She had found a nice boarding house to stay at near the hospital and even ran into a handsome man going in the same time as she! His name was Hugh and his mother was the cook.
When reporting into her first day on the job, she found out Hugh was actually one of the doctors at the hospital.. What she also found was the man she had loved who had gone off to war and been missing for a few years!
A sweet story filled with suspense, a mystery and a very unexpected ending! Another page turner by the fabulous Marie Higgins!
